3pos switch question

Rob Thomson wrote:I guess this then leaves the questionable point being the DM9 module.

I wonder if you could get any leverage by playing with the PPM frame length and number of channels being sent?

Rob
Now you're talking above my head! I'll have to read up on that.

Re: 3pos switch question

Hmmm Well we can be safe to say that regardless of the module used.. the comms between the firmware (open9x) and the module is all done with PPM. So no actual change at this point. The DM9 should not be doing anything odd with the ppm. It simply takes the PPM stream and passes it down the RF stage ...

3pos switch question

Aaaaaaaand the turnigy module works fine, not even a hesitation. So evidently I've found a bug in the dm9 module, or the open9x software or how the turnigy communicates with the jr module.
Sucks.

Re: 3pos switch question

So I just ran the servo test. the 3 pos works fine with a servo plugged in. Also, the rx/hardware works fine with a different radio. So...I suspect maybe the jr dm9 module may be to blame? I guess next test will be with the stock turnigy module & 8ch rx. I made some videos of my tests. Let me kn...

3pos switch question

Sorta same result. I deleted the 3 mixes on channel 5 & set limits to -100/+100. Then I created a new mix: Ch5 Source: 3pos Weight: 100 Switch: I left this as "---", should it have something there? Multiplex: replace The only response I could get was when I set the weight to -80, then ...

3pos switch question

I'm using an ar100e in the ac & a dm9 jr module on my turnigy. The hardware on the ac (rx+gyro system) work fine with my hp6dsm, so I'll try playing with the weights. Thanks for explaining max vs 3pos. Do I need to set a switch to activate the mix? & should the multiplex = replace or somethi...

3pos switch question

I think you it is more likely the mix being wrong / not setup correctly. The rx will pick up whatever is sent to it - so if it is not picking up the signal, the mix is not being applied :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think you're 100% correct, I have no doubt it's user error, but still no ...

3pos switch question

You could also look at the limits as the pulse timing. -100 is equal to 1000us, and +100 is equal to 2000us. Your mixer line should look like this: -100% HALF Switch(ID0) 0% HALF Switch(ID1) --This line isn't nessesary, but it reminds you what happens when the switch is in this position 100% HALF S...

3pos switch question

So I played with the limits til I'm blue in the face & still (partially) defeated. I was wrong in the post above. The fy-30a is in mode 2 (1200-1800uS). -100 to +49 gets no response for ID0. +50 puts it in mode 1 (1800-2100uS) at ID2. Somehow I need ID0 to output a 900-1200uS response to put it ...

3pos switch question

Ok, found the bars menu & it does indeed show the 3pos on channel 5, so now I'm really stumped. I'm guessing it's a limits adjustment?

3pos switch question

First step, confirm on the "bars display" of the home screen that the correct channel is indeed moving when you flip the switch. Then, you might need to adjust the end points (on the LIMITS screen) to match what the fy30a wants. Hmmmm...talk to me like you would explain things to a retard...

3pos switch question

Ok, trying to run a 3 axis gyro (fy-30a) on channel 5. In the model menu under mixes I have ch5 set to '3pos' (I'm running open9x-r828). The 3 positions should command "off" (ID0), stabilize mode (ID1) & heading hold (ID2), however, there appears to be no response on the channel. When ...

One more dumb ? - model delete?

Ok, the wiki/manual says the model delete is on the model setup page (2/9), last option. however, my setup page's last option is ppm frame. Can't find model delete anywhere! Grrrrr!

Reverse ailerons?

Ok, can't find this answer on the net. How do you reverse ailerons? I've set up 2 models so far, I'm using a dm9 module & ar6100e rx's. One is a 3 channel cub & the other a 4ch hellcat. On the 3ch cub I have the rudder mixed to the ailerons & the hellcat is standard. On both models, left...

Help! New to er9x & turnigys - channels don't match

TAER is def the right order (considering that's how they are ordered on the rx -duh). This radio is def a big step up for me from dip switches. I have TAER set now & the mixes correct, however, throttle still doesn't work (ch1) & elevator is reversed. Haha - thought I'd be playing with curve...

Help! New to er9x & turnigys - channels don't match

Ok, so I bought an already modded turnigy 9x running V2.0 open9x-r828. I installed a dm9 jr module so I could use my myriad of ar6100e's. Bound to the receiver no problem, however, channels seem to be all mixed up. Rudder is throttle, throttle is elevator, ailerons are rudder & elevator is ailer...

spektrum module build question

Thanks for the info guys! I'm starting to see lots of 9ch modules go for less than $100 on eBay. I wonder how much longer it would be worth it to do this project before they drop n price even more?

spektrum module build question

Hi all - new to the 9x forums. I want to add dsm2 capability to my turnigy 9x - I've seen the new jr compatiable spektrum module, but I'd like to see if I could build my own for a fraction of the cost. You can get the case for $12 on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spektrum-SPM6817-Integrated-Case-for-...
