Hi, I just got exactly the same problem with the frsylite module, the transmitter won't start
5 times out of 10. Unplugging it from the cpu fixes it, so I guess I need extra resistance on
the mosi line as well (have 470 ohms at present). I wonder what is causing this?

Pot scroll "funny"
I have just spent ages trying to work out why my tx would start leaping through the menus when powered from an external psu connected to pins 1 and 3 of the main connector while playing with the voice module (no back panel connected) Was OK with it all plugged together. Eventually discovered (r763 f...

Re: Audio (voice)
Is there any significant interest in a proper PCB designed and assembled to provide voice on er9x? Mike. I'm sure there would be Mike, it's a brilliant design :) I would have voted for that myself had I not EVENTUALLY discovered I had a faulty veroboard, 2 tracks shorted, tiny piece not etched thro...

Re: DJT no longer fits the TH9
I found the module didn't line up with the pins on the new transmitter. I cut all that useless plastic away on the back panel first after removing the pcb. Then fitted the module to the pcb with no fixing screws. Then fitted the screws, and resoldered the pins (they were dry-jointed anyway!) Result,...

Looks good to me Mike, though I haven't flown it. CPU themp display is a bit funny, truncated "C". Still puzzled by the 37 degree difference between my 2 boards :? P.S. the menu page number display is also a bit funny e.g. 9/I12 Details I know. Forgot to add, I have the Optrex displays her...

Re: Audio (voice)
I just cut an SD card size hole in the back of the battery box (it's only thin plastic) so I can remove/change it without dismantling the transmitter. Stuck a plastic "handle" to the card with hot glue. Seems fine. Did the stripboard/sound board build like jhsa. What was wrong with the Gal...

Re: Audio (voice)
My er9x is talking to me beautifully, thanks Mike and jhsa! Had a couple of hardware issues, one (self inflicted) fixed. I used an LM2940CT low dropout 5 volt regulator and it needs 22uf at least on it's output to be stable (was giving 6 volts till I tamed it) Second one, backlight does not switch o...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
I found you have to seperate to backlight from the LCD display in order to fit it properly, then
cut the right angle corners off the backlight frame, then fix it all back in with hot glue.
It's worth the effort!

Crucial:
It sounds to me like your 8 ohm speaker is being overdriven, I wonder what the wattage
rating of it is? Maybe it would sound better with a series resistor?

Maybe a socket on the "motherboard" to give clearance for the components?

Thanks for your pioneering work Max!
I will try to copy it to my ersky9x, when I have seen a photo,
One showing the finished result from the front of the case perhaps?
Then rely on Mike (as usual) to get the resolution back
Thanks,
Clive

Re: FrSky telemetry mod without RS232 level converter
And it continues to work perfectly
I wonder if ersky9x board is happy with this modification to the module?
I'm guessing not and I have to not swap modules between the two??
Just a thought, as I have an ersky transmitter here also.
Thanks,
Clive

Re: FrSky telemetry mod without RS232 level converter
Has anyone else done this mod, if so did your alarm beeper work? (PiSkpkr works fine on er9x if you have a speaker fitted) Mine doesn't and I can't seem to find out why :? Clive P.S. Switched it on tonight, and it's working perfectly! Don't know what that was all about, maybe the bleeper itself was ...

Yep, just double checked my work. I read 1k across the new resistor. The blue wire does go to the lower end, not the via?
P.S. Switched it on tonight, and it's working perfectly! Don't know what
that was all about, maybe the bleeper itself was stuck..perhaps.

Ok, I'm using your mod exactly, and it appears to have 470 ohms in the rx line already.
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=430&p=4778&hilit=without+ttl#p4778
I'll try another 2.5k in series and report back.
Thanks for your help chaps!

Re: New features provided by open9x
Have set the range to 13.2v, which gives me 5v indicated, and reads correctly on telemetry screen. Set the alarm red, orange or yellow <5.5v and it doesn't work. Just reflashed er9x and all is well. Ah just noticed it only works with Pispkr set, not with Beeper setting (er9x) I have no speaker. Clive

Re: New features provided by open9x
Just downloaded the latest c9x, installed the latest open9x that it gives me for stock 9x, speaker and telemetry,
r936. I cannot get any alarm on A1, and I only have 1 telemetry setup screen (10/10)
What am I doing wrong, I'm sure it's me!
Thanks,
Clive

Re: ERSKY9X Coding
Well done Mike. It was doom and gloom here late last night when I tried, got the "card not ready" error. However, on REALLY close inspection, I saw two suspicious (but by no means definite) bad joints on the reader, 3rd and 4th from the left. Re-flowed them, and all is well with the 4gB ca...

Clive , There just happens to be differential A/D inputs on the Co-processor , and It can output a reference voltage as well... These can be scaled to provide a full 10bit output across the pots limited movement range. -Its like having a Swiss Army knife in your Radio.. -Brent Brilliant analogy tha...

Re: Aurora gimbal usable ?
Not sure how the sums work out, but would we have as good resolution as standard sticks or not with aurora gimbals,
given modified software? They certainly feel nice, the Aurora ones!
Another thought, would the standard sticks be better with 12 bit?

Re: Aurora gimbal usable ?
"The ERSKY board will work with them. The Pots provide a voltage output , to the A/D inputs , their value does not really matter... 5K to 50K will work." -Brent I agree with that Brent, but the "type" of pots does matter. I looked into this a while ago, if I remember the original...

Good idea that Rob, I used that area on my ER9x transmitter to fit a 10 turn volume control pot for the speaker. Now I have my second ersky running. why does it give me a cpu temperature reading of 0 deg C at switch on? My first one tells me it's 44 deg C in the same room. again at switch on. I'm gu...

I have this programmer. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USBASP-USBISP ... 35ba7d0738
Looks as if it does 3.3v by removing the link. Cheap enough too!
