Re: How to set up 16ch Tx with er9x!
I am talking of the receivers that have PPM out (D8RSP, D4FR, D4RII), typically used to transmit all channels on a single wire to multicopter boards, OSDs or such. They generate a PPM signal with a fixed frame length of 18ms, like for the servos, whatever the PPM is set to on the transmitter. Those ...

OK, good news, got the HFM12-MX happy in both 7CH and 12CH modes, confirmed working with 2x FrSky TFR8S, all 12 channels are available and work perfectly fine. As for settings, I'm on PPM 12CH 400u 28.5ms POS. I swear I tested something like this before and 7CH mode didn't want to work, but now it d...

Re: How to set up 16ch Tx with er9x!
I did another test, and come to some worrying conclusion about the PPM out of FrSky stuff. What I said about 8 channels at 100% not fitting in the 18ms frame is really serious. It's usually considered that the sync pulse of a PPM signal should be at least about 4.5ms. With that 18ms frame, this gets...

That's not of much use with a rotorcraft though, as you're close to hovering "throttle" most of the time, and more importantly also during landing. You'll be exceeding the threshold only after you've landed, which defeats the purpose

It won't count when you are flying your heli upside down with your pitch stick between about -93% and -100% - which normally shouldn't be more than probably 1 second in a whole flight!pmackenzie wrote:THs doesn't work if you are flying a heli upside down

Re: How to set up 16ch Tx with er9x!
That was easy to check as I already had my scope out anyway. Tha answer is no. PPM out on a D4FR or D8RSP will indeed follow the setting on the 9X IF you choose 4,6 or 8 channels, but doesn't accept more. Pretty much expected, as FrSky receivers enforce a too short 18ms frame rate in their receivers...

Re: All things GPS
From some recent search, the FrSky GPS is already pretty much the cheapest you'll find. The module alone can be found for a few $ less, but then why give up the ready made cabling/packing and have to do that yourself to save $5... The Locosys module I use also has lower performance than the original...

Re: 9X^(infinity)?
Yeah the case has doubtful attributes. Firstly they made the (usual from most manufacturers...) mistake of putting the strap hook above the power switch instead of trying to putting it as close as possible to the radio's CG. Then (when you use FPVC Advanced) the large screen you're likely to use in ...

OK. I read too quickly and understood you had the magnetometer on the board but as a separate IC, thus taking more space.

Reduction in movement can be achieved through the Expo/DR menu . 2) The E xpo/DR menu was removed as...

Frankly I guess that buying new meters will be easier and cheaper than getting isolated converters or stuff like this... Something like this kind of standalone meters for example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-Voltmeter-Panel-DC-7-5-30V-LCD-Car-Electromobile-Voltage-Meter-Blue-/280855921041?pt=LH_...

How do you power your 9x?
That's the only thing on the 9x itself that could affect range. Anything else would be module/antenna/receiver-related. The 9x only provides power and a PPM signal. If the module transmits and servos work the signal is there. So the 2nd only failure possibility is power...

No, no HW mods, at least not yet. The unused pins seem to be unconnected in the module. I still haven't been able to make the module happy in 7CH mode. I haven't yet actually tested the module transmits properly in 12CH mode either, as my receivers are still somewhere in the mail system. I wanted to...

Re: How to power a dvm with the source voltage it's reading?
My thought is to use 2 HK uebc type modules in series to make 10 volts. That certainly won't work. All hobby UBECs I've seen have a common ground between input and output. So putting 2 in series would just create a nice short circuit :) What's the voltage the meters are supposed to measure? If it...

OK, then no need to look further. The already low supply from USB with the added load of the module will certainly bring the board voltage down to brownout reset levels.stretton74 wrote:i am powering module from the main board of the 3.3v ponit

Re: eepe avrdude not working after dsm2 mod
How is the radio powered when you try to flash? Looks kind of like if there was no power. If it's powered through the usbasp, then try to desolder just the power supply wire from the DSM module, and try again. If it works, then the usbasp can't supply enough power. That wouldn't surprise me, because...
