Re: DSM2 work

Back when we were working on this I tried various things to get more than 6 channels, nothing ever worked.

Re: Heli Swash Ring

HI Mike, just heading out to work, so not a lot of time to think about this. I can't comment on the twice applied part, but I think the way you describe expo affecting the result is as it "should" be. If the goal is to simply simulate a ring on the gimbals then expo applied after the limit...

Re: Extra 3 position switch

In a 5 volt circuit the most a 2K2 resistor could consume would be .011 watts , so 1/4 watt is more than enough.

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for pre-2.0 testing

For me, and thats my opinion, surfaces that have to move differently on the model (ailerons), should also move differently in the simulator. And surfaces that move in the same direction (flaps) should move in the same direction in the simulator also. Finally change the output for the servo with ser...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis

Doesn't make sense to use + and - for aileron, since 99% of the time they are mirror images, so both servos have to rotate in the same direction. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk The sign of the weight must be different for the differential to work properly. It is also most logical this way, so ...

Edge: it is a single impuls or Puls with setting of Delay and Duration German: Puls 3:0 2:0 It is not quite delay and duration. The two numbers define a "window" that the input has to be true for. If it is matched then the output is pulsed. So if it is set up as 1:2 then the pulse will on...

That would only let you control a servo with the new switch, not do all the things you can regularly do with one.(D/R, flight modes, etc)

Even if they have not added anything specific for this you can always use the custom switches.

Nice idea on the differential. It will be interesting to see how it is presented on the main mixer screen, which is already pretty busy.

Use timer 2 for high speed audio, timer 1 just for 10mS I'm not getting this one?? ;) drinkin too much beer lately I suppose   This probably refers to the mcu's timer peripherals and how the firmware uses them, nothing that a user would ever have to know about. :)

Re: er9x development

How does the differential option for the mix curve work? Is it a way of getting differential without using a curve, so different rates "up" and "down"? I am going to have to dig into the GVARS, have not even looked at them yet and it seems like it could be quite powerful. Pat Mac...

Re: [OPINION needed] Mixer arithmetic overflow prevention?

The following is an even worse situation: CH05: +125% THR offset(125) CH05: * CH05 switch(ELE) Every time through the mixer, channel 5 is multiplied by itself resulting continuous end to end switching due to overflow. This is true on both open9x and er9x, I just tried it in C9X and eepe. I would th...

Re: er9x development

In an ideal world the centre value of the pot would be the average of the value at the two end points. But in the real world it might not be. :) Having the stick calibration routine get three points to use in interpolating the stick position from the analog input will be more accurate than just usin...

Re: using 4-ch template results in 8 ppm channels

The short answer is that applying a template only affects the mixers, not the radio setup. So if you want 4 ch PPM, and possibly at a different frame rate and delay, you would set it separately. You could then copy this model to another slot to have everything preset the way you want, then apply a n...

Re: er9x development

I've disabled pot scrolling as soon as I found it existed. As a option on it's own I don't like it much because we're using a control that can be used to change the model flight characteristics for the radio settings, meaning I'd be using the pot to scroll and later leave it outside the position I'...

Re: Proposed changes to protocol labels

No typo, LP5DSM2 was one of the early donor transmitters, L ow P ower, 5 channels DSM2 operation. Sold with the CX2 I think. (Sometimes called LP5DSM, but it is of course a DSM2 transmitter, not a DSM one) Correct, it is DSM2 only, and DSM2/DSMX auto select. The modes come from the DX4e manual, page...

Re: Proposed changes to protocol labels

One more comment - some have suggested that the Orange module makes the DSM2 mod obsolete . With respect i disagree. So far there is no sign that it works properly, or that it has FCC/CE approval. The DX4e module is a known quantity, has FCC numbers, is inexpensive and works perfectly with ER9X. Dit...

Re: Walkera DEVO 8S RF Module

Back to supporting the walkera module. I would just free up the port B lower pins for SPI. Then move the button using matrix rather than dedicate pin for each button. It need 4x4 = 16 buttons. It will slow down scanning each key though. Sounds like you have a plan - time to start rewiring and codin...

Re: Walkera DEVO 8S RF Module

That is my conclusion as well. :) I also see the point of doing this being less and less. It is not like Walkera has great products, or even better ones than Blade. For a while the Solo Pro was thought to be better than the MCPx, but since then then Blade has come out with the Nano and the 130. Add ...

Re: DSM2 work

My thoughts - the main reason IMO for using DSM2 is for the BNF planes. And none of them need more than 6 channels, so a DX4e module is the best solution in this case. Electric helis are fine with 6 channels, and so are most aerobatic planes. If you want better RF link than the stock FlySky, then Fr...

You are right, I did not make it quite as clear as I should have. As you say, Tmain is once through the main program loop. Each time through the loop it does everything you say, including a complete calculation of pulse widths. I was going to mention something about the cycle time being affected by ...

Re: Tx Resolution/frame rate insigniifcant!

This is not exactly correct. :) ER9X (and the others I assume) runs the encoder calculations as fast as possible and it is not synced at all with the frame rate. You can see the time it takes to read the sticks and calculate new pulse widths by looking at "Tmain" on the STAT2 screen. It is...

Re: DSM for dummys?

A couple of reasons for using the SMD part.
-The 000 part can be put in with the standard process.
-They might have allowed for an actual resistor in the initial design, and then changed to a jumper.
