Just did some more testing... (sorry for the slow responses but my posts are still being moderated...) I tried extracting the eeprom to a file using both eepe and companion9x and compared the two .hex files - they are identical (not surprising I guess, they both use avrdude with the same parameters)...

His problem seems different, as reading the radio's eeprom results in an invalid eepe file, and writing a valid eepe file from the PC results in bad eeprom message. Are you sure you use the latest versions of both eepe and er9x? Yes, that's exactly right. I can flash the firmware fine and the radio...
