I'm also interested for more details about the LDO regulator mod. I saw once one on rcgroups with a detailled powerboard redesign, but couldn't find it anymore.

I found this picture in rcg (I should read the whole thread from there).

Easystar, where are you located in Europe ?
There should be at least one Turnigy/Eurgle/FlySky 9x owner in each RC field
Ask him help.
Also, maybe open the module and check the antenna wire. It might be cut or badly soldered.

Re: Confused by the speaker mod
I finally did the speaker mod. This thread helped a lot. Some pictures and vids from there shoud go to wiki IMO. The speakers inside the toys were all magnet speakers, like 8 ohm 0.25W. So I chose the high impedance Dell mb speaker. Same dimensions and look than the 9x beeper, but it's a piezo speak...

Well, I'm not convinced by the PiSpkr. Still almost the same kind of sound.
What should be the difference, is there any youtube (with sound) vid for comparison ?
Thanks.
EDIT: ok, found this.

Re: Confused by the speaker mod
OK thanks.
I'll try the PiSpkr as is first.
I'll check the Dell cylinder with a dry 1.5V cell. I measured about 49 ohm with a multimeter. It should not sounds if it's a speaker, right ?
I'll see what's inside the other toys.

Confused by the speaker mod
I did some search but I couldn't find any detailed info about the speaker mod. It looks like as obvious to you that there is no much to say. So I'm confused. First, what's inside the 9x that makes beeep if it's not a "speaker" ? I'm assuming that the beeper is monotone, it only makes beeep...

Could "durex play vibration" motor be used ?
Motor and battery are sealed so once battery is dead motor could be "reused" elsewhere.

I have the DHT-U.
It has its own screen.
Still could it be used for the frsky/telemetry mod by displaying and beeping info on 9x screen ? (DHT-U screen would be redundant but it doesn't hurt)
Thanks.

Re: dsm suggestions for the er9x (apparently already on c9x)
I'm not sure to understand what was and what is.
But I should just know that, from current and future er9x releases, servo travels (or throws, or ranges) are/will be the same for all protocols, and we should take care with those linear micro servos, either from horizonhobby or hk supermicro. Right ?

Re: dsm suggestions for the er9x (apparently already on c9x)
May I jump here and try to understand what is this about ? I have er9x-r760 and just used it for the first time in actual conditions with a plane that was previously bound with a DX6i. Using the 9x resulted in much more servo travel. Not an issue for this plane, but it will when I'll use spektrum's ...

Re: T9X mod to use Flysky module, Frysky module and DSMX mod
There are at least two reasons for using supermicro with Spektrum transmitters: channel order (TAER) and servo limits.
With 9x stock firmware throttle can't be set to ch1. With er9x, servo travel must be limited to 70-75%, otherwise the tiny linear servos may fry.

By the way, I'm using two A123 M1 2300mAh LiFe cells with a LDO regulator in my 9x. That would be the definitive best choice if the stock 5V linear regulator is a LDO one. Is this the case or did you changed it ? If it isn't LDO, could we insert and additional LDO regulator in parallel with the ori...

Spektrum Airmod might be the cheapest option to get 7-8ch, and you get a 7ch rx with it. Also plug & fly, no modifying/soldering required, but no model match and less fun ;) Purchasing them is another issue, but it looks like Spektrum is still distributing them. I got the HP6DSM for 20€, cheap ...

Thanks. I know that helifreak thread, I removed the 2 wires inside the HP6DSM. It might work for sim but it doesn't in master/slave training configuration with the 9x.
