Thanks to your tip, I found my problem.
It was just that I was using mixed characters and didn' take care of it, when I enterd the names by hand.

I now got all pictures linked and displayed.

The NMEA How To guide should be ready now (to be found under the hardware mods)

I tried this last night, created an xbm 128x64 and included in using eepe. It wrote successfully to my 9x, but does not replace the er9x splash. The menus are also garbled characters.
