Re: ERSKY9X on Taranis

Well done Mike!
Keep up the good work, I really appreciate your logical approach.
If you could eventually get DSM(X) support in as well :P
Great stuff, shame they made such a hash of the buttons layout :(

Taranis SWR Survey

I would be really appreciative of results of the following simple test, thanks! a: switch on Taranis (opentx-r2834 internal module) b: press page (long) c: what is SWR? (mine is "0") d: firmly grip antenna e: what do you read now (mine still reads "0" on my new Taranis) My prevou...

Ok, thanks.
No antenna connector on mine. Certainly touching the coax inner makes no difference.
Would be really interested what others are getting!?

Re: Faulty Taranis?

No update has been released so far. I frankly doubt anything is wrong. Ok, I wonder why my SWR meter doesn't work? Isn't this an update? I would love to think nothing is wrong, but I get SWR 0 / 18 when gripped, on Taranis 2 it's 0 /0. What result does anyone else get? http://www.frsky-rc.com/downl...

Re: Faulty Taranis?

Ok Mike,
Thanks for that. I did mean firmware update.
No wonder they didn't bring the pins out the back.
In your opinion, do you think trying an update might fix
the SWR reading? The power output issue seems to have gone away.

Re: Faulty Taranis?

Giant Shark were good as gold when I contacted them and offered a refund. Said I could look inside, which I did of course, prior to returning it. (They have no spare modules) Nothing obvious of course! One thing before I send it off, does anyone know how to update the INTERNAL xjt on the Taranis? Tho...

Faulty Taranis?

Just got a second one, and it seems to have a "funny" with it. The power output seems to fluctate rapidly as shown on my field strength meter, and the indicated SWR is "0" even if the antenna is gripped firmly. The first one is rock solid, and SWR goes from "0" to "...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors

Here's my "low tech" version of your board Mike :P
Works perfectly, thankyou!
The striped wire will go to the +ve esc connector, with the divider resistor fitted there,
don't like megamps available at the receiver end!
Lower end 3k3 and 100nf on board.
Measures 14x20x8 mm :D

Mike, it was different signature every time, like 0x000105, 0xff90ff.
sometimes "target doesn't answer etc.
Putting the -B 20 (avrdude) in seems to have made it 100%

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors

Thanks Mike.
Unfortunately avrdude thinks differently, and tells me the signature bytes are wrong.
I'll maybe try a different 13A tomorrow, but have read of others having this problem.

Brilliant software Mike, I just tried it out with Arduino Pro Mini. Really good is the way you've "damped" the falling voltage so it doesn't alarm with a picosecond  dip of the LiPo voltage :D Good work, thankyou! Clive Reason for project. FrSky have chosen not to put any analog inpu...

Re: How to connect FrSky Battery Voltage Sensor (FBVS-01)

I don't use a FBVS-01. (It is only 2 series connected resistors anyway) Mike's added decoupling cap is a good idea, though I haven't needed it (yet!) I always fit R1 to the +ve connector going to the esc, with a thin wire going to A1 or A2 servo type plug, with R2 connected there. Seems to work fine...

A couple of 10K's perhaps?

Or maybe just wait and see what Frsky do on the latest Taranis (as SM said) and copy it :P

Ok, I'm being lazy here
Did anyone sort out what needs to be done to mod the charging circuit so that
it will fully charge a 2000mah nimh battery with the supplied charger?
Seems to me it times out before it's charged :?:

Re: Rx battery telemetry ???

Well, after weeks of deliberating, I finally modded my X8R for external A1 input. I found you really do have to seperate the two boards. I had to turn up a new de-soldering bit for my adcola vac pump from an old brass adcola soldering iron bit, and drill a 1mm nozzle hole and smaller end to fit betw...

It's not the vario Mike, it's fine in Taranis.
The warbley sound only happens with PiSpkVoice (the only setting the haptic works on!)
and ONLY when pxx is selected.
Have a nice Sunday anyway
