Re: er9x development
This afternoon I wired the ELE switch as a 3 POS switch for idle on helis. Many thanks for this great addition, it was really missing on the 9x ! Am I wrong if I say that this switch default position should be up and not down ? (to have no warning at startup/model change) I wired it exactly like the...

Re: er9x development
For the 128 and 256 there could be an option in "General" : "Show hardware menu" ON or OFF.
It would be off by default and satisfy everyone's preferences.

I could flash without the cap, but I preferred to replace it by a capacitor of same value (higher voltage).

I also had little problems when I replaced the 2 M64A by M2561 on my TXs : http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=3819&start=180 Now I use myAVR ProgTool for the flash, and eepe for the EEPROM, no problem doing like that. But the other thing (I can't explain it) I had to do was t...

Building your own radio system is possible but it's a lot of time and investment ; for example the site of someone well known here who has built his own radios for more than 50 years ! Everything is DIY from programming to the radio case.

Re: Control gyro gain with throttle trim
The mix works as expected with output steps of 0.8, perfect ! :D Only in eepe : in mode 1 it seems that Ttm follows left vertical trim instead of throttle trim (I had to use Etm as source of GVAR) What about having the options : OFF/exfine/fine/medium for Tr. trim instead of ON/OFF ? The direct cont...

Re: Control gyro gain with throttle trim
To resume, if I understand well, if I use :
+50% GV1 Offset 50%
...the channel output will go from 0 to +100%, and with "Throttle Trim" on, I will have a step size of 1 ?

Re: Control gyro gain with throttle trim
Yes it should do the trick : tail lock gains are between 0 and +50 on the gyros I have, so no need for an offset.
I'll try all that this evening !

Confusing but convenient !
Or perhaps the new switches/buttons (PB1/PB2) Mike is working on will be more adapted for doing this ?

Yes I confirm they affect in r815 & latest r817_test.
I agree with you, perhaps it would be better if the trim inc. settings were inhibited in that case ?

Control gyro gain with throttle trim
The new manual gave me the idea of controlling gyro gain with throttle trim on helicopters and I find it wery usefull for adjusting gain during flight. Throttle trim is set to off in mixers, as a source of GVAR1, and GVAR1 as a source of CH6, gyro gain for me. It work very well. But I have to set th...

Re: er9x development
Hi to all, I'm trying the latest test version for atmega2561 with serial link only. It's strange : since I updated it seems I can't serial communicate between PC and Megasound 9x : I tried to list models on the SD from eepe, only the first model appears and I can't receive it (comm error). Entering ...

Re: Replace 5V regulator
Hi Bob,
No I don't have the Smartieparts board.
My programmer was working OK with eePe/avrdude and M64A, but not with eepe/avrdude and M2561, I don't know why.
Using myAVR ProgTool to flash the M2561 solved the problem.

Re: Replace 5V regulator
I finally found the way to flash the chip correctly ! I flashed the mysmartUSBlight with the latest STK500 firmware but it did not work. So I decided to try their own soft (myAVR_ProgTool) to flash the .hex file and it worked : reading flash OK - all the buttons are now OK on the transmitter ! Thank...

Bob : setting the fuses is OK, I have a problem at flashing verification. I have read all this discussion before changing the chip and it was very helpfull.
So I'll try to get a USBASP programmer, and post the result !

No, I was using version 5.11. But you're right with avrdude : I've just tried version 6.0.1 & 6.1, flashing is OK, no error at all, but the transmitter doesn't boot at all ! I don't have trim problems, I did the mod described here (analog/dig ground mod), but the transmitter shuts down with no r...

I did the sound9x and frsky mods, but I'm not lucky with this mod, perhaps I damaged the card.
It won't be safe to fly with it, think I'll buy the 9XR pro. Will my eepe model files be compatible ?

Re: Replace 5V regulator
Thanks Mike for the information. Kilrah : the programmer is working, I finally found that the 47µF capacitor on the RST line had a problem (bringing RST from 5v to 1,5V) After replacing it I could set the fuses : it's OK. But when I try to flash : ====================================================...

Re: Replace 5V regulator
The chip is powered by the programmer at 5V, it was OK with M64 before changing it.
I'm afraid the 2561 is bad or burnt at mounting it.
Should there be activity on the 16MHz crystal when the board is powered ? I have 0V on oscilloscope.

Re: Difference between D8R-II plus and the D8R-XP ???
Hi, I just flashed my D8R-II plus with 27ms FW, and now it works fine with my FBL controller in cppm mode.
I also have an older D8R-II (no 'plus'), do you think I can flash it too ? The only difference with '+' seems to be A1 divider, am I wrong ?
