I'm pretty sure - i've read somewhere, either in the manual, or withing the rcg forum thread related to frsky, that FrSky ppm frame length is recommended 18ms for the standard speed, and 9ms for high speed. I myself use 18ms, and no problems.

Whilst using anything other than 3S LiPol/LiIon it is extremely unlikely to encounter such a condition.
So, using 2s lipoly, 3s life, nimh, alkaline, is absolutely fine.

Steve - i have a diy headtracker connected to the PPM input, so there is no need to have a separate PPM input dedicated for headtracking. Wilst you can do PPM injection - separate input is not needed.
