Re: ALES setup question
Yes. I was hoping to avoid re-inventing the wheel and that someone could suggest an arrangement of switches that they found worked for them ergonomically for a modern F3B model. It takes (me) quite a lot of time to do all the programming and test it and the less experimentation and re-doing the bett...

Re: ALES setup question
Thanks for that - interesting read. I'll get the hang of it eventually I hope. to Rob Thomson. I have an F3b model and I want to use this transmitter. I need to program several different flight modes for a variable aerofoil. For example, launch mode I need 2 stages, launch with TE +7.5 degrees then ...

Re: ALES setup question
Thanks very much, that works perfectly.
I'm still curious as to the basis for using the terminology HALF.

Re: ALES setup question
I'm a bit confused mainly because I don't yet understand the basis of what you are doing. I set up a mixer on the throttle channel -100% half, replace, THR; and one on the spoiler channel the same but for throttle switch !THR. Didn't know what to do with the second 100% in your post so I also tried ...

Re: ALES setup question
With the esc on Ch 6 and the spoiler servo on ch 5, I get normal motor run and no spoiler when THR switch is off (this is what I want). When I turn on switch I get spoiler but the motor runs permanently (not subject to throttle stick) at 100% whereas I need it to be off. I have ch 5 mixer at 125% an...

ALES setup question
I want to set up a model to fly in an ALES competition. I want the throttle stick to operate the motor as normal and not the spoilers until it's time to think about landing. Then I want the throttle stick to operate the spoilers and not the motor. So I have set up two mixers on ch 5 and ch 6 both at...

Thanks to you all for the explanations. I'll go back to the standard version for now I reckon.

Re: Switches inoperative
I have the FRSKY telemetry module installed - is this what you mean? If I have to change to another version of firmware is there a way for me to keep all of the setup information that i have entered for several models?

Switches inoperative
When I turn on my radio I get a switch warning saying that the throttle and aileron switches are on when they are off. Both of these switches are highlighted on the main screen and highlights don't change when the switches are operated. The other switches on this screen (Rud, Ele, gea, trn) all indi...

Re: Servos go to endpoints on turn on
Thanks for that. I had calibrated the radio but subsequently downlaoded an eepe file off the forum to it and didn't realise that i would have to do the calibration again.

Servos go to endpoints on turn on
I have just installed this firmware and am attempting to set up a model previously used with the standard 9x firmware and also (previously) an older 36mhz radio. I have gone through the radio setup process including calibration. When I turn on the radio the servos in the model all go way off centre ...

Re: original firmware
Are you trying to load er9x? The original FW? In any case, what you should do is: 1) Open eepe. 2) Goto Burn ->Flash Firmware to Tx 3) Choose the .hex file. 4) press OK. If you are trying to flash the original FW: 5) Rename the .eep file to .bin. 6) In eepe goto Burn->Write EEPROM Memory from File ...
