Re: er9x development
I understand you Mike.. :) But it is the DIY part that I am missing.. :( I always enjoyed trying making my radios better than the commercial units.. With your development, that was achieved a few times :) Actually, if the commercial radios, specially Frsky, are where they are, is because of people l...

Re: er9x development
Well, Mike, I do understand your decision and cannot blame you for doing that. :) But, many of you haven't seen me so often here on these forums since quite a while. I think it is time for me to explain why. When er9x came along, I really got excited about the idea of building my own radio with a ve...

Re: 9XR PRO Bricked problem
Nice that you have fixed it. Well done..
Yes, as said above, you can just short that resistor.
There are a couple situations that caused that resistor to go bad. One of them is inserting or removing the RF module while the radio is ON. Always turn the radio OFF before you do that..

Re: 9XR PRO Bricked problem
Doesn't the blue light also turn ON?
Also, you are using a 2s battery? How did you connect it to the radio? The connector on the radio is for a 3s battery as far as I remember? So I guess a 2s balance charge connector won't work?

Re: Pro voice stops, screen locks, controls lock
No, been building some audio stuff for my work ( musician). It is also fun, I love sound and lights. :) The problem is that with the arrival of all these new radios there isn't so much DIY anymore. This is what made me enjoy the hobby even more, building my radios and receivers, and all the other el...

It looks like I will have to remove some dust from my 9XR PRO and update it
It won't be today though..
Need to get back to model flying again.. Been busy with other stuff.

Did you update to the firmware to the latest?
Did you try to remove the voice files you added? basically go back to the voice pack you had just before this started to happen..

Re: Charging port.
All you need to do is to wire a suitable P-Channel MOSFET across the existing protection diode, source to the charger input, drain to the other side of the diode and gate to ground. You may wish to find a MOSFET in a wired package (e.g. TO92) rather than a surface mount device. Just find one that m...

Re: Charging port.
A while ago, I have designed a completely new switch board for my 9x radios, that had reverse polarity protection on both power and charge circuits I think.. It would also keep the radio ON if the switch suddenly failed and made some bad connection. I need to search my old files.. actually, all my r...

Re: Taranis X9E, how know which component it is?
MOSFETS don't like to be working very close to their maximum gate voltage. They will eventually get destroyed. I remember the Ar9x board used AO3401, which has a Gate/Source max voltage of 12V, and I thought it was quite low.. The latest version used the AO3407A (20V). This Transistor is very cheap ...

Re: Taranis X9E, how know which component it is?
Hmmm, that Mosfet seems to have a quite low Gate-Source maximum voltage, only 8V. I think I wouldn't use it to switch the module power in a radio. Does it have any protection on the gate? A zener diode for example?

Re: Frsky Hall Effect RPM Sensor ?
A few years ago I have built an oXs (OpenXsensor) with RPM sensor. You need an Hall effect switch and a couple magnets. I think you can tell the code how many magnets you have installed. And I actually never finished this project 100%. It consists of a Battery backup system, the RPM sensor, an onboa...

Re: Open TX Companion writing models - flashing done with errors
I believe OpenTX no longer develops for the 9XR-PRO radio, and actually the current versions have problems that were never fixed. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.
I recommend using ErskyTX that is still being developed for this radio.

Re: Flashing a M128 on stock 9X motherboard
You probably need to slow the programming clock down, this is done by adding -B 10 to the AVRDUDE command. In eepe, go to the Burn|Configure menu and put -B 10 in the extra arguments field. Also, I recommend going in to the Burn menu and selecting "Set Fuses to Protect EEPROM", otherwise ...

Re: Flashing a M128 on stock 9X motherboard
Yes, the m2561 and Er9x is the way to go. It even supports the MultiProtocol module. and as it seems you are comfortable with electronics, you could even build a voice module for the radio. Er9x even supports adding a couple more switches and/or changing a 2 position switch to 3 position. It is very...

Re: Flashing a M128 on stock 9X motherboard
You can only flash the 9x radio with that code if the radio's processor IS an Atmega128. If it has an Atmega64, it will not work as it has half of the memory.
No idea about the eeprom error. Is that during the flashing process? Strange.

well, it looks a bit better than the other antennas, right? But were you having that low RSSI that close to the plane??? I don't really like the placement of your horizontal antenna. Is the Logical switches delay in the logical switch setting already or still at the bottom of the screen?
The new functions will allow us to simplify some of the models I suppose.
Thanks
