Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Doh. I just realised Companion ver.1.52 and higher can export logs containing GPS information in google earth format. What could be easier.

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Yes I also did some long term tests with r2940 before I flashed the latest unstable code. It was also stable on my Taranis. I don't know what's up with Neil's telemetry log but I'm sure now my sky9x issue is unrelated and is a FW bug only in the sky9x version.

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Interesting. I've been getting these altitude glitches too. I set up a custom play function to play the altitude voice message whenever it changes by more than 30m and every so often I'll hear a sick one like 20,000m etc. I got that on my sky9x and if memory serves it happened with taranis too but ...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis

Versions are the same for both the firmware and companion from now on. Does that mean they have to be the same to work together though? I burned the latest unstable Taranis FW using companion 1.52 so I am guessing the answer is no. Bertrand directed me to this thread for the solution to issue #169 ...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis

Why am I running V1.99 on my Taranis then? I downloaded both the sky and tarainis versions yesterday from the Mar 22 nightly build.

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis

I am slowly writing a wiki page for Lua scripts on OpenTX. It's here: https://github.com/opentx/opentx/wiki/Lua-scripting-in-OpenTX You will be able to download and run the classical snake game at the very end of the page ... in case you broke all your planes ;) Will it be possible to use telemetry...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis

I can't burn the mar 22 build to sky9x. I just burned r2940 no problem so I know it is not a driver issue, and I can read the flash no problem but every time I try to burn the v1.99 bin I get a SAM-BA error.

Any ideas?
Joe

Edit: This is with companion 1.52 r2381

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Thanks for that Michel. There are so many threads going on this forum, hard to keep up with it all. I got it working the way I like. I had to use 3 logical switches to keep the silent band. It works like a real vario now.:) The audio is still glitchy but that's not an issue I guess. Now back to oxs ...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Where is this extra telemetry setting? I don't see it. I am running ver 1.99 from the Mar 22 build. There is one new line says top bar and a check box for altitude (don't know what it means) but the rest of the vario telemetry settings looks like before. Variometer source is limited to Vspd, A1, A2,...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

I got the build from last night. The audio is worse! haha. It never shuts up now regardless of where I put the thresholds and it is super glitchy sounding. It sounds to me like interrupt driven background code is playing havoc with the audio output. I got the one for the 9x as well but I haven't bur...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

@mstrens I made a comment on issue 670. Then I saw the issue is closed so I opened a new issue! I wonder if this problem is related to the false high altitude glitches I mentioned here a few posts back. I have been paying attention with Taranis and oxs and it doesn't seem to be happening. It is uncl...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

I'm sorry. I am such an idiot. I forgot I am not using my own oxs PCB for these tests but rather a pro-mini clone. I am pressing the reset button, not my own button connected to pin 10. DUH. I only realized this when you said about the double flash.

I am sorry I wasted your time.

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

I also noticed a glitch with the vario telemetry. I think this is a fault in the tx firmware. When I set my vario thresholds as -3, -0.7, 0.0, 3 then any time the actual vspd field displays 0.00 I hear fast beeps as though the climb rate is very high. if the mid threshold is at any other value, this...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

I can report the following with the latest oxs code you posted here (9 posts back): The fuel gauge with offset works fine. :) The persistent storage is broken. With the EEPROM line commented the fuel defaults at power up to 100% as expected. After some seconds it decreases. The push button on the ar...

So the offset and negative multiplier is the trick for fuel gauge I see.

I'll test this evening and post back here.

Thanks again

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

I know there are various makers of GY-63 boards and arduino pro mini clones (I got mine from dealextreme) but just for the record I did some measurements and found that the dropout voltage on my pro-mini is about 420mV and on my GY-63 board about 150mV. This means I expect the MS5611 pressure sensor...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Double regulation is fine as long as there is enough headroom for both regulators but all regulators have a dropout voltage which can be from hundreds of millivolts to as much as two volts depending on the type of regulator. Just as a random example, suppose your regs have a 1.5v dropout. You need 3...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Thanks Joe The voltage is pretty stable measured internally with Michel's code, I've noticed in my case the altitude is always positive and is linear with time. It's not serious enough to effect VSpd which main function of vario. This might be a little misleading if the supply rail to the processor...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

@NeilRogers Hi Neil, just another possibility to consider re your altitude drift. All these pressure sensors are very sensitive to power supply voltage. If you are running low enough that the regulator is dropping out of regulation then your altitude will change in relation to the sag in your batter...

Re: Taranis - speaker buzz - fixed

I haven't noticed a bad noise from my Taranis which I got a couple of weeks ago. Having built a few amateur radios and fiddled with a lot of RF stuff my advice would be to replace the wires to the speaker with shielded type, or remove the shield braid from some coax and use it to shield the speaker ...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Guys I don't know if you saw my point in an earlier message. If the timer0 interrupt is delayed by a higher priority interrupt service, since the timer is still running during that time period, the timer registers contain the exact number of cycles by which the interrupt is delayed. The timer can be...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

Well I was curious so I threw a crude hypobaric chamber together and threw the system in and recorded a few climbs and descents using a 100ms log period. Seems like the v-speed is being logged just fine. I guess the file Neil posed logging at 500ms on the slope wasn't just showing much obvious. If a...

Re: OpenXSensor SPORT Interface

I wonder if he meant that the timer value is negative? The interupt flag goes up when the timer underflows right? So if he read the timer value before the MSB changed he would think it was a negative value. If he is using an emulator on the arduino in the atmel IDE he could be talking about the time...
