ersky9x compilation on linux (Ubuntu)

Hey all, As I could not immediately find compilation instructions for building the firmware on linux, I decided to share what I know with the rest of you. Forgive me if this is redundant, but the fact that the gnumake script in the next branch was in a non-working state for unix toolchains, I suspec...

Re: Error code after installation

Agh, stupid me. Of course it was my own mistake. In my haste I forgot the one jumper cable labeled D in the manual. (I first thought the 12-pin cable to check was the one that goes to the back pcb of the remote). Now it's working perfectly :) This is a bit of a pitfall, it might be a good idea to ad...

Re: Error code after installation

if you remove the board and reverse the installation, does you LCD work? Then the screen works, it shows "9xtreme" and indicates revision r00.3 Perhaps I could also try making the pogo pin connections with soldered wires? But that would make it more of a hassle to remove the flux again af...

Error code after installation

I just installed another 9Xtreme module, and when powering the remote I get the flashing red backlight, which I take it means that it is trying to flash the firmware of the host. After a few backlight flashes the screen flashes blue briefly (which I read means flashing done). Then the backlight turn...

Re: speaker hiss

Ok, trying it again these are my observations: The sound I get from the speaker is a quiet high pitched wail from the speaker. It appears directly related to the settings of the external transmitter. Turning the external port off stops the sound immediately. Internal radio settings have no effect on...

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation

Oh, I missed that one. That's very interesting, thank you for pointing me to it. :) It's very cool that it can select the protocol using a menu in the transmitter. It still uses an arduino in between, with the ARM cpu in the 9xtreme everything could probably be integrated in the firmware, though. Bu...

Re: speaker hiss

I noticed that the hissing changed if I changed the external transmitter PPM from 300usec to some other value. On some settings the hissing even stopped completely.
Perhaps this can help to find the source?

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation

if anyone actually has use for an SPI connection, let me know One idea that came to mind is connecting an NRF24 module and modify the firmware to let the 9Xtreme communicate with various toy/training quads, so you can get rid of all those small transmitters. Goebish has a very nice collection of pr...

Re: Mod: Connecting 9Xtreme with FrSky DJT module

If modifying your DJT, I would recommend doing it this way: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=3868&p=57121&hilit=#p57047 . Thanks for the tip! I don't have a Taranis transmitter so I was not really worried about that, but I'll see if I can update my mod in the future, j...

Mod: Connecting 9Xtreme with FrSky DJT module

Hello all, this is my first post here. I've just received my 9Xtreme and had to do a few mods to get it to connect to my DJT module for telemetry, without wires sticking out. I'd like to share my solution as it might interest others. This is not something new, I achieved this by piecing together oth...
