Re: Pitch, Roll and Accel Values

OK - I will try and find some more information about the way Open Tx is handling this. Pretty easy, it took me only about 4 years to find out ;) (and still not 100% sure) radio/src/telemetry/frsky_sport.cpp has the sensor definitions, the last number defines the number of decimals (precision). But ...

"sketch\oXs_curr.cpp:55:91: warning: division by zero [-Wdiv-by-zero]" is only a warning, you can ignore it (or switch warnings off in Arduino IDE). Please do not overthink it, there are only 4 steps to do in Arduino IDE: board, processor, port, ---> (click right arrow). You should see &qu...

Re: openXsensor slimsize GPS Vario for DLG and F5J

Hi, D6 is kind of "hardcoded" for us users in oXs_gps.cpp. No need to specify it explicitely. All user configurations can be done in oXs_config_basic.h and oXs_config_advanced.h. Mstrens wrote detailed instructions in oXs_config_description.h Everything should work out of the box. Place GP...

Re: openXsensor slimsize GPS Vario for DLG and F5J

Here is another sketch with mstrens latest changes (Galileo and SBAS). Vario sensitivity can be increased using oxsppm.lua. The sketch has also some changes to transmit number of satellites and HDOP (or is it PDOP? I'm not sure.) #define ACCX_SOURCE TEST_1 // NumSat #define ACCY_SOURCE TEST_2 // HDO...

Re: openXsensor slimsize GPS Vario for DLG and F5J

A few days ago mstrens added Galileo and SBAS support to GPS configuration. It seems to be even more precise now. I have tried to walk an "OXS" and a checkbox pattern on a small (4m) street. Downloaded the latest master and pasted the config-files from this thread.

Would you have the hardware connexion schematics ? Sorry, but everythimg is pretty much standard. GND --> RX GND RAW --> RX VCC (5-10V) or VCC --> RX VCC (<5,5V only!) D4 --> RX SPort D6 --> 8-10k --> GPS RX RX --> GPS TX VCC --> VCC GND --> GND A4 (SDA) --> GY63 SDA A5 (SCL) --> GY63 SCL VCC --> V...

Re: Gspd: 3D speed with GPS and altimeter

Your log looks strange. Eventually there is an issue with antenna placement/bad reception. You can verify GPS signal quality with some changes in the code, to be able to see and log number of sats and PDOP. File openXsensor.ino: Change these lines // ********************************* Calculate all f...

Re: High(er) resolution current sensor

Yes, of course, this is the standard approach. The workaround with ADS1115 is cheaper and more precise. It does not need any code change in openXsensor. Mstrens prepared this solution already in his code, i only wanted to show a complete, slimsize build and configuration.

High(er) resolution current sensor

The Lantian-100A-ACDC-Linear-Current-Sensor-Hall-Current-Sensor-Module is cheap (about 6$) and precise. It's size can be reduced to Arduino pro mini size. Still there is the disadvantage with it's 2.5V offset. The voltage output is 2.5 to 4.5V. The 10bit Arduino resolution gives only about 0.2A curr...

Re: OpenXSensor 2 batteries with 2 cells voltage problem

As proposed two sensors with different sensor ID is the way to go. If you want to stay with one sensor, you can make a workaround with an ADS1115 using it's two differential inputs for the second battery transmitting the cell voltages in A3 and A4 field for example. A calculated sensor can be used f...

Re: GPS & Arduino Pro mini

Our German forum has a very active oXs community and therefore a good overview about troubleshoting oXs. Mstrens GPS routines are working perfect, not a single glitch. If there were issues, they were hardware or user related. Is Arduino indeed connected to SPort on antenna side? Some, including me, ...

Re: GPS & Arduino Pro mini

Did you verify, that power is indeed connected to Arduino VCC? Some Arduinos have a huge regulator dropout. Feeding them through VIN/RAW with 5V results in a low VCC voltage.

Now my question is, is the RSSI telemetry Feedback i get on my screen only for the Master RX or will the Slave RSSI also be sent over the SBUS to the Master and shown on my screen. There is a little workaround to see RSSI from XM+ too, but of course only if the G-RX8 telemetry link is active. Conne...

Re: GPS & Arduino Pro mini

Everything seems to be OK. Eventually you did not give enough time to establish a sufficient sat fix for oXs. To be sure, place the GPS outside for 10min with free view to the sky and then start sensor discovery. If this fails also, try with another GPS unit.

Re: Airspeed sensing with TEK probe and diff pressure sensor planned?

I am using the Hacker DUPLEX Pitot-Tube with only 3mm diameter. It is smaller than every TEK probe i have seen or built myself and is very easy to remove. Only 1cm guiding tube is needed on the mounting position. At the time, i also suggested to mstrens to (mis-) use a TEK probe for airspeed measure...

Re: Airspeed sensing with TEK probe and diff pressure sensor planned?

From my point of view the openXsensor approach is much cleaner. No TEK-probe needed, airspeed is measured with a pitottube. TEK vario vspeed gets calculated, users can switch between compensated and standard vario and energy compensation is adjustable from TX.

Re: Pairing RC receiver with FrSky X9E OpenTx 2.2.1

Seems you have different D16 protocols in TX and RX, D8 works, because there is only one. If devices are from Europe, there is a good chance to have LBT firmware installed. To be sure, update your TX (internal XJT) to 170317 FCC (=NoEU).

Re: ACS758LCB Current sensor

Some ACS are labeled wrong and are indeed bidirectional. You can try to change MVOLT_AT_ZERO_AMP to 2500 and test again - or measure analog out first with a DVM. Eventually your Horus (FrTX?) has an issue with negative numbers (simply guessed)

Power supply is perfect. If you want, you can measure VCC with a DVM and change the line 118 (advanced): //#define REFERENCE_VOLTAGE 4970 // set value in milliVolt; if commented, oXs will use or 1100 (if internal ref is used) or 5000 (if internal ref is not used) into #define REFERENCE_VOLTAGE xxxx ...
