Re: Working links to all 9x schematics wanted posted
Thanks Mike. This is the one I was looking for, but any and all versions can't hurt. I lost the link and I thought I went there? My idea is that when a circuit question about fixing or a modification is asked we may want to reference the answer to a master schematic along with pictures if any, showi...

Working links to all 9x schematics wanted posted
There have been kinks to 9x schematics posted many places but many I saved may not be working now. I'm looking for working links to The original FCC 9X info and schematics. gruvins great 9x updated schematic showing all the "hacks" including the ppm trainer level converter in the 4066 circ...

Re: Simulator Jack external ppm level changer
I tried a 4069 hex inverter externally and it is my new low part count design that's working on my breadboard. I have the option of converting my dx7 ppm from 2 v PTP to 4.5v PTP and a stock er9x TX likes the ppm signal. I also have the option of inverting or a non inverted ppm out due to the 4069's...

Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
Strange but I have to report. My circuit works but I notice it loads down to 5 v ptp pulse when connected so I'm going to try again. I'm thinking someone needs to build and sell a SMD version of gruvins internal circuit and we just install it internally as part of the upgrages. I'm not giving up but...

Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
Gruvins circuit installed in to 4066 ppm circuit does work and should be installed as it works! I did breadboard up Gruvins circuit externally and it works. I changed the base input resistor to 330 ohms to keep the impeadance low. I also have the 150k from base to vcc to make it work. I'm going to u...

This looks interesting. http://www.leaderhobby.com/product.asp?ID=9394001226059 Comes with an ir ppm module. SM Please is this working with PPM output on trainer port of 9x transmitters? Tried it somebody? thanks. I'm not sure but, Both units have their own batteries so only ppm signal is needed. T...

Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
Kilrah, What color HK BL are you using? All my tests this week were white several month to several weeks ordered. Maybe Charles b posted his original fix with another color and did find a fix? My white ones with pin 5 or pin 3 connected to the resistor, not both, only come on when the 9x power switc...

Re: Help with a 9X presentation name?
Gave my first er9x presentation and everyone stayed to hear it and stayed awake, wow! I've been asked to give another one at a second club tomorrow night. So far not many have done soldering or circuit work at this level so if it catches on I'll have my work cut out for me.

Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
Another trainer update. I think I have the external trainer PPM level changer circuit working. My first attempts using an npn and Gruvins circuit he posted as a 9x hack wouldn't work externally for me but did work internally? The answer FYI is to move the 150k from the base to ground to the base and...

Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
I just made the HK BL ppm test. I'm happy to report that a new stock BL installed does not kill the trainer ppm out when the TX is off and a trainer cable is plugged in. What does happen is the BL does not light unless the power switch is on and this is not done when it's a trainer TX. I even revers...

Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
so has anyone decided if the stock HK BL causes a trainer PPM out issue?
I'm not sure what the subscribed and transcribed post mean?
I'll be trying to find out today if it's true to be factual.

Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
Charles b original post RCG Turnigy 9x #12455 Training plug hardware ? We was trying to get a PPM output on the buddy box plug on the back the 9x. Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
After rereading my post I too am now confused? I believe that I tested this and I got no PPM out with the unmodified HK BL and using it as the slave untill I did the jumper mod. Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
It's been posted here and on for sure RCG. Charles a member, found that the HK BL board is etched wrong and ties pin 3 to pin 5 as well as the 470 ohm resistor. This puts tx battery on pin 5 full time bossing off the PPM out transistor as I remember it. The fix it to cut the trace from pin 5 and ju...

Re: How to use er9X with/as a buddy box trainer
The "ppm" fix is only needed if the stock FlySky or Turnigy rf modules is used in the trainer TX. The original modules load the 9x PPM circuit too much to be able to drive two loads, the master and trainer. The load it always there if the modules are plugged in. The resistor raises the loa...

Re ppm polarity Mike, I was asked about using another brand TX as a trainer for a stock 9x as well. Hi Westy, yes I was trying to answer your post. To repeat what I'm saying, All models of the 9x TX trainer jack output and also want an input trainer signal of 5 volts peak to peak. Most other major brands of TXs work at 2 v signals. A 1 transistor level changer is an easy way to do that and it wor...

Re: LiFe Battery Pack
I was asked what if the LiFe battery needs to be stored with a certain voltage like lipo's. Since it holds it's charge for a year I don't think a lower voltage is needed for storage but I can't find any info on that. Also, for those using lipo's in their TX, what about a storage charge state? Suppos...

Re: Simulator Jack
Please clarify your comment. I think your asking if the 9x can be the trainer to let's say a dx7? I'll try it with a stock 9X as the trainer and my DX7 to see if any level conversion is needed in that direction. The 9x er9x FW allows the 9x PPM to be inverted so only level should be in question. Ma...

Re: Simulator Jack
While we're talking about trainer jacks and 9x, I posted a while back somewhere that gruvin posted a level changer 1 transistor fix so other brand TXs could be used as the student box on the 9x. The 9x wants to see a 5v ptp PPM input and outputs 5v PTP PPM. Most other brand TXs output 2v PTP PPM and...
