Re: custom PCB
Great first post!! Longer and thinner for a DLG or anything that doesn't have much space would be nice, but the board is pretty small as it is. Depends how much work the OP is willing to put in on this and his ideas for development. Have soldered a few Atmel chips that size and they are not that bad...

Works great for me with V2.017. Setting up multi flight modes on 2 x 3 pos switchs and can see where everything is.

Re: Momentary switch to change OSD screens
I have channel 8 switching screens on my minimOSD and it works.
Super complicated mix
CH8 TRN 100
This is with OpenTX.
Maybe I'm using too much KISS but it does work

Re: Momentary switch to change OSD screens
Have you turned off warnings in minimOSD? If you have a warning activate, it will force you back to screen 1, and looks like the screen switch isn't working. Just a thought.

Re: Momentary switch to change OSD screens
Go to the mixer screen for the model that you are setting up. Select Channel 8, set the weight as 100 and the source as TRN. Each time you flip the TRN switch and hold for a couple seconds, it will cycle the OSD to the next screen. Have you looked at the minumExtra setups? http://code.google.com/p/m...

I'm also running 5V in from my receiver, and so far it all seems to be working ok on a Pro Mini.
Recall that comment about "Rain Dance". Think I'm going to add a brolly to my tool box.

Re: Introduction to the openx vario/altimeter
I'm plugging into channel 8 on my receiver to get power and sensitivity control. The voltage reading from the openXvario is 5V, because my receiver is powered by a BEC. That information doesn't help a lot. The Mini can take upto 12V raw input, is there a way I can connect to my 3S or 4S battery and ...

In your spreadsheet you have "MinCurrentMilliamps" as the header for 4 different columns. Is that correct or a typo?
Just curious.
This project started out as something "relatively" simple, and has grown exponentially since then. Do you have some more surprises waiting?

Thanks for the hint. Did some digging in the Taranis manual and got it working. Went to "Custom Function" menu, set the switch to be "ON" and the "Function" to be "Vaio" and now I have tones. Took me 2 tries to get anything to work at all with the OpenXvario. ...

Found it. It's a configurable setting in the sketch, by default set to "T2", and it works.
Now if someone can point me to how to get the sound going, I'll be a really happy camper.

Re: Remotly controlling your vario sensitivity
Just finished building my OpenXvario. And it works :). I would like to use a dedicated channel, linked to a pot to control the sensitivity. Got that setup and with a servo connected to the channel, it moves with the pot. I would like to see the sensitivity on screen. What field do I use for display?...

A wild guess. Was the one from HK a 60 cm antenna? The long ones are set up like that. Interchangeable with the other antennas.

Re: FrSky Distributor in US
For Canadian orders, as long as they go USPS then no problems, however if UPS or Fedex are used, we get charged customs duty + brokerage fees. I've had to pay $80 on a $150 order, so you can understand if we try and stay away from those guys.
