I'm running at 12MHz with 5V at this time. I don't have a FTDI board, I just have a USBASP.
Actually, I don't need the bootloader since I won't program the sound module using the serial I/O.
How do I do it with USBASP?

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
If I program the sound module using USBASP, should I combine both bootloader and firmware hex into one?
My sound module has no extra serial line for external PC or FTDI card.

Depending on the outcome of the experiment, we may need to redesign the board - Mega-IO 9x?

Rerouting the trim switches should be (slightly) easier than FrSky telemetry mod
I'll try this weekend and keep you guys posted.

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
Note that the trim switches are rerouted on 9x board not to the Megasound board.
You need to cut the traces of PIN27 and 28 and reroute those two trim switch signals to unused pins in the same Atmega.

Re: Alternatives to FrSky FrUSB-3/FUC-3
Not quite. The diode is in the wrong place. The S.Port signal should connect directly to the 10K resistor, not through the diode. The diode should be in the 'other' signal line. The SPort signal is really bi-directional, the diode blocks the low voltage output of the Transmit data while the logic si...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
I see... is it for Kyocera LCD? What's good about that LCD? If we control the voice card thru the serial interface, we can get rid of the strobe signal generator and save two transistors and several resistors. If we restore the backlight connection without going thru the voice card, we can add anoth...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
Yes, if you don't need to read data from LCD, you may tie down LCD_WR and use PC4 for a trim switch. However, I see the LCD read statements in 'lcd.cpp'. Why do you need an additional CS for the different LCD? Can you tie one of CS signals to permanent active state? Any problem using LCD_RES? CRIUS ...

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB
At present, I can't think of an automatic way of disabling the left vertical trim when the voice module is in use for file transfer to/from eepe. Mike. Beacuse pins 27 and 28 on the processor are still connected to the trim switches, the signals on these pins are loaded by a 200 ohm resistor to a 0...

Re: er9x development
One possible theory is eeprom may get corrupted if I turn off the TX while it's writing back to eeprom.
And the next power up, TX will see the checksum error and reinitialized the eeprom with the default values.
I shouldn't turn off the TX while cursor is blinking.

Re: er9x development
Happy New Year!
EEPROM got wiped out when powered up.
I've experienced at least twice on two different transmitters based on the 9XR board.
What's the possible cause of this problem?
I'm using the latest test firmware.
Thanks.

Re: Eepe software failing to open on Mac OSX 10.7.5
Current eepe for Mac is built from the latest OS/X Maverick and apparently it's not backward compatible. If you upgrade the OS, you shouldn't have any problem. BTW, OS upgrade is free and 10.7.5 (Lion) entered the end of product life meaning that Apple will no longer offer the security patches soone...

Enjoying super stable 10.6.8 may not be safe since Apple no longer provides the security patches for that version.

Re: Eepe on MAC
You can download it from internet. Here's one I have.
By default, qmake creates a xcode project file and you need to build it from xcode ide.
If you want to build it by using make, do:
edit eepe.pro by adding CONFIG-=app_bundle at mac {} (line number 104)
qmake -spec macx-g++
make

Since TheObstacle didn't answer the call :), I've built and tested an eepe-r393.dmg. One problem of the eepe is its setup dialog is too tall and it doesn't fit to 11.6" MacBook Air screen which is 1366x768. It would be nice if we split the setup dialog box into two pages/tabs. I also tried eeps...
