Re: taranis wont turn on

Is it constantly conected to the battery? If yes did you check it didn't drain the battery when unpowered?
No balancing/protection circuit on the battery? Would want a little BMS there too...

Re: Jumper T12 Open Source 16ch Radio with JP4-in-1 Multi-protocol RF Module

Anyone can use it in PPM mode. And anyone can use it in PXX mode if they just ask FrSky.
It is just pretty unlikely someone who just made a blatant copy of an FrSky radio will have the balls to ask them.

Re: X7 - LDO or CPU broken

The normal total current consumption at 7V of an X7 with internal RF on in D16 mode and no external module is 150mA with backlight off and 175mA with backlight on at 100% brightness, aka 1W-1.2W. RF off is 100mA less, so 50mA with backlight off and 75mA with backlight on, aka that's all the CPU and ...

Re: Taranis Signal Interference With Bluetooth Audio?

Note that audio bluetooth would transmit a LOT more than the modules that are used for telemetry, difficult to compare.

Would recommend to at least put the audio BT module as far as psossible to the radio's module and antenna.

Re: Taranis Signal Interference With Bluetooth Audio?

A cable or component can be failing in your setup, doesn't matter that it's worked for ages. Both Bluetooth and the FrSky system change frequency dozens of times per second, it's almost impossible for it to be the cause of a loss of control. And since your failsafe was set then it would have kicked ...

Re: Taranis Signal Interference With Bluetooth Audio?

That's why I asked about failsafe. If he had set one and it didn't take those positions then the issue is very likely a power problem onboard. If he didn't set one then firstly it's very bad practice, and secondly nobody will ever know the true cause.

Re: Taranis Signal Interference With Bluetooth Audio?

It runs on the same frequency so it is possible, but since it is close to the radio's transmitter what would be more likely to be interfered with is the telemetry downlink (you'd have "telemetry lost" messages), not the uplink to the aircraft. Did the aircraft obey the failsafe settings you configur...

If something else than the CPU is drawing too much then it would be getting warm as well. Check for anything warmer than normal, including all the pots.

Re: D8R II plus in PPM mode

SBUS is fastest. PPM and PWM are the same, unless you can switch the receiver to fast PWM in which case it would be inbetween SBUS and PPM.

If what you want to control supports sbus then yes. Faster as well.
Some of the new receivers also have PPM outputs if needed.

Well you need the switch PCB to turn it on, you can disconnect the RF module but it shouldn't make a difference.

Re: X7 - LDO or CPU broken

You should measure the voltage at the output of the regulator e.g. across C518. Guess is the LDO is faulty and probably passing 5V straight through instead of regulating down to 3.3. It probably does so with some internal resistance which has prevented the CPU from blowing up but it's certainly not ...

Re: Impossible to flash Taranis X-lite with eu-lbt firmware

You have flashed OpenTX, which doesn't matter beyond hiding the D8 protocol selection.
What you need to do is flash the internal module with the EU version of the "IXJT Lite" internal module available on FrSky's website.

Re: Unable upgrade to 2.2.2 on LinuxMint due to dependency error

Sorry, can't really help.

You can download and install a newer version of Qt directly from Qt, but that then installs side by side with your current one and I don't know what's involved if any to specify which one to use for what.

You need to flash the D8R-XP firmware, then look at its manual for jumper and plug positions.

Re: Unable upgrade to 2.2.2 on LinuxMint due to dependency error

Which Mint version are you using?

This is one of the biggest pains with linux distros, if your distro comes with outdated libs it is a nightmare to get newer ones. Need to find other sources that provide newer versions and add them to your sources.list, update or completely change distro.

Re: Servo will only travel one way

Every time you want to make a change you should read from the radio, do your changes whether modifying something, creating a new model or copying one from another file, then write back.
Keeping a local copy as backup at this point is indeed a good idea too.

His whole problem description is precisely that it's always starting on the first sequence item instead of the last mode he was on when powering off like he wants. You have probably not used the correct read-modify-write procedure and erased your stick calibration. Just recalibrate the sticks on the radio.

Re: RSSI Telemetry Value on G-RX8 and XM+ redundancy mode

Telemetry comes only from the main RX and yes you will lose telemetry if it switches to the backup. This however only happens if the main receiver loses signal completely, there is no signal strength comparison.

The switches on the back are ONLY active when feeding the module with PPM.
When feeding PXX their positions are ignored and the settings come from the radio.

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

A FET is controlled by voltage, so leaving the pin floating is bad since any stray signal can turn it on. A BJT is controlled by current, so won't turn on unless something actively pushes current through it.
