Re: taranis wont turn on
Is this another Taranis/Taranis Plus firmware mixup, XRay? If so, you should still be able to connect and reflash via USB Using OpenTX Companion if you power up with both trim tabs pressed towards the center, then plug USB in. I've verified I can do this blind on both 2.0.08 and 2.0.10. You should a...

I bet DJI's lawyers are gonna be knocking on his Inbox about 5 minutes after they go on sale... :p
But Awesome nonetheless; now we can finally get out of a Phantom what has been built into APM for years, at 3x the price. Plus add-ons.

Current production, and yes.
Aloft is rarely out of anything FRSky for more than 2 weeks nowadays; I'd guess the Taranis Plus will be back in stock on a similar timetable.

Turnigy 9XR / 9XR Pro White LED Backlight Mod
The name pretty much covers it; if you want to change the color of your 9XR/9XR Pro's LCD backlight, then you're in the right place. You will need: 5) 3020 size BRIGHT WHITE LEDs, 3500mCD or higher 1) 1206 size 22Ω SMD Resistor (Or 2 0805 size resistors totaling 17-22Ω in series or parallel) A decen...

Turnigy 9XR Pro Speaker Mod
Like the Taranis, the speaker on the 9XR Pro is somewhat anemic. This can be blamed on both the fact of using a small Mylar pancake speaker, and the fact of trying to use said speaker in "free-air" mode with no soundbox in front and no resonating chamber behind the diaphragm. I'm working o...

Turnigy 9XR Pro Multi-Port Housing Mod
There is an issue with the Multi-Port used in the Turnigy 9XR Pro, which I discovered when removing the main board to inspect my LCD. The original 9XR had the Multi-Port housing made so that it pulls straight up away from the board for removal, allowing access to a screw underneath. The way my Pro i...

Re: Taranis Plus Cheers & Jeers, New Features
Mike - Quick question on the new LCD: I've started using my Taranis, and while my existing custom 1-bit splash screen looks as good as it ever did on my 9XRs, the Model graphics I can find online are optimized for the old LCD, and look pretty crunky. How many greyscale is the new LCD? What should I ...

Re: Frsky XJT wont stop beeping in 9XR PRO
It may be a couple other issues, both of which I experienced with my 9XR and the XJT; both caused by the XJT being powered but not receiving a PXX signal from the TX. 1) - Pins not long enough in the JR Module Bay - Mine came with pins in the module bay that were just plain too short. It had power, ...

Taranis Plus Cheers & Jeers, New Features
Okay... so my new Taranis Plus just arrived and... First impressions: Contrast is much better, though still not as good as my 9XR; the blacks just aren't black. Splash screen with graphics still optimized for the old display (as I read here some time back) looks pretty bad; but text-only Menu screen...

Re: Taranis SWR Survey
"SWR" should always be below 51, or a popup warning will appear and an audio alarm will sound to warn you to check the radio's antenna. The value itself is of little meaning. It is NOT a real SWR reading, just a very approximate antenna quality indicator that's not meant to be used beyond...

Re: 9XR-PRO Hacks and Fixes
I had similar variations on 3 different 9Xes. My 9XR wouldn't work at all with the ORX DSM2/DSMX module until I replaced the pin header with a 19mm set; the pins are now 14mm to the bottom of the JR bay, and my 9XR Pro's pins are 12mm. As João said; http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x462/mnemennth...

Re: Voice files for 9XR-PRO with ersky9x
Well, yeah; but that's also a lot to do with using them "free-air". A speaker needs a sealed enclosure to provide some back-pressure, otherwise it suffers "over-excursion"; a fancy term meaning the cone travels much further than the designers intended and things get damaged. The ...

I think that the oval speaker is the best for this radio.. I don't remember having to cut anything to install it. It did fit very well against the front of the radio.. Well, no... I spent quite some time back in the day messing around with TTS; every voice uses a "Template" file (actually several in most cases) that is modulated to build words out of phonemes. I assumed João used a voice template and probably the TTS program in some variant of LINUX or s...

I figured you might say that... I'm a bit busy with hardware mods right now; trying to fix the pitiful speaker in this thing so the voice is halfway clear. Looks like I'm gonna have to do some serious building inside the TX case to get a decent soundbox. That bleeping Futaba Trainer port wastes a lo...
