Should be fine. The three on one side are for the encoder, the two are the push button switch.

He might mean 20 detentes.
If there are only 3 connections to the encoder (and it is a mechanical switch type) then it is incremental.

Re: Could we avoid to kill a module donor ?

If I'm wrong then I don't understand why sending PPM through trainer port works while sending PPM directly to RF module wouldn't. The PPM signal into the "donor" is not simply sent directly to the RF module. The microcontroller in the transmitter has to measure all the pulse widths and th...

Re: Could we avoid to kill a module donor ?

Model match, range check mode, lower latency. Plus who would want to drag around two transmitters? FWIW indoors (and outdoors with my MCPx) I use the LP module from a Vapor transmitter. No way to do a trainer port connection on it. To me the various cheapo DSM transmitters have no value outside of t...

Re: Re: New Features Wish List

I would like to see fully assignable trims, with flight mode capability on all of them. Look at the Futaba 8FG programming for example. The trims are just another set of inputs. You can use them as inputs to the "functions" (sort of like ER9X mixes), and also use them or other switches as ...

Used XP9303 are usually ~$200.
Not sure you can even buy them new anymore.

FWIW, erazz developed the heli specific mixers, including swash ring feature, not Thus.

Re: Alternatives to 9X ? seems to me not so much

Used JR XP9303. Same modules from the 9X will fit.
Very powerful programming. Not as versatile as ER9X, but will do almost everything you would normally want to do.
Much better build quality than the 9X.

Re: New feature: PPM servos settings

FWIW, at the core of this is the way ER9X handles the limits and offsets. With almost all other radios when you adjust the subtrim/offset the end points move with it, moving the entire range of servo motion. ER9X compresses and expands the two sides instead. If you want equal travel you have to adju...

Re: Collective pitch adjustment mixing

"Add" will adjust collective over the entire pitch range. You can do a in flight hovering pitch where it only affects the pitch at mid stick by using a more complex mix. Some details here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17285212&postcount=4694 But for basic setup I would...

Re: 12ch on HPx Spectrum modul's?

I have a Dx4e and an AR8000. Putting in 8 channels with the ER9X firmware did not work. I did not try the stock DX4e with the AR8000, but since it only puts out 6 channels I didn't think it would have to adapt its output. What would be an interesting experiment would be to try an AR9000 with the DX4...

Interesting. Do you know if the DX4e module can do this? I don't have a DX5 module to try it with. Do you have a link to where this information was found? I tried fiddling with the 4 bit "number of channels" field, but it seemed to be ignored in the modules and receivers I tried it with. O...

If you wanted to duplicate an existing model and not have to rebind then you would need to be able to set it to a number that was already in use. Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

Good question!
Model match uses one byte, so 0-255 would be the limit. I would have to do some testing to make sure it is using all the bits.
I think for safety the number should default to the model slot number and deliberate action be taken to override that.

Re: ERSKY9x Rev. B1 User Area

What I was thinking was that you could set something so that changes were not stored, but just kept in RAM. Then if you like it you go back and turn the setting off. Another option would be to set aside one or more slots for model back up and provide a save/restore function. However all you really n...

Sounds like a single step undo might be possible, since there is 8K set aside per model, but only 4K used?
Or perhaps a "don't save this model (yet)" option if you don't like the changes you made?

Yes, they are calculated in the order they appear on the screen.
This does not make any difference with ADD mixes, but makes a big difference if MULTIPLY or REPLACE is used.

R stands for "Replace", not "Reverse" When activated that mix replaces all the ones that come before it for that channel. Quick lesson on the three types, ADD, Multiply and Replace. Generally you use ADD, Example CH4 100% RUD + 10% AIL Switch(RUD) would move the rudder servo on c...

Rotary encoder needs two lines, plus perhaps one more for a switch to choose your selection. Lots of them have this additional switch incorporated into the encoder. The encoder outputs 2 square waves 90 degrees out of phase with each other. By monitoring the transitions you can tell the direction it...

THs doesn't work if you are flying a heli upside down :) The problem is that if you have the throttle hold on then the timer starts when you move the stick, even though the motor did not. And if you just use throttle hold as the trigger then it starts when the stick is down in normal mode, again the...
