Re: Cannot bind X7 with receiver X8R and S8R

The recievers and internal tx module must all have compatible firmware available from Frsky. This can be a challenge. At least for an older X9D there is no combination of tx and reciever firmwares that will run all my recievers.

These are separate from opentx.

Re: Two RX6R rec?

Probably not the problem in my case. The second receiver was replaced with a multiple connector that put the wires even closer together.

Re: Two RX6R rec?

I did not. I had some intermittent aileron servo jitter that was fixed when I went to a single receiver so I didn't pursue the combination further.

Re: Two RX6R rec?

My own tests of this setup were glitchy. But I didn't spend too much time figuring out what the problem was. I was anxious to fly so I switched to a single X8R and a multiple connector to handle the 4 wing channels. It does not appear that this set up will work as I had hoped. Thanks for investigati...

Re: esc won't arm with taranis 9xd+

Calibrate your ESC. Usually power up with throttle full (take your prop off). When the ESC goes into programming mode (series of beeps), zero the throttle. It should then arm.

Re: Replace RS with momentary switch Taranis X9D?

I suspect that replacing a pot would require matching resistance at either end of the travel. I was hoping someone had done it and knew for sure.

Replace RS with momentary switch Taranis X9D?

Is it possible to swap a momentary switch for RS? I'd like an additional momentary switch, not just moving SH.

Re: Back to RC world after 8 years: here what I found in the closet, Turnigy 9X

Yes. I have the same setup and have been using it for years. It's my TX for winter indoor flying. I run ER9X but most flavors of open source software support it.

Re: Two RX6R rec?

So say I have the wing receiver (ail, flaps, gear, motors) as secondary, fuselage receiver (ele, rud, gear, steering, telemetry) as primary. If the primary loses signal, I still have all those servos but my wing servos all go to failsafe? If the wing receiver loses signal, it's servos still go to fa...

Two RX6R rec?

I've used two receivers bound to the same number in a plane to make connections easier. For example, one in the wing and one in the fuselage so only a power connection between the two. I was wondering if two RX6R receivers bound 1-8 telem (master) and 9-16 no telem (slave)connected via SBUS would gi...

Re: Looking to buy a 3D printer

I started with an under $200 kit. Built it and tweeked it to get good prints. In the process you learn a lot. As it turned out, my cheap machine is adequate for now but I know exactly what I would want in a new machine.

Re: Differential in elevator set-up

If the servos are getting the same input but your elevators aren't moving the same then there is a problem with the mechanical set up. Horns could be different heights or different distance from the hinge line. Do the servo arm positions match each other exactly throughout their travel? Sometimes a ...

Re: Data Logging question

opentx-x9d ver 2.2.3 on an early Taranis X9D. I think I have it figured out. I tested logging again by turning off logging for 10, 20, 30sec, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes and 10 minutes. The first four (up to 1 minute off) went all on the same session with nulls between. The rest were logged as se...

Re: Data Logging question

Putting SD logging on a switch allows me to start logging at the beginning of a flight. Once turned on, turning off SD logging does give a string of zero values (which is useful in finding the end of flights) but it does not result in a new session when logging is turned back on. It still seems like...

Data Logging question

I would like to limit the size of the SD logging file and have it broken into just the actual flights. When SD Logging is on, a new "flight" is recorded from the moment logging is turned on until the TX is turned off. Is there a way to record a new "flight" without turning the turning the TX off and...

Re: 3D Printing with PETG Filament (CR10 3D Printing)

I've found that I had to slow the print speed to about 1/2 what I use for PLA. Your temps also seem a little high to me. PETG normally has excellent layer to layer bonding even at lower temps. Dropping the print speed solved a lot of problems for me.

Make sure you have the lastest firmware on both the receiver and the tx module (get them from Frsky). My S6R would only bind on certain numbers so try several.

Re: 3D Printed RC Truck Wheel Rims (CR10 3D Printer)

PETG might be a good filament to try. It has very good layer to layer bonding and it less brittle than PLA. That and increase the hub diameter a bit.

Replace my early X9D with an X9D+ or Horus X10?

I'm replacing my reliable but beat up early X9D. I'm trying to decide whether to get a new X9D+ or a new X10. I'd like to hear from those who made the jump to the X10. How do you feel about it today? Was it worth the extra money?

Thanks!

Looking at the servo he wants to use, the servo can be programmed in terms of direction so one channel and a Y connector seems to be all that's required.

You RTC should not reset if the battery is good and making good contact in the holder. Even with a dead RTC battery mine never had other issues and judging by the last good log file it had been dead for a couple months.
