XSR receiver to bind for a drone sbus FC

Hi I have the Taranis and V2.2.1 and my receiver is a XSR SBUS 16 channels. I have choices in the bind menu, I put D16, ch1-ch16 But which one of these should I bind with if I want to control an FC sbus for a drone usinf the sbus 3 pins connector?. Ch1-ch8 telemetry on' ch1-ch8 telemetry off ch1-ch1...

Re: D8R II plus in PPM mode

Thanks again Kalle123,

These are so not expensive that it's worth it to buy them even if they won't serve now.
Always practical to have them and easy to use.

Re: D8R II plus in PPM mode

That is very interesting, especially the method with the Taranis.
RS-232 on PC's is very rare now.

Thank you very much Kalle123

Re: D8R II plus in PPM mode

It is to control a FC for a drone.
All my receivers with sbus are taken on my airplanes so I was wondering if I could use an old D8R II in PPM instead to avoid PWM.

Which one is the fastest? I know SBUS is faster than PPM.

SBUS (sbus port)
PPM (channel 1)
PWM but with many servo wires.

Re: D8R II plus in PPM mode

Good to know. Thanks Kalle123. However to flash the D8R II I will need the FrSky USB to RS-232 adapter. I don't have it. So I wonder if I should simply order a small receiver like the XRM that has SBUS instead of D8R II in PPM mode. I have the STK stick for smart ports, too bad I can't use it to fla...

Re: D8R II plus in PPM mode

Thanks Kilrah,

So if I understand well, I need to download the D8R-XP firmware and follow the flash procedure like if I had a D8R-XP receiver?
Even if I have the D8R II plus?
Everything found on the Fr-sky site..?

D8R II plus in PPM mode

Hi all,

Is it possible to use the FrSky receiver D8R II plus to output PPM mode? or CPPM mode?
If yes, can you please tell me the procedure to achieve this?
Procedure for Programming (firmware flashing) + bind procedure + jumpers.
And after that, what channel the PPM output goes?

Thanks

Re: master/slave with two taranis

Thanks all. All this makes sense, the master must transmit to ensure security. The other way around could lead to problems. That's fine. So: This means if I have a spectrum TX-RX airplane system and a Taranis that does not support/have a Spektrum TX module, then the master has to the Spektrum and th...

Re: master/slave with two taranis

Thank you Helle,

I was wondering if it would be possible to make it work with the slave being bounded to the receiver and not the master?

The slave would always transmit in either master or slave ? Possible?

Thanks

master/slave with two taranis

Hi,

A quick question.
In the master/slave configuration with two taranis, does the master HAS TO BE the one bounded to the receiver?
The obvious answer is yes but I'm not 100% sure.
Please confirm.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

Yes indeed Mike, the RTC Lithium battery is almost dead. Need to change it. It is the CR1220 3V.
My Taranis has 5 years so it is about time.

Thanks

Re: Radio setup: lost of time

Update on the timer problem.

Now my Taranis cannot keep the time anymore after every power off and back to power on.
The date is always reset at 1970-01-01 and time at 00:00

What can be the problem?

Radio setup: lost of time

Hi, I have the Taranis X9D and the latest openTx firmware 2.2.1. In my radio setup I have lost the time and date a few times since I updated in the 2.x.x versions. Today my date was at 1970 with the wrong day time as well. I have corrected the time and date a few times since the last year. BTW: I ha...

Copy model from Taranis X9D to X7

Hi,

Question: What is the easiest and fastest way to copy a model from Taranis X9D to Taranis X7?
I am aware that graphics and sound files are different and will need to adjust.
I just want to find out if there is a way to redo all of the menus and fine tune and adjust after.

Thanks

Re: Taranis default channel order

Thanks Daedalus66, So in fact for Taranis, the default channel order has no direct effect on the radio RF PPM order, it is simply a commodity to help and edit in the mixer and input menus. I was concerned (not sure) that with Taranis it would have some sort of effect on the PPM Radio RF link, but it...

Taranis default channel order

Hi, For the Taranis and open TX, since the MIXER menu can place any order of channel we wish, what is the role of the Default Channel order in the radio setup? I have never bothered with this order and placed my channels order in the MIXER menu and it always worked. If for example I have the iRangeX...

Re: Taranis X9D images not appearing

Hi,

OK I found my problem.
It is the way I copied the files from my PC to SD card.
I used the save of IRFANVIEW and save parameters were not set according to OpenTx rules.
I simply dragged the files from openTx to Taranis drive and it worked.

Problem solved.

What is the PPM mode on the first proposed transmitter?
PPM for me is a pulse position modulation for servos and it is always required to move the servos, right?

Thanks Kilrah,

It would be nice in the future to identify the sensor by sensing/saying the device ID.
As an example "sensor 5 lost" for a sensor with device ID = 5
Possible?
