Re: airspeed sensor data with Taranis Global variables

You can't control volume with a GVAR. You could create a ticket for this. You also can't access model-properties from a Global Function (not sure if that was your plan) Maybe you are already satisfied with 2 volume states: SF1 ON Volume MAX on SF2 L01 Volume S2 on By default you would have maximum v...

Re: New beta version of openXsensor (=openXvario)

There are special glues that withstand higher temperatures and I used one in the past to glue the engine of my motorbike. It had a hole after I fell with it. The trick with these glues is that they not only withstand higher temperatures but they also expand and contract the same as the materials for...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

I bought an Orange module 2 months ago and it is working fine after I flashed it with Mike's firmware using my Taranis. I bought it really because I had some problems getting the Banggood multi module to work. I bought a 2nd one and I have that working fine. I don't really need the Orange module any...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

Ah...
That explains.... I saw the "CK" in JTCK and wrongfully assumed it was the clock-signal. ;-)

Edit:

I just swapped the cables on the micro-JST cable and flashed it again. Now serial communication is working.

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

It seems communication isn't working. All 0000's stay 0000's I have just checked with a logic analyzer and the signals are delivered to the pins. There's also a 3.3V delivered on the pin. There is no reaction of the Orange Module during flashing (no LEDs). Contrary to your advice I supplied the 3.3V...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

Heated up the soldering iron, opened up the Orange module...... Turns out my Orange module already has these 2x 10 ohm resistors already in place.... I now again think it might not be properly flashed. Is there a way to determine this? As I wrote before, it seemed to flash fine. I just don't know if...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

The multimodule code supports both PPM and serial in, but the module may need a hardware mod (just adding a resistor) to accept serial. See details at the bottom of the first post. It probably does... But as I understood it this only applied to the blue PCB. I'm now off on my only day of flying of ...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

I chose this morning to flash my recently acquired Orange module (green board). I (think) I followed the complete procedure, but in the end it doesn't work as I inspect it to. I connected the Orange module to my Taranis using a 4-pin micro-JST on the Taranis motherboard. I also used the 3.3V pin. I ...

Re: Orange Module running MULTI protocol

@Mike... How frequent will you most likely be updating the firmware of this module? I'm asking because I have already soldered a micro-JST connector in my Taranis and I'm considering to expose it in the battery bay. But if it's unlikely there will be frequent updates I can open up my radio, upgrade ...

I have a whole collection of micro-JST connectors. Can't I just solder a 4-pin one (I think it's the 1mm one) on my Taranis plus and connect that to the Orange module and start flashing with your latest firmware? On the other side I could have 4 header pins which (as described by Mike) I could bend ...

Allegro ACS758

Sorry for being slightly OT. I'm placing it here because it gives me the best chance of getting a good reply. Re: TEK sensors

I already have an OpenXsensor with barometer, IMU and GPS and I like it. I'm currently making a new one. I use a 4-pin micro-JST (1mm) connector for the GPS so I can always use it without it. I was planning to use the 2nd option (electronic compensation), but I may just call it off. The OpenXsensor ...

I recently ordered some barometer sensors which I want to use in combination with an OpenXsensor that has a GY-86 with barometer. All this time I've been thinking on which model I should put this. What would you recommend? Modify an ordinary i2c barometer with a tube?

Re: GPS sensor

It seems that Spektrum is using i2c for their sensors.
I don't have Spektrum, so I wouldn't know.
Could these sensors be connected to the i2c-bus on the Arduino that is also used to connect the sensor boards?

What pins are they using and what is the layout?

Re: GPS sensor

I totally agree with Kalle... My first Arduino project (not that long ago) was a head tracker. The first worked, but was wonky. I build a 2nd one with more care and it was less wonky, but still not reliable. Then I made a 3rd one that did exactly what I expected. I already bought from several vendor...

Re: Building TWI(I2C)-sensors for openXsensor with ADS1115

Yes...

I've heard about the 16 MHz versions having no problems with lower voltage

But what about the signal levels?
I assume I need run the i2c levels on the same voltage as the Arduino does.

When I was young I stopped electronics because it became more and more digital... I'm now doing catch-up.

Re: Building TWI(I2C)-sensors for openXsensor with ADS1115

I would like to start implementing your idea of using the i2c-bus externally. On the openXsensor I want to put a mini JST connector so I have some standardization. Shouldn't I also add a 3.3V voltage regulator on the openXsensor to feed these i2c-sensors? I was thinking about using a 1mm 4pin JST-co...

After I receive that Orange Current sensor I will know if that connector is a JST 1mm or a JST 1.25mm Would that be a good choice for my standard analog sensor input on openXsensor? Re: OpenTX 2.1 released!

The variometer is in fact a barometer and it measures the air pressure. The higher you go the less air pressure. This barometer measures very small differences of this air pressure. Of course the air pressure varies over time as well even if it's at the same height. All in all, the method to use a b...

Re: Building TWI(I2C)-sensors for openXsensor with ADS1115

So why not start connecting the current sensor to an analog input of the Arduino, you will get a 0.1 A resolution. Everything in oXs is ready to use it this way. You are right... I will probably do it that way. I might as well just use such an Orange sensor which has this analog out. It only needs ...

I bought those ACS712 a few months ago, but never did anything with it because I didn't expect to get any decent info out of it (wanted to use the analog input)...
