Re: XJT Telemetry Module connection to Sky9x Rev3 Board

Thanks Mike, all sorted, except for the vario reading about 10% both in metric and imperial of what it should be,
maybe I have one of those faulty ones?
Only other minor detail, the beeper changes to "warbley" when in pxx mode :)

Re: XJT Telemetry Module connection to Sky9x Rev3 Board

Installed latest R180, and the telemetry now works, thanks Mike!
Not sure how to reset the altitude (X8R+frsy high precision vario)?
And why does it tell me to update the co-processor every time I
switch the transmitter on? I have 0104 co-pro, is there a later one?
Thanks!

It would be nice to modify the XJT module internally to get the data through (Mike?) :)

Sorted.
Firefox was telling me the file was "application/octet-stream" whatever that is.
Opened with winrar and all is well

Re: Taranis Vario problem

You can update without the SPC. You need a serial port on your pc or an usb-serial adapter, then you need a 5V power supply for your device (the vario). Solder an adapter with a servo kable, a 1N400X Diode and a RS232 female plug, as described in the "how to upgrade.pdf" on the last page....

Spektrum DM9 fits also (had to teak the pins slightly)
Otherwise it sits down and latches OK

Re: 9x slider pot mod, pls help.

Looking at the rest of the pots in my TX the RED and BLACK wires are connected on the outside solder points on each of the rotary pots. My pot2 (right hand) is the only one with different wire color arrangement as in YELLOW/RED/BLACK. Did the little Chinese Lady screwed up the color code? Could wel...

Re: Towerpro Servo Jitters

Did any of you builld Ed Thomson Digitrios or Classics? I built a few. They were great with the Bonner linear servos. The Orbit PS2 sevos caused me a lot of problems with progressive twitching leading to flat batteries! Funny how things turn full circle, the exact same thing happens if I try to use ...

Ohh.. You do know that you can make a good radio detector out of a piece of galvanised steel... Not so good for RC but real fun to get working. :) Yep! Now how do I put this without being handbagged :?: I didn't know there was anyone as old as me on here   No, I'll get handbagged for sure...

Heathkit did those I think?
Or was it them that had permeability feedback, variable inductor?
I thought that was better, no contacts at all!

"Now who made them? Was it Kraft?"

Sprengbrook??

Galloping Ghost with Mighty Midget motors, relay driven, then 10 channel reed banks :)

(I can remember some reed flyers smoother than some of today's pilots)

Manual PPM it was then..had to fly with thumbs.

Those were fun days!

What about using a HK orange DSM/2/x tx module. It does it all and uses a ppm input? Now they have x receivers also. I'm a summing the Taranis can support ppm out in the module bay? That had been my plan. SM Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk. Just misses the 2 big advantages of spektrum IMHO, ...

Re: Turnigy 9X Stock Receiver Failsafe

Slightly off topic - We have had a number of instances involving systems that do have a failsafe, yet we have found a few that were not set by the modeller, just left with the factory default. The result of which has been full throttle when the transmitter is switched off before the flight pack is ...

Methanol, 50% nitro methane, 5% nitro benzine in the winter
and castor oil. The smell and noise sadly missed now!
Anyone remember Rsolite (!), "the glow fuel with a real sting"?
Wasted a gallon of it a few days ago burning a tree stump in
the garden, how sad is that?
