You should really measure the battery voltage with a multimeter and then adjust the calibration, so that the voltage indicated on the transmitter matches what you had/have on the multimeter.Billthetug wrote:I have set the alarm at 9.6 and the battery calibration at 9.9 hope this is correct now

I started (beginning last year) insisting that my students learn from the start by pinching and with a tray. I've even custom built trays to accommodate smaller hands. My opinion is that nobody goes to a college prof or high school teacher and says, this is how I want to be taught - so they can eit...

Thanks for the sacrifice Mike. Appreciated. :) After much grunting along with wrecking the shaft pulling it out, there was a nice hole that went pretty deep. A small 2mm hole was drilled in the side of the stick holder for the wire,, along with enlarging the hole for the new joystick. Some care is n...

I am getting the urge to replace the throttle stick (which is my flap/brake control) with one that has a momentary press on switch as shown below. The switch would be used for fan off/on control. Re: Telemetry lost and recovered on Taranis and X8R
The aerials are horizontal. If the receiver aerials and the transmitter aerial is horizontal, then you are getting the best transmission path. I'm going to order some rat tail aerials and give those a go. They can be put through the skin of the plane if necessary. Is there any problem with getting ...

They are on the inside of the plane and near to some wiring and a closed loop rudder run. It's the only place I could mount the RX. How near are the aerials to the wiring? ... You need to keep the aerials as far as possible away from other wires. Anything right next to the aerial will have an effec...

The Rigexpert IT24 arrived today. So some quick tests made.. The 'normal' aerial (2dB) was checked, in fact three of them from Frsky were checked and found to have an SWR of 2.2:1 and it dipped lower at a higher frequency. Adding a bit to the 'whisker' to make the overall length of it to be 25.7mm d...

It gives the option of using a 5dbi omni, or a 7dbi patch. I wonder what the transmitter output power is, and if it can be changed or is changed to the different regions. Using the patch antenna in the UK would probably take you above the legal limit of 100mW ERP.... To be fair - the stock antenna ...

I got my Digital Multimeter out and checked the Stock t9x Gimbals Potentiometers and found that the wiring between the Vertical (Throttle) and horizontal (Rudder) Stock t9x Potentiometers are different. The Black +5 Volt wire is swapped with the Red Ground wire, which explains how there is a differ...

Winged Shadow Systems has discontinued its product line
Pity but I tend to agree with what Dave West said somewhere else. Things have moved on at a heck of a pace since he came out with his product line and for many (as we know) it is hardly worth making anything electronic for sale as the costs of tooling up and the lifespan of a product is pretty short...

Looks good Bertrand.
Will this be implemented for the 9X and the M128 transmitters, bearing in mind that many are fitted with Megasound cards where the buzzer output is fed to the speaker via the LM386 amplifier?

I missed that.. IMO that isn't such a good idea as the chances of getting the resistor off the other board and then soldered onto the other board without overheating or damaging the SMD resistor is slim.jhsa wrote:he has another board that is damaged and will try to use one of it's resistors..

Re: Replace 5V regulator
Great news,.... The resistor that you are looking for has a case size type 0603 SMD with a value of 5K1 Ohms.
So type in '0603 SMD 5K1' into Ebay and you will get a number of hits. Of course you may find it cheaper somewhere else..

Re: Replace 5V regulator
I agree with what Mike has said.
The resistor circled (which is hopefully the one that you were measuring that showed to be open circuit) should measure 5.1 K Ohm. The brown/yellow items are capacitors and what you were measuring there looks fine.

I think next I should replace the burned 5.12 ohm Safety Fuse Resistor. As far as I'm aware, there is no safety fused resistors in the TX. By your comment regarding the resistor being burned. Ohh!! ,,, The data sheet says - "A7105 has built-in 8-bits ADC do RSSI measurement as well as carrier detection function". Maybe that is enabled by so coding.
I love good old analogue. No nasty bits to lose.

Re: can I remove the plastic case from the PCB Ant?
There is a slight chance that you could detune the antenna by doing what you suggest, but I doubt that it would have much of an effect. Past experience of Frsky receiver antenna's have shown that they are a long way from what they should be in practice. Final opinion - As long as you are not going f...

Hi guys.. Someone has talked me into giving a talk on aerials (antennas to some people) later in the year. It does look that all is well with the modification. But I then checked the stock 9x 3.3V Regulator and at the Yellow Right Terminal my Multimeter reads: 2.9.5 Volts to 3.3.0 Volts, output.. My TX reads 3.3Volts on the regulator output. The schematic I have shows the regulator to be a 6206A - 30 (3....
