When I turn on the radio, it makes the usual sounds. The screen backlight comes on. If a switch is on, it make the complaining sound - IOW it seems to be working, but the screen remains blank! I have looked at the main board, looks like the display should be driven via the ribbon cable at the bottom...

The manual is an open office document, available here: http://code.google.com/p/er9x/source/br ... Manual.odt.

That .odt comes through (to me) as a 27k file that won't open (corrupt)
