Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Since this requires a hardware modification, it would be better if you add an XJT heartbeat option to the hardware menu and remove PB14 from the switch sources if that option is enabled.

Re: Audio (voice) - Stock 9X PCB

With the cost of the FrSky QX7 being as low as it is, purchasing a new 9X, then sorting an upgrade for it is not really cost effective any more. Ersky9x for the QX7 supports adding 2 extra switches (2-position) to the QX7, and also supports the addition of a HC-05 bluetooth module. I also have plan...

Re: Script Language

Mike, Since most quad flyers move to F3/F4 based FC from old F1 based FC, you may find a "give-away" F1 based FC like Naze32 from your local quad flyers. Beta-flight firmware developers committed to support those F1 based FCs up to version 3.2 (upcoming version) and they are good enough fo...

MacOS will pop up a warning and not allow you to run any unsigned apps to protect you from the malwares.
You'll need to go through a procedure to circumvent the security warning.
Try Googling.

Mike, do you believe that the ersky9x community has enough developers who will write, test and deploy the useful scripts written in "tiny" BASIC? If I had time, I would implement thin C++ APIs for the position independent compiled executable that can be loaded from an SD card and run from ...

Re: er9x development

My understanding is that the main reason there is no capability for users to edit the names of the five (?) flight modes whose parameters can be independently edited in er9x (for display on main screens, etc.) is memory constraints, particularly on the m64. Right now FM 1 - 5 can be displayed, but ...

Re: Voice Packs for Ersky9x

Here's an excerpt of the license agreements of the latest OS/X El Capitan regarding to the voices. Funny thing is, if the system voices include all the generated voices, I can't even use them for my own radio since my radio doesn't run any Apple Software - its binary (hex) file is generated from my ...

Here's how you create the voice files on your Mac. 1. System Preferences -> Dictation & Speech -> Text to Speech -> System Voice -> Customize... Select and download the voices. It may take for a while depending on your selections. 2. Prepare your phrase file using a text editor. I attached 'samp...

Re: eepskye on MAC

I'm connecting SAMBA-based home server every day and I didn't noticed the performance issue. But mileage may vary depending on the hardware. Building an eepskye is simple. 1. Download and install Qt 4.8 on your Mac https://download.qt.io/archive/qt/4.8/ 2. Create a makefile using qmake at eepskye so...

Re: Voice Packs for Ersky9x

If you have a Mac, you can generate all the voice files covering more than 20 countries/50 speakers in couple of minutes. I wrote a simple bash script extracting file name and phrase from a text file and it took about 2 minutes to generate entire English voice files for er9x. That's the way I genera...

Re: Turnigy 9xr Pro, XJT, X4R begginer questions

A 'good' value for the SWR is 0, so this is why you might think you are not seeing a reading. You can try wrapping you hand around the module antenna to see if you can make the SWR read a value other than 0. FYI: SWR (Standing Wave Ratio) couldn't be 0. If there's no reflection from antenna (i.e. p...

Sorry, I don't know about full history of eepskye on Mac. I guess I started building the eepskye for Mac from Mountain-Lion version. Based on my quick Googling, you'll need Xcode 3.2 and Qt4 library to build eepskye on Snow-Leopard. You still can download old Qt4 library, but I'm not sure whether yo...

I just verified that both serial and parallel LCD code work with permanently tied down CS pin. Since PC4 is used as SCLK in the serial LCD interface, I'll assign PC0/PC1 for "on-board" LV trim rerouting option to relieve the serial port in upcoming er9x-v2 firmware. Note that current er9x-...

Re: flashing latest er9x

I think CS can be tied down even for the serial LCD since reset pulse will reset internal shift register and counter after power up. Once these registers are reset, it is followed by a series of legitimate data transfers and it doesn't need to reset those registers again. Since entire LCD data lines...

Let me clarify one more thing: PB1 is a switch name that shouldn't change over the time as we don't change AIL/THR/RUD/ELE switch names. EXT1 is a switch source name which depends on the hardware you have. I don't see any generic hardware resource called EXT1. EXT1 is actually PD7 in er9x's voice mo...

I don't think DS1302 is compatible with DS3231. DS1302 is not an I2C peripheral and I connected it using PC2(I/O),PC3(SCLK),PB2(RST/CE-shared with SD /CS). Internal registers are different, thus they're are not software compatible. DS1302 has 31x8 battery backed-up RAM while DS3231 doesn't. (I'm usi...

Mike, is there any possible situation where both SBUS RF module and FrSky telemetry co-exist? If not, you may share the RAMs with FrSky telemetry code such as FrskyHubData[] which alone is 76 bytes. All you need is defining an union structure and disabling the telemetry code when the SBUS protocol i...
