Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Re: X12S with Ersky9X -- ok, all understood - I need to get a new SD card this morning and it's wet and unpleasant here today, so I guess I'll have time later (our time) to go through this process.
Thanks for the info - much appreciated.

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Hi Mike, My X12S has arrived and I'd like to remove the FrOS from it and install Ersky9X. I found this thread: https://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10402 for installing onto a new QX7, but nothing specifically for the X12S. While I assume most things will be similar and I have prev...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Mike,
When you have time, could you 'ping' your FrSky contact for some resolution on the MLVSS bug, please? I'd like to remove the unneeded current sensor from my B17, to get some weight out. Edit: and free up some space in an already crowded battery bay :(
Thanks and regards,

Re: [FIXED!] XJT beeping

Found some chips (locally in Oz -1 week by post), found a local clubmate who can do the work - will see how it turns out in about a week or so. Hi Mike, Well, my USB-to-Serial Port Adapter arrived and I made a cable to go from the DB9 serial to the inline RS-232 connector on the back of the XJT modu...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

My 'suspect' XJT module has gone off to FrSky in China for warranty repair/replacement - hope they find something concrete and actually fix it. Separate of that, while casually looking around for a fairly new X10S at a good price, through a funny set of circumstances I managed to pick up an almost-n...

Re: [FIXED!] XJT beeping

Hi Mike, Well, my USB-to-Serial Port Adapter arrived and I made a cable to go from the DB9 serial to the inline RS-232 connector on the back of the XJT module (omitted the +5V, only included Tx, Rx, GND). With the module continually beeping, I did a fresh BIND in D8 mode on a D8R-XP receiver with on...

Re: [FIXED!] XJT beeping (SWR: RF output to the antenna)

Thanks, Bob, for the added detail -- always helpful to all to have extra info. Please see my response to Mike - I thought the readings might point him to something else as a likely suspect. I'll now wait for an adapter to test out the 'D8' alarms. regards, ozphoenix SWR is a measure of how good your...

Re: [FIXED!] XJT beeping

Thanks, Mike - it is as I thought - just wanted to be sure that it did't point to other things for you. I'm hoping for the USB-to-serial adapter in the next 7 days - will see if that helps solve it. My other (losing connection intermitently) XJT module has gone back to FrSky for warranty repair - ho...

Re: [FIXED!] XJT beeping

Hi Mike, Any feedback about my SWR readings? Also, I have ordered a USB-to-Serial adapter, to try the software correction, as pointed out by you in the post shown here: Re: XJT beeping by MikeB » Sun Apr 23, 2017 8:52 am Most likely this is caused by "D8" mode alarms. Try the following: Se...

Re: [FIXED!] XJT beeping

Holding the radio in my hand with the antenna away from me, SWR=0. Closing my fist around the length of the antenna, SWR ranges from 15 up to about 32, depending on how much of the antenna is covered and how tightly I hold my fingers in the fist around the antenna - more and tighter gives higher SWR...

Re: [FIXED!] XJT beeping

I have two XJT modules with different problems, but I only want to deal with one of those modules here. One of my modules started this beeping constantly mid-last year, so I bought another one, which solved the problem, obviously. My beeping XJT beeps whether it is in my 9XRPro or my QX7 and it beep...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

That fixed it, thanks. Strangely enough, Cu5 was the only one displaying 'blank' (or anything other than the correct 'Cusx' label) but when I went to the Telemetry|Sensors screen, all of the labels had rubbish (special characters) in them - Cu5 had what appeared to be spaces -- but Cus5 was the only...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Mike, Using r222d3 - is there anything special about the field/label 'Cus5' on the QX7 for r222d3? On my 9XRPro, if I try to select it from a list (say, Telemetry or Scaler) it appears in the list where it should be and is set to the place I am trying to use it (in r222d3). On my QX7 using r222d3, t...

Mike, Could you produce a test version for QX7 which includes the Cls1 and Cls2 totalling for the 1st and 2nd MLVSS devices, please? Re: ERSKY9X Coding

I prefer the X10S to the X12S because it's newer, is lighter and has the Li-ion battery (versus NiMh of X12S). But, I prefer ErSky9x over OpenTx or FrOS. If colour and marketing 'freebies' added in to make a sale were irrelevant to you - that is, a radio to radio choice -- if you could have a new X1...

Mike, Pardon my ignorance in the following question(s), but I usually only pay attention to things related to ErSky9x on 9XRPro and QX7 (I have each). Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Thanks - my module bay in the 9XRPro is already lined on two sides with pieces of foam double-sided tape (but with the outer side still covered with the protective covering) to give the module a snugger fit - I made it that way as soon as I got it several years ago.

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

I did, I do and it was in failsafe with motor stopped, but a sidewind overcame the slight rudder I had mixed in. It glided ever so softly and straight and level - straight into a big tree 350m away, across the other side of a creek from our field's boundary. Fortunately, we are able to walk across a...

Ok, Mike - thanks for the feedback - with a little luck, you can get the time to resolve. One flyaway is enough  That said, if you do not get time to resolve it for a while, i...
