Re: Open TX voice and Pot 3 problem on stock Flysky
The saga continues. Tried downloading open TX with only a single option ticked, FrSky. Managed to read back to 68% before error. Switched on TX, EEPROM formated, and in calibrate menu, disconnected Pot remained at 100 %. Now remains at 100%, and not interfered with by other channels. before was stuc...

Re: Open TX voice and Pot 3 problem on stock Flysky
Ok, been busy for a while. Removed all the wires I added to the board, no change. unsolder-ed the 3 wires from the pot in question, still no change. none of the 4 stick axis or 2 remaining pot movements interferes with each other, but they all still affect the output of the other pot, even though it...

yes, I put the latest firmware on at the weekend and again this morning. It writes the firmware, but gets an error trying to read it back.

Re: Open TX voice and Pot 3 problem on stock Flysky
Each time I flash the radio, it formats the eprom so no data in it.
Re " Then create a complete blank eeprom in companion and flash it to the radio. "
You mean like writing back my models to the radio, but with no models in the file I write back?

Re: Open TX voice and Pot 3 problem on stock Flysky
So what I propose is to remove all wires from the mainboard that I added, leaving all wires connected at other end to megasound 9x, and then check channels and pots work correctly. If they do, add the wires back on the board one by one, checking functionality after each new wire. I presume the only ...

Re: Open TX voice and Pot 3 problem on stock Flysky
Ok, have looked into this a bit more. I created a model with only 3 channels, 1-3 and source for these channels is pots 1 -3. It appears pot at top left is 1, pot at top right is 2 and pot at front left is 3. problem is pot 2 pots 1 and 3 control servos in those channels fine, pot 2 only moves servo...

Re: Open TX voice and Pot 3 problem on stock Flysky
Hi, I know the system announcements will work, its the non system announcements I meant. e.g. to make the aileron switch say 'aileron rates high' I had to use custom function SW = AIL, Play track 164. I could only do that because I knew track 164 was 'Aileron rates high' With the Taranis, the files ...

Re: Open TX voice and Pot 3 problem on stock Flysky
Thanks. I suspected I had the wrong voice pack, I got it from the link on the megasound 9x site. That one came with a word doc saying what each file was, the new one I have downloaded but not yet installed via companion does not. How do I know which wav file is which. I had tried calibrating, but I ...

Open TX voice and Pot 3 problem on stock Flysky
I haven't used my Flysky since the Taranis was released. I am now going to pass it on to a friend, so I finally got round to the last two mods, backlight and voice (already done the telemetry.) I installed the Megasound 9x I bought a while ago, downloaded latest companion, and flashed version 2.0.12...

I just had my hi precision vario connected to X8r and Taranis lock up for the first time.
This thread mentions performing an upgrade to the vario, are there any instructions for that anywhere?
Thanks

Re: Throttle elevator mix
I had the same issue with my Piper Cub. I assigned the amount of elevator compensation to a GV, and then assigned that GV to the throttle trim, which is not used as the model is electric. In flight, I first trimmed the model in a glide with no power, and then applied cruising power, and trimmed the ...

Hi,
I tried this function, but because I always have my trims crossed to the opposite stick, I can't use it. The instant trim doesn't take this into account, and trims the wrong channels

Re: setup expo on it's own switch
I use a 3 position switch to assign value to a global variable, e.g. 50%, 40% & 30%
Then when I set up the rates, I assign expo to that global variable.
So I can change rudder, elevator and aileron rates individually, but the expo of all three at the same time with one (separate) switch

Re: Taranis charge circuit
When I did the telemetry mod on my FlySky, and had to solder to two of the pins on the IC, I made myself a tip by getting some 1.5mm copper wire from some electrical cable, stripped the insulation, folded the end a couple of times to bulk it up to fit in my iron, and filed the other end to a needle ...

I set up timer 1 as THt 00:00 which counts up from when you first move the throttle This times the flight I set up timer 2 as TH% 00:00. This gives an indication of how much motor you used. If the whole flight was at full throttle, times would be the same. If whole flight was at half throttle, T1 mi...

On a similar note, I also kept loosing bind with Frsky non telemetry receivers bound to an external Frsky module. It became such a pain I gave up trying to use the external module, and replaced all my non telemetry receivers with ones that could use the internal module

Re: Taranis failsafe
Trying to set fail-safe on my X8R. Rx manual says press f/s button briefly, less than one second, but this has no effect, when I turn off Tx, receiver holds last position, i.e. throttle doesn't cut. Can X8R fail-safe ONLY be set via radio ?

Quick question on the connection details. "f you use multiple ESC's or BEC's and your X8R receiver shares a common ground with them, you do not need to connect the ground on the analog-in pins." I have 1 LiPo, connected to a single ESC, which plugs into channel 1 on the X8R. Does that fit ...

Re: High precision vario doesn't seem to work ?
Hi,
Have ordered a couple of those to try out. The manual with the vario seems to suggest it will also work with D8R-II plus and D4R-II also. if that is the case, presumably I could still use my existing voltage sensors?

Re: High precision vario doesn't seem to work ?
Ok, figured that out.. Long press of enter key, then reset telemetry. So now I have my X8R connected to my high precision vario, which is connected to my Frsky hub. I have plugged the temp sensor into T1, and can see the numbers increase on the screen when I warm it up. So the hub seem to be working...
