Reverse polarity mod on plain 9x.

Hi guys, I fitted the diode in the small green PCB of my 9xtreme radio years ago, but I wonder if, for a radio with no 9xtreme, the diode needs to be fitted on the same place. Yes? no? Maybe?

Thanks, lol.

That was it! Thanks! I am very happy I got it working.

Hi, I took some pics. I also added the diode for reverse polarity protection.

Yes to the pins, and yes to just the third switch leg to those pins. Mike Hi Mike, I managed to solder to the processor pins! Pfew! I think it looks ok, but the first 3 pos switch I am testing is not working. First of all I am working in the AIL switch, which goes to pin 43. I tried with all option...

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

Well, the radio just arrived. I fitted the blue screen and flashed 9x. I tried with the 128 version and surprisingly seemed to work well! Maybe turnigy is fitting the 128 processor again? I am decided to try to solder the main processor for adding two switches. I attached one pic. are the ports I ma...

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

To connect to the processor pins I use a small piece of stripboard glued to the main board. I then wire to the processor using single strand "kynar" wire, then use normal, stranded wire to the switch. A picture of this is on this post: https://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&...

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

If this is a completely unmodified 9X, the there are 3 "spare" processor inputs available, so you should be able to change 3 switches. The spare inputs are: PC0 Pin 35 PB7 Pin 17 PG2 Pin 43 It should be a case of swapping a switch, connecting the existing ground and signal connections (gr...

Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

Hi guys, I have to modify a 9x radio for a friend, and I wonder if it is possible to replace 2 position switches with the 3 position ones to the plain 9x, and how to do it. Of course it will have er9x flashed. The more 3 pos switches the better, but two should do the job. My first idea is to replace...

MikeB wrote: Tue May 05, 2020 9:36 am I assume you only get this error at power up?
I'll look at the code, this encoder is sharing the signals that connect to the EEPROM, so there is a possibility I have something not quite right at start up.

Mike
Hi Mike, yes, I have seen the error only when powering the radio on.

Bad Eeprom error. 9xtreme/encoder.

Hi, I think this will be a thread for Mike. After installing the encoder via the arduino and that port in the 9xtreme, from time to time, and I think with no reason, I get the bad eeprom error, so things are erased from my radio. Thanks to you, guys, I discovered it is possible to create copies of m...

Re: Is this receiver compatible with the Irangex multi-module?

In my opinion you won't need gyros, you need someone to teach you how to fly. You do it alone, with or without gyros, you will crash it at best, or injure someone, yourself, or damage some property at worse. Get an RC simulator for your computer. But the most important is as I mentioned above, find...

Hi guys, mi wife told me I am getting my first rc plane for my birthday and I am super afraid of crashing it. I have read a lot about gyros and definitelly I am going to need one. Re: What else can I upgrade in my radio?

Yes, always backup your radio's eeprom regularly.. Basically every time you change something. You can backup the eeprom to the computer (recommended), and also to the SD Card. As you might also know, you can backup models to the card or computer. João Will do! Both, no doubt of it. Some of the mode...

At the other hand, this is how my radio is looking at this very moment. It might not be super clean, but there is not a lot I can do with so many wires.

Anyway I am very happy with the end result :)

Re: What else can I upgrade in my radio?

Hi, I just attached the file here.
When connecting the radio to the computer, I have seen not all of the models are gone.

Anyway, the most importan question is: Why that eeprom error?

But no probs, I will take it as a way of super clean instalation and I will start from the very beginning again.

Re: What else can I upgrade in my radio?

You have the encoder connected to the analog inputs (A2, A3 and A4), not the digital inputs (2, 3 and 4) that are down the opposite edge of the board. The display shows correct communication. Re: What else can I upgrade in my radio?

For the encoder, the switch goes to IO4 and the two encoder signals go to IO2 and IO3. If the encoder "goes the wrong way", swap these last to signals over. The encoder and its switch also need a ground connection. I'll post a test version of erskyTx on the test versions thread, first pos...

Instead of fitting something between the encoder and the PCB, I am going to sha...
