Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for pre-2.0 testing
Friend of mine has laptop that never would allow firmware update via zadig and we spend too many sessions trying to manually do it .. jeeze. He always had access when connected turned on so could access his microSD card So I did the 2.0 update for him on my laptop -- worked like a champ. EXCEPT now...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for pre-2.0 testing
Sounds like you have the timer set to Beeps instead of Voice. See here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=28623229&postcount=1130 I found a litle bug: Timer2 countdown and say 30s, 20s, 10s, 10s, 10s, 10s, ... Timer1 countdown good work. FW 2.0.2 Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

That did it. I've never seen this documented anywhere, even for the 2940 firmware and earlier.
Thanks.

Re: OpenTX 2.0.0
Updated to 2.01 and the 10 second bug is still there on my setup says ten seconds ten times not 10 9 8 7 6 etc Choose "Voice" as timer countdown mode. I think there is a bug here, unless I am missing something. If I set the timer countdown mode to "Silent", I get a single beep a...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis
Doesn't make sense to use + and - for aileron, since 99% of the time they are mirror images, so both servos have to rotate in the same direction.

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis
A quick answer to Scott: - The wizards have been disabled, and are in the middle of a full rewrite - I just fixed a small bug in companion that limited the length of bitmaps to 8 chars instead of 10 Obviously just my opinion - but I think it's better to release a completed 2.0 rather than a mostly ...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis
'Side' is back in a dedicated branch. I didn't know whether it was still useful. Comments appreciated on this. Absolutely an essential function. Very important for feel, especially for F3A aircraft. We VERY seldom use symmetrical rates and expo on both sides of elevator, and many of us use unsymmet...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis
What is the answer on the missing "stick sides" function?
I would suggest delaying 2.0 until all previously available features can be implemented. It will be viewed as going backwards, unless those features are available.

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis
Thanks, Kilrah. On the new Inputs menu item, where do I find the equivalent of "Side" in the old Sticks menu on the Taranis, or "Stick Side" shown in C9x? It allowed me to set separate rates and expos on each side of neutral. I find this particularly useful on elevator and I also...

Re: OpenTX - Nightly builds for FrSky Taranis
Is this the best place to ask questions about the Nightly Builds and Companion 1.99? Or where would you prefer we ask them? I loaded 1.99 on Windows 7 32 bit, successfully, and have questions about the new Inputs menu.

USB 3 vs. flashing the Taranis
There have been some reported issues with using USB 3 ports to flash the Taranis. In some cases the Zadig driver will correctly install, but C9x with fail to flash saying it couldn't find the Taranis. In my case, I found, by looking at the Device Manager in Windows, that the USB 3 port on my compute...

Time for a few Splash Screens. I left a place to add your name on the Extra Version. The .BMP files are in the .zip Thanks for all your great work on images and your videos. I used your Extra Version, added my name with Irfanview. Loaded into Companion9x and it showed up just perfect. Now just need...

Re: Can't flash Taranis...
I found that my ExpressCard USB 3 card with a Renasas chipset for my laptop would not flash the firmware, but a USB 2 port built in to the laptop worked ok. I found that the driver for the card dated from 2010. I found a later driver online from 2012 by using Google, and now it will work correctly w...

Re: Difference between between FAI Choice and FAI Mode?
I also tried setting it on the Taranis, got blocked from changing it, then read the eeprom to C9x, reset it, and reuploaded the eeprom. Worked fine.
Thanks again.

Re: Difference between between FAI Choice and FAI Mode?
I've now reloaded original Taranis firmware, deleted the taranis.bin file from the SD card and let it self regenerate, reloaded 2667 with the FAI choice option selected, and nothing gives me anything about FAI on the Radio Setup screen. I had it at one time, but I cannot get it back. I've tried uplo...

Re: Difference between between FAI Choice and FAI Mode?
Maybe the compile script? Sent via mobile That may be it. I just downloaded thru C9x a no options version of r2667, made sure it worked, and then overwrote it with the FAI choice firmware along with a completely clean eeprom. FAI mode still doesn't show up on the Taranis. I will write a Issue on th...

EDIT: Just downloaded it again, and flashed it to my Taranis. FAI mode still does not show up on the Radio Setup screen. It is also unchecked in C9x, per y...

Re: Difference between between FAI Choice and FAI Mode?
I just loaded r2667 onto my Taranis with FAI Choice checked in Preferences. This was the first version that I loaded that had FAI Choice as an option when I downloaded the new firmware to C9x. I had FAI mode engaged before in the previous version of the firmware I had loaded on my Taranis. The FAI o...

Difference between between FAI Choice and FAI Mode?

Re: Taranis Display LCD contrast
You have to update, using C9x, to the very latest firmware (r2604) released just a couple of days ago to get the contrast adjustment. It's on the Radio Setup screen.

I don't know. I'm not the original poster on that forum. I think it is probably just a camera issue from left to right, but I don't know for sure.
