Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option
I'll take 2!
Like some others here, I'd be interested in the rotary enconder itself too.
I tried to find it here in Germany, but the cheapest was 20€ (almost 25$!).

Hardware docs/info ?
Hi Brent, everyone, this is probably a stupid question, but where can I find more info about the ersky9x board hardware? I'm waiting for the board to arrive, and I was wondering which connectors I need to buy to connect all of the switches, and how to connect them. I don't want to use any of the ori...

Re: Is it time for new HW to match the qaulity of the SW?
Basically, I think Olaf is right. I'm not sure about the 3D-milling though. That's why I am looking into 2D-milling, there are a lot of companies offering 2D front plate milling, and it's definetely less cost intensive. The design I really like is that of the Jeti DS16 or DC16. Both of them don't ne...

I started looking for the components (Sensors, IC) - it's not as easy as I thought.
Maybe you can give us the shop links ?
Has anyone looked for the components in Europe ?

Hi Max ! Great to hear your Halcyon is alive :) This is great news. Of course I will take one ! - but I don't have the slightest idea about what I will need (BOM, Schematics, component placing?) And if I don't find someone to do the hot-air soldering, I will need to buy myself a rework station :( Wo...

Re: Aurora gimbal usable ?
Thank you for the reply. I was thinking more of the electrical connection - and the value of the pots. If I remember correctly, the pots have a different value than the original gimbals - which would mean they result in less resolution (?) The plan is to build my own enclosement - so the case is not...

I've read a couple of posts here on the forum on using the aurora 9 gimbals.

Re: Is it time for new HW to match the qaulity of the SW?
Europeans seem to like tray systems, others like the usual box necklace style. I have figured out the trims should be on the back side of the case. Too many variables to invest in tooling. Yes, wo do have many people flying tray systems over here. But that could be overcome by having detachable (sl...

Re: Is it time for new HW to match the qaulity of the SW?
We have toyed with the idea , of a new case ...I feel a lot of users want a plastic molded case , they look at the simple metal case as primitive. Probably right, but I still don't think the Jeti DS-16 looks cheap - and it looks like it has a metal case. That's why I thought about the elox(color ga...

Re: Is it time for new HW to match the qaulity of the SW?
After playing around with mods and software, I have the same feeling as the original poster: the hardware quality does surely not match the software. I love the look of the new Jeti DS-16 posted above - the display mounted above the sticks is what I want for my next transmitter. I'm looking into pos...

Suggestion: Explain options on C9X
Hi Bertrand, of course I haven't been active here in the past, so I'm missing quite a lot of information about companion9x, open9x etc. But I suppose I'm not the only one who doesn't know all of the options available in C9X to have your firmware compiled. (I just guessed that option frsky means that...

Flashing Frsky-modded 9x with transmitter power on
Last week I modded my 9x with an frsky rf-module, and yesterday I did the swicth mod to prepare for the telemetry mod. After flashing with companion9x and the frsky option selected, everything seems to work. Yeah ! Now for my problem: I found out that my AVRISP mkII needs to have the processor power...

Re: AVRISP mkII
I had the same problem a couple of days ago. After installing libusb everything works, just choose USB as your interface. BTW: I'm pretty sure I had it working without libusb half a year ago. But last week I tried to use my AVRISP mkII, and avrdude refused to write. So I installed libusb and now it'...

I think he means keep the current listing and menu and add the automatic selection when the control is moved, instead of the switch flipping being the only option to select the control...[/quote]bertrand35 wrote:Then it's not like it is now if we detect switch movements

Re: Which board for open9x?
Maybe you could just combine the methods - keep it like it is, but if a switch is flipped, just jump to the related position in the swicth-option list. Should be doable.
About the compile options: would those be available via companion9x ?

Re: Which board for open9x?
I understand. But let's say I forgot to put the switch to "off" before entering the menu - then the worse thing that could happen is that I'd have to flip the switch twice (on->off & off->on). Much better than looping througth the possible switches, and maybe not even knowing what abbr...

Re: Which board for open9x?
Hi Bertrand, in the mean time I reprogrammed my 9x from Er9x to Open9x (downloaded the newest firmware via companion9x) . So I just verified: the switches are not(!) choosable by moving them. For example if I want to program a fligth phase, I go to the menu, choose a name, AND then I have to choose ...
