Taranis and flight simulators
Just wondering if any of the developers have used the Taranis with a commercial flight simulator like Phoenix etc? Seems to me a little guide on the settings for the most popular Sims would be a good help to new users of the system as they could "fly" their new model before trying it out i...

Re: Any Taranis flying videos?
Like any new product it gets tweaked right at the last minute after testers in the field and factory find things that need sorted. I expect there will still be minor teething problems for the first few months at least. You only have to look at the service bulletin pages of any of the big radio manuf...

Re: Model Artwork for Taranis
Scott has pointed out the requirements for images in his last post and it may be that my efforts will prove unsuitable for the Taranis. The Funcub and Radians may need reworked.

Scott,
Here's a Funcub but I don't think I got the conversion to bitmap correct, so please take a look at it. Have attached the original as a jpg too so you can see what it looked like as a greyscale image.

Re: Time for an Operating System Change
Works! I just hadn't tried the manual update route as I thought they hadn't been done for the Mac since Groot's last update, which was a long time ago. Will give it a good run now to see how it works. EDIT Downloaded a new firmware file with different settings and successfully flashed to the TX, rea...

Re: Time for an Operating System Change
Hi Kilrah, Did work fine on Snow Leopard. c9X version 0.97 R1382 Sep 2, 2102 I have not updated using the auto update because when I first got it working forum member Groot was making new versions, AFAIK the auto update did not work on Mac then. If I untick any of the prefs shown on the attached ima...

Re: Time for an Operating System Change
I used PClinux for about 5 years on my old internet machine. It was easy to use and recognised hardware without any nonsense that often happens with Windoze. The machine died in the end and for some reason I ended up with a Mac ;) I love the Mac OS X too, it just works, sadly however C9X is not play...

Actually... You will not need a license as the range of these things is only around 3 meters. All the low power FM transmitters for sending music etc to your car radio are now legal in UK subject to a certain power limit. Problem with them is that you meed to select a "free" frequency whe...

@flaps30,
Thanks for the info on the voltage settings.
I take on board fully your point about drift and noise on threads, I guess it is human nature to digress a bit. I can't say there is an easy answer but perhaps renaming and moving pertinent threads to a beginners area would be a good idea.

Wow"! I certainly started off an interesting thread. At the risk of being controversial I consider myself almost like a beginner who has just bought a 9x/Taranis. If you look at this thread it may give an indication of just how busy this forum will become when newcomers ask the same questions. ...

So scroll down to there, where it says 0.0v. Press menu, then use the right key (- if you haven't switched them) to make it 19.8v. Trying to set this up on my D8R-II (not plus have the add on FRSKY voltage sensor). In my case I am using a 11.1V lipo to power receiver and servos, so wondering what i...

Re: Skin Solution for EZ model Setup
Please keep going with this idea. The one thing that new users of the 9X radios and indeed the new Taranis will want is an easy programming interface. I am guessing many who will be interested in the Taranis radio will have second thoughts about buying as they will see the programming as a major lea...

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
Just keep in mind that after performing a flash operation, the tx will automatically reboot. After that reboot (without you turning it off/on), TelemetrEZ will deliberately wait 15 seconds. its not a bug. Turn the radio off and back on and the switches should be immediately available if you've got ...
