Good news, Brent checked in and is busy with a few projects as usual. No snow yet but close he says.
Seems like yesterday we were all discussing a new skyboard and pro board being designed. Time sure flys, more than I do lately in fact.

Re: SKY9x Ver 3.0
Ok on Brent. If you contact him again please say hi from me.
I’m not sure of his current email address. We had many conversations about his projects and snow. Haven’t seen snow up close in years.

Re: SKY9x Ver 3.0
Has anyone heard from Brent recently? I see his skynorth website is gone. I’ve emailed at the last address we used when I just used to say hi every so often over he years, but no reply.
I know he was busy with new designs for RC systems for development companies.

Re: SKY9x Ver 3.0
I’m taking my rev c out of long long time storage and have a few questions on latest updates that can be added. It’s doing nothing and should be! I’m using a dedicated modified Dht module as we did at the time. I’m thinking for 2018 adding a xjt module may be more universal to my mixture of D and X ...

I thought there was a thread/topic on the rev c/newest board. I even see my posts on it. I lost my saved subscribed topics awhile ago and didn’t remember to add that one back.
As always, thanks Mike.
I’ll ask a few questions on it.

Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area
Does the rev c board or release version board have a working link?
I don’t see skynorth’s site up anymore but did find B1 board info as well as the beta closed topic.
It may be time to open the beta discussions to everyone?

Re: Intermittent speaker malfunctions
The wire is wrapped around the cone. Where it’s soldered to the speaker wire terminals I should have said. Using a ohm meter on the speaker and gently pushing the cone to move it could show up a broken wire. I agree that the speaker would be the last place to look but it happens. Sent from my iPhone...

I just want to thank everyone again for all your help. Now if only I could get my hands on a Megasound card lol/ Maybe ArduVoice? I have a nano, FTDI programmer & the SD card module already :) I have a spare megasound card never installed, original fw. I ordered 2, used 1, sold that 9x. I’m ope...

Re: taranis wont turn on
The mainboard has all the smarts on it for power generation/regulation as well as the magic switch circuit. The back board doesn’t. The switchboard has the charger circuit on it and the power switch but I’m guessing not too much to cause this issue. A new mainboard would be my guess. Sent from my iP...

Re: taranis wont turn on
Wow, not good! I’m out of simple fix ideas. I had a tx that was salt water damaged from HK. Th-9x model. A tip of the tongue gave a salty taste. I used distilled water to wash the mainboard and it came back to life ok after strange power issues. Then the toggle switches started failing, corrosion st...

Re: Module problem
Excellent! I knew something was changed from what one would consider Stock. That’s why the battery question popped into my head. Strange on why this caused the Taranis to act that way however? I need to check, but I thought main battery voltage was passed thru to the module vcc pin via the mcu and m...

I agree and that’s my first assumption except he’s having the issue with two totally different types of modules, in two different 9xd’s, but not the 12s? That’s why I’m questioning what he’s using for x9d tx batteries? Maybe they’re crashing under the external module loading? Sent from my iPhone usi...

Just brainstorming and hopefully waiting for others to join in on solving this mystery condition. You haven’t mentioned what multiprotocol module your using but have mentioned using ppm mode. Re: FrSky S6R low RSSI
Ok, but remember, using a external Orange tx module with orange Dsm2/x receivers is a totally different transmitter section and protocol. The Taranis at this point becomes just a pulse encoder and dc power source and it’s internal ACCST protocol internal xjt module has no relationship to what’s goin...

Re: Module problem
I haven’t seen that happen. I have seen the male module pins push up the female module connector if not soldered flush, this can make for strange or no operation. Pin length of too short may cause issues? What happens if you power up with the modules removed. What version firmware? Have you in the p...

Re: FrSky S6R low RSSI
Do you have any other Frsky non S type receivers? I suspect not or you would have mentioned it. The fact that the external module works using its own RF and antenna only verifies that the x9d plus encoder and opentx is working. What does the swr screen show as a value. If you hold the antenna does i...

Re: IRangeX 4in1 Plus fw flashing.
W7 doesn’t have hyperterm anymore so I tried Putty.
The 4in1 shows up as com15 maple serial.
Setting putty as serial com15, it would not connect or leave the config page.
I tried several baud rates 9600 115200.

I hope this answers the question I didn’t answer earlier Mike. Re: SBUS Trainer input
Bummer! I planed on buying a x10 or x10S as soon as Frsky settles down on the release tweaking. So if the Bt wireless trainer is truly a bust, and there still is a trainer and module port, then back to a Linker and cppm receiver setup like this? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180202/cd66c34d6112...

Re: SBUS Trainer input
if soldered in, will R1 allow the pin to be used like it is on the X9D/+ and X7? I'm assuming the plan is to use only the Bluetooth wireless trainer in the X10-X12, but report seem to indicate it's not reliable? Yes pin 2 does work on my non S X7, can't say for the X7S? Looks like Frsky is going in ...

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth
My interest is still to see how the Frsky Bt module if it ever works, works reliably between Frsky tx’s that are advertised to come equipped with them. That’s the most common setup I’ll see at my club field. Not many diy’ers in the fixed wing flyers. One close friend is buying a Qx7 s from Aloft tod...

Excellent news, you’re the tech google as far as I’m concerned! One other clarification, should this also be true for the Taranis and Qx7? The Tx and Rx signals are on pads 16 and 17. RTS and CTS connect to 14 and 15, and there are no traces connecting to them, nor are there any connections shown for them on the circuit diagram. There aren't reeally any 'spare' signals on the processor for these functions either! Mike So does that mea...

That may be the missing link so to speak Mike, no connections. Easy enough to add if I know where they go on the processor or wherever? I installed Modules in both my x7’s so I can’t see the trace under the pads for now. I can remove a module however if needed for verification of anything if a ohm m...
