Re: Stereo microscope for electronics

Well, it's much less impressive in person. Again, I'm used to big, heavy, multi $$$ scopes. This one is puny in comparison. The lenses are small and the FOV is rather restricted. That being said, I am rather pleased with it. While you can see that they did their best to reduce cost it doesn't FEEL c...

Re: eePe or er9X problem?

I don't much like Ruby either. Can't understand the syntax.

Problem is that if you make it a part of the same structure you will have to modify the code to pass that part of the structure. Or do you intend to create a stuct to hold both variables?

Re: PIPO32 - Monster ISU :)

Hi Guys, got some bad news. I made an error on the board. Not a big one, mind you, but an error nonetheless. I can do a quick fix but I really don't like sending out boards like this. Also, I have a better design that can incorporate a magnetometer. This means a delay of about a month in this projec...

Re: Stereo microscope for electronics

I wear glasses as well. The scopes usually have enough correcting power, just change the focus.

Sometimes I keep my glasses on and just look through them. Some other times I taek them off. It's a nuisance but again, I feel that it's much better than a USB microscope.

Re: Er9x or Open9x?

I have a slightly different point of view. er9x has reached a point where the functionality is pretty much as we want it to be. There are a couple of things we'd like to change but that will have to wait for v2. open9x has taken its own direction and that's great! This is the power of open source. N...

Re: PIPO32 - Monster ISU :)

I thought about having the main MCU control the motors as well :) I don't know if it's feasible as far as timing is concerned. Maybe a "distribution board that has a MCU and a pinout for separate ESC's. Just looking for a way to reduce costs and improve responsiveness. There's something to be s...

But the connector is not easy to use. Using a connector designed to be plugged and unplugged is much easier.

Also, consider leaving the programmer in the radio and plugging in with a USB plug.

Re: Stereo microscope for electronics

OK, I found a cheap, resonable solution to the ring light issue: http://metku.net/index.html?path=mods/ring-light/index_eng Simple and cheap. Look for "automotive led ring light" or "car led ring light". These can be powered by my bench PSU. Seems like they'll be bright and easy ...

Re: Plans to support ersky9x?

You could say that all the FW is redundant. Basically th9x, er9x, gruvin and open9x are all very similar. C9x tries to be a holder for every fw while eePe focuses on er9x. I maintain er9x and eePe so they will always work together. Point being, each provides something different. Variety is an advant...

Re: Stereo microscope for electronics

The second one is fairly decent. However, there is a big difference in image quality. I work for a company that makes endoscopes so I can tell the difference between a camera and a direct light lense. The microscope is much much better. Plus it's stereoscopic which makes the image that much more cle...

I need to look at how to support this. Unfourtunately I have zero time to do so.
I'll probably just scoot over and steal stuff from companion.

Better yet, give their developers commit rights :)

Re: Eeprom to Tx causes recalibration?

The calibration data is part of the EEPROM file. If you are flashing a "new" file then the calibration data is new as well.

If you want a new file without the hassle of recalibrating, just copy the "General Settings" (at least in eePe, not sure about companion)

Stereo microscope for electronics

Hi Guys, Being spoiled with super-high quality Olympus scopes in my workplace has put me in a problem. I can't keep on bringing my hobby to work. It's a very accurate 32bit led! Well worth it IMO.

Powering it up like that was not smart. I still had a short and the ldo got really hot. Good thing I'm not home so I can't mess with it!

Well the first 4 are assembled. Quite a battle this one. The VQFN package is not easy to manipulate. Hopefully I get enough orders to send it out to a P&P shop. Better on my eyes! I haven't been able to test it yet. I got some solder bridges and I'm out of copper braid. Also, I want to check it ...

Re: trouble with stock 9x

EEPROM error means that the stock FW doesn't recognize the eeprom data. Don't know how that could have happened. It's very suspect. I'd check to make sure you're reading 5v+ on the right pads. It really shouldn't happen. Anyway, the only way I know how to fix that error is with a programmer.... And ...

Anyway, consider updating to a 64 bit system with 4.7.4... That should solve my problems :D

Again, because I run Ubuntu 11.10 which uses Qt 4.7.4 you really need Qt 4.7.4 to use the .deb package.
Either update the libraries you have or compile from source.

Aint linux grand :)

Re: Version 339 Crashes With Ubuntu

Yup, thet's the issue. It really needs QT 4.7.4. Not sure I can even compile it with 4.6.
The simplest solution would be to download the Qt linux package and install it.:
