Re: No joy with 9x transmitter and SmartieParts SP Basic firmware programmer for Er9x install
Very odd. Since we knew the GND and RST pins were making contact, and they are on the "outsides", that means either the SP board is bowed up in the middle or your 9X is dipping down... either case seeming bizarre as to why. Or perhaps one of the springs in the pins failed. But... with 2 bo...

Re: No joy with 9x transmitter and SmartieParts SP Basic firmware programmer for Er9x install
This has been one of the most problematic cases I've come across. And as he says in the first post... I'm stumped. We assumed it was a faulty programmer so I sent a replacement, but no change in behavior. I suppose it is *possible* to get two bad programmers in a row... but then that strange device ...

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade fix broken 9X
This has actually come up a lot. At least 2 dozen people have contacted me directly asking this very question. A few have just gone ahead and tried it, and at least two of them have reported success while several others reported failure. It really depends on what happened when "the event" ...

Good point, I didn't really think about printing. Symbology, perhaps, instead of color. I think you got my point though.Daedalus66 wrote:By the way, we'll use color where feasible, but the manual has to work in black and white.

Just throwing this out there... is color coding a possibility? Or make use of some symbol for each platform?
Or, perhaps, just ignore the hardware-specific options and let the project document it?

Re: Not in a safe throttle position...
How is that possible? That's the whole point of calibration. If your pot goes from "97.5" then after calibration it should show 100% because that's YOUR specific 100%. As someone suggested above, perhaps you're forcing the stick down/up further during calibration then you are during normal...

Re: OK, let's document this!
We're all on the same side :) To be clear, I didn't start this thread with reference to documenting ERSky9X. I intend to start a Wiki specific to the 9Xtreme. Discussion of the ersky9x manual came slightly after, and that's great if it covers everything. No way it would be (or should be) only for th...

An update for this. I received the damaged board and repaired the pins. I still get the exact same behaviour as described earlier by fxsti. Menu, exit and directional buttons ALL work to clear the alarms screens, but NONE work once at the main screen. 2 of the 3 pots work (HOV.PIT does not). None of...

Re: OK, let's document this!
That's where a wiki will become very helpful, moreso than a forum. As long as it is logically structured, it should allow people to continue to add guides for every little thing so others can drill down to what they need without being bogged down in stuff they don't. It also allows ANYONE to author ...

Tx (transmitter) sends to RX (Receiver).. I believe it is pretty much standard? And logic? ;) The sentence you wrote doesn't translate into an electronic standard, no. Logic falls apart too, because it depends on perspective. I feel like we've been through this before. We're talking about the 2-wir...

Re: 9X TX not able to read SD card but PC is able to read while in Bootloader mode
Just formatting as FAT32 is not enough, a full format is probably required to use with ersky9x In your case, that appears to have worked for you. But I suspect most have done nothing special. I know I didn't. So it will be a recommended action if people seem to have SD issues, and thanks for sheddi...

Which, as I've said many times, doesn't matter worth a lick. It could be rated for 100W but if we're only putting out < 0.5W then we're only putting out < 0.5W. Again, it is *rated* for 1.7W... that's the max it can output. The speaker is *rated* for 0.5W and that's the max it should handle. It is f...

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation
Mike, Steven, are pins 14 and 15 the ones for COM2? Edit: Mike beat me to it. Those are the UART 3.3V non-inverted Tx/Rx and, from previous discussions, I believe that's what you've referred to in the past as "COM2". Also, not using a level converter won't destroy the 9Xtreme, right Mike?...

Re: 9X TX not able to read SD card but PC is able to read while in Bootloader mode
From his description I don't think "it" did happen to both cards. I think the issue was the larger card was not formatted as FAT32 (and once it was, it worked) while the other card is likely a non-standard card. Perhaps a very old or perhaps a wifi card or one with software (security, encr...

Inspect the 9Xtreme's 9-pin header for a bridged solder joint, particularly between pins 4 and 5... but check every adjacent pair of pins just to be sure. None should have continuity, but I suspect yours might.

Can you please clarify what switch exactly we're talking about? "roll" depends on how you have your sticks set up. So is it the left or the right? (edit: Actually I guess it has to be the right since you said "burried to the right" and "outside")

An XJT using s.port can handle 16 channels on its own, so I suspect this is a matter of a DJT doing channels 1 thru 8 and the XJT handling channels 9 through 24?

The connector on both ends of the cable are JST "ZH" plugs. For example, I found this listing on eBay . It doesn't state explicitly, but I'm assuming the other end of the cable are bare wire but you can take two of them and splice them together. You might be able to find them cheaper becau...
