Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option

That sounds good Mike! I'll try it this week and report back. Now, how about a straightforward pdf file of the pcb anyone? I have photo resist pcb (somewhere), uv lightbox I made yonks ago (too big to lose!) and some ferric chloride (somewhere) and some clear film. Given the pdf, I WILL find the stu...

Pretty sure I read somewhere that you don't get the hub data with the free version.
It certainly works with the paid for one, at least for me.

Re: FRS Logger

Thanks leo, I wonder if something changed in 4.1 then maybe perhaps? Could it be this :- Android 4.1, Jelly Bean Text-to-speech " Jelly Bean introduces a new conversational text-to-speech voice in US English, available as both a network engine and an embedded engine via the TTS API." :?:

That could well be it Rob.
Is anyone else trying these apps with android 4.1.1 phone/tablet?
Thanks!

Re: FRS Logger

Only one small problem, the nexus 7 doesn't "speak" with logger or dashboard,
my phone does.
Have tried a couple of text to speech apps with no luck so far.
Has anyone had this with nexus :?:

Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option

Ok, just looked at the original 9X board, so no problem there, the switches are all linked side to side on the main board, so the problem will not arise. On the ersky9X, the lower pair of connections on each switch are not, so you need to bridge them on the back of the main pcb to maintain the conne...

Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option

Just fitted my encoder. Found the left and down arrows didn't work :o I found you need to bridge the lower contacts on each of the 4 directional switches. Maybe not necessary to bridge all four perhaps, but I did anyway. They are not bridged on the adaptor pcb. This applies to the ersky board, anywa...

Seems to be a good job in achieving what was to me an impossible task!
Well done, much appreciated! :D

Hmm dunno
I thought you had it pretty much spot on with Rev B brent :|
I can perfectly understand your wanting to "tidy up" the board around the reg's,
but to my mind this is using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Just my opinion

Re: Advice on android pad..

Quality seems quite good to me Rob. Plastic screen, for the money I reckon it's ok. Less than a week from China. The bluetooth was useless on the Neon, this one works! I do wonder if Android 4 is better at handling BT than Android 2 maybe? I was tempted by the white one at £99.99, but would have bee...

So far it seems to work perfectly with both apps :D

Re: RN-42 Bluetooth

I have had no success connecting my Bluechip Neon phone (el cheapo) to RN-42/JY-MCU Module
It pairs instantly, simply wont connect with FRSY Dashboard , FRS Logger or Blueterm.
No problem with Nexus 7.
Buy cheap, buy twice?

Re: Make Turnigy module removable with existing hard ware

I know it's expensive, but the spektrum SPM6817E case seems good, it puts the aerial/antenna/twig(!) above
all the metal, and I guess would take any module with a bit of fiddling? (I don't work for Spektrum!)

Re: Advice on android pad..

Don't buy a Bluechip Neon like I did. (A502 V2.2.1)

The bluetooth simply will not connect with either FRSY Dashboard or FRS Logger (unless mine is faulty)
It would be handy to have a list of phones that DO work.
