It showed up on HKs web site for a couple hours , then was removed...I would expect it yo yo on sale next week
But then again ...what do I know ...just look at the thread title

Re: Esc power safety switch?
Good to hear it worked .... On the simulator , it would not work with under 10V.
The cap is a good Idea , to stop and noise spikes from triggering the SCR.
R2 should also be reduced to 100R as 2K might be too high a resistance in the PPM signal path...

Re: Esc power safety switch?
I have found a problem with my design .... It wont work at 5V.
The 5V supply in not enough to trigger and get enough holding current flowing to latch the SCR.
Sorry about that ...

Re: Esc power safety switch?
From a reliability point : I'll stand by my circuit ....3 transistors (2 are in SCR) will be more reliable than your Micro (thousands of transistors) and software which must execute. The Armed status is shown on the LED , On power up the PPM signal line is held low....Unless the SCR is triggered , t...

[quote="jhsa"]Don't forget that with only the switch you won't be protected next time you power the plane on if you forget to disarm the esc ( flick the switch) after flight. In fact that could be even more dangerous as you might think you are protected but you aren't. For 100% protection ...

Adding a push button across the scr , would allow you to disarm it.

Yes , once the scr is latched , you would need to remove the power, to reset it.

My buzz is long gone. But end millage varies per user.
It does not affect anything else. No need go worry in that regard.

The 9XR Pros we are testing , have the Haptic installed as standard.
That's the model they are all referring to.
Its a nice feature ....
There are Pro units in production currently
Chinese New Year next week will not help speed things up...

It would be easier just to cut the header off the board (leave enough pin to grab with pliers or tweezers)
Now just heat each pin and and use tweezers to remove.

Re: Ppm tester?
A x10 probe would be good for logic levels (5V) ( a 5V input would be reduced to 0.5V ) You could make up BNC to 1/8" male plug adapter , or just cut off the BNC and solder on the 1/8" plug directly Here is a cheap source for scope probes , they have ggod prices on small toggle switches. h...

You could also use the PCs internal sound card for a simple scope
http://www.zeitnitz.de/Christian/scope_en
The key is to use a pair of resistors as a voltage divider , to scale the input so that you keep the Microphone input below 1V

There is a spare pin in the left / right side connectors. On one side a spare A/D is connected , this input is biased at 1/2 VCC , so it supports a direct connection to a 3 way switch . You could also hook up a multi position switch for flight mode selection ... The connector on the other side , has...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Have you thought about using a INA219 current / Voltage sensor?
This would add $2.50 to the cost , but allow for direct voltage measurement up to 26V
and with a current shunt you can measure the Amp draw from the battery.

The color of the wires is not important
The 4 pin connector is upside down on your RF module , the two wires beside each other go to the RXD,TXD connections,
The one separated by the open pin (white) is the Ground , and should be at the bottom

The 9XR Pro can use more different RF modules that a 9x can. Most 9x users are not hackers .....hence smack has sold over 7000 programmer boards ......
