Re: Binary with Mavlink extension for beta testing
Screen 1 INFOS is correct so 38kb is working. I see the APM2 boot up properly and get the heartbeat indication
Screen 2 does not display any data. all fields are 0
Screen 3 is getting proper data.

Re: Walkera DEVO 8S RF Module
No, other side just ground plane. No uC. 8s must control cypres chip via spi. But that can be a plus for us ! I did find in the manual the power is adjustable from -5dbm to +20dbm via software. It also reads all kinds of telemetry. We could even have this module do the spectrum stuff ! Heck, with th...

Re: Walkera DEVO 8S RF Module
The shiel came off easy. Just do one end at a time. Just 4 blobs , one at each corner. I am getting close to powering it up. I'll try 3.3v then 5v and then 9v and 12 while measuring the voltage regulator output. I am pretty sure it is a 3.3vdc reg. I hope it's just serial data on mosi and msio pins....

Re: DSM2 work
The one problem I have is the initial bind process. Takes several minuets sometimes with turning the tx on/off holding training sw several seconds. No splash or warning screens turned on.
Any help here ?
Load rev 736 Blade mQX Quad. (flys great with 9x)

Re: DSM2 work
Yes it is high power, but the 5vdc in the er9x has a lot to spare, thus 5 > 3.3 is ok. You can use the battery voltage if your not sure.
I use a 2c lipo so I have ~8 vdc on battery side.

Re: DSM2 work
C12 and C14 are the input and output caps. Can also be reused. + is 5vdc or so input and 3,3 is the regulated 3.3 vdc output. the - is the ground side of the regulator. The diagram is good.

Re: DSM2 work
You need a separate 3.3v regulator. Run it from the 5v line in the TX. I have a bunch of 1.5A 3.3v regulators. That is what I used. Sens me a SASE and I'll send you one along with 2 10uf caps you will need.

Re: DSM2 work
Boy is it fun to fly my Blade quad with the er9x ! One thing I noticed is the THR and ALE switch doesn't work, then I realized I didn't do the hardware mod of moving the 2 wires on this er9x. I have 3 of these things now so it's hard to keep track of what I have done ! Flying the quad with the er9x ...

Thats what I thought also Pat but the inv does not seem to do a thing on the quad in the X configuration. I will try to put it into the + configuration and see if it helps. Also the YAW is reversed.

Re: DSM2 work
Well things are working ALMOST...left and right on the quad are reversed. I have tried INV on ALE and ELV and it seems to have no effect. I haven't tried the rudder control yet. It should be the YAW. But overall, flying my mini quad with the er9x is GREAT. I bet the boys at the hobby store will be i...
