Re: How to Change Taranis Firmware?
So far I have managed to flash ERSky9X onto the new Taranis Plus with eePeSKY. With the Taranis connected to my PC in bootloader mode I've tried to locate the "Firmware" directory but it isn't on the SD Card. Only "Firmwares" and there's nothing inside it. In the Taranis director...

How to Change Taranis Firmware?
I've got a new Taranis which has the EU LBT FW installed. All my Rx's are none LBT. I've been to the Frsky website and downloaded the latest FW .rar but all the files inside the .rar are pre fixed Open Tx. I've been running ERSky9X on my old Taranis and want to stick with it. Will these .rar files w...

Question: Expo and Trimming in Trainer Mode - SOLVED
I've got two 9XR's. One for the Instructor and the other for the student. If I've read the manual correctly then all the slave Tx needs to have is a basic model set up and that's it. Such things like expo are applied to the PPM singnal from the slave as it gets processed by the master. In other word...

THs Not Working - SOLVED
I'm setting up a new model on my 9XR. I've set the timer trigger to THs but the timer continues to count no matter where the THR stick is. Sticks are calibrated correctly. Any ideas please? SOLVED: It's a Mode 1 Tx and I had it as Mode 2 in the Radio Settings. Changing that setting to Mode 1 sorted ...

9XR Pot Numbers?
Can anyone tell what the pot numbers are on the original Turnigy 9XR please? A pic would be good if anyone has one. I have a channel assigned to Pot 2 but for some reason it's playing up and I can't remember which knob it is.

Ok Chaps. I think I've got all the info I need now to set up these FC enabled models. I would just like to close this thread by saying a very BIG thank you for helping me out.

Re: Limited Servo Movement?
Thank you Joao. What about electric models. Are ESC's expecting the same Spectrum pulse range? None of my FC enabled models have the THR going via the FC. They are a direct connection to the Rx.

Re: Limited Servo Movement?
Thank you. And I will go with your good advice. Just a final question about electric models where the connection does not go via the FC. But I guess that's the same for all ER9X users, but do we also drop the limits to 78 to replicate Spectrum outputs?

Re: Limited Servo Movement?
I've answered my own question with regard to changing the Limits. It's both sides and I now get replication of Spectrum outputs of 1100 to 1900 as the Flight Controller is specified for. However, if I leave the Limits at 100 but change the Weight in the Mixer Screen to 78 then the 1100 to 1900 is ex...

Re: Limited Servo Movement?
Does your model have a flight controller between the receiver and the servos? Yes it does. An Eagletree Guardian. Sounds like you do have a flight controller and it needs Spektrum pulse widths (1100 to 1900us for +/-100%). So reducing limits to 80% (or more precisely 78%) is the right thing to do. ...

Re: Limited Servo Movement?
Stick calibration is OK. Your suggestion to check the movement on another model has demonstrated the same result i.e. no servo movement with about 15% of stick servo movement left. I hadn't noticed it before. Which got me thinking. A while ago I had an issue with a 3 POS switch and the advice I got ...

Limited Servo Movement?
I'm setting up a new model. Tx is a Taranis X9D running ERSKY9X. Hobbyking digital servos. My problem is that when I move the sticks I see the servos move but stop before I've applied full travel to the stick. They stop moving and there is about 15% of stick travel left :?: Sorry if this has been as...

Thanks Kilrah. That's what I thought too. What about that THR mix? Looks like a bad a attempt at a safety mix but doesn't have a switch assigned?

Mixer Question - With Screenshot?
Would somebody mind having a look at the attached screenshot and let me know what the mixes that have been added to the ELE (CH2) and the THR (CH3) do please?
It's not my set up but trying to figure out what someone else has done here. The model is a 3 Kg warbird.
Thanks in advance.

I did that just before I started testing the new model. But I understand the logic. Thank you.jhsa wrote:If you are seeing a deadband at the end of the stick movement, I think you need to calibrate the sticks.

Re: Weight?
Sort of! 1. If you use some trim, then you will reach the endpoint when moving the stick before the stick gets to the end. 2. If you then copy the trim into the sub-trim (e.g. use instant trim), the trim goes to centre, then the servo movement is then scaled so the whole stick movement is used betw...
Re: Weight?
Sort of! If you think you are likely to need some trim amount (e.g. a maiden flight), I recommend setting a switch for "Instant Trim". Then you just need to hold the model straight and level, flick the "Instant Trim" switch, and the S & L position is put directly into the su...
Re: Weight?
But keep in mind that with er9x 100% output equals to 125% compared to Futaba, Jr, etc. Why? Because Futaba/JR/Spektrum only use 80% of the possible servo throw for normal stick operation and leave the remaining 20% for use by the trims That makes sense but does it not conclude that with ER9X we ha...

Weight?
Can some one give me some more detail about Weight? The manual says:- "Weight This value multiplies the value from the input. It can range from -125% to +125%. Default is 100%." The reason I'm asking is that I've just fitted out a new model with digital servo's (new ones). With the Weight ...

3 Position Switch Question?
How many 3 position switches has this unit got? I've got the original 9XR which has just one and was wondering if the Pro had any more?
Sorry if it's a dumb question but I can't find the answer to this.

Re: Car Battery Charging
Thanks Mike.
Out of interest I've just checked the wall charger that came with my Taranis. It's output is rated at 13.5v, 0.5amps and centre pin +ve polarity. I've put my multi meter across the output jack and it's reading 13.34v. Slightly above the recommended 13v but it works without any issues.

Car Battery Charging
I've been doing some searching to look for a solution for charging my X9D at the field. I take a 12v car battery with me for charging my lipos via a smart charger. My understanding is that the Taranis has an inbuilt charger and another smart charger isn't needed (and can do damage). So, my thinking ...
