Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

Thanks everyone for all your help with my module problems. I got it taken care of. My the bill of materials calls for a 4.7k ohm resistor in R2. I somehow got a .47 ohm resistor. Soldered the resistor in, and it works perfectly. Im very excited about this new module.

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

Well, soldered my dsm2 module (the original one from the dx5e) back into the dx5, and it works perfectly. I've also tried using a short wire in place of r2 again after the firmware revision, and tried my diy module in both, my taranis, and my turnigy 9xr. That DIY module just will not bind. The dsm2...

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

I was hoping that too Philipp. Is it possible that the problem is with my taranis? I have a 99xr laying around. Is it worth loading the open tx on there and giving a go?

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

I tried the latest fw last night, the one that was released yesterday, still had problems. Looks like others are reporting the same on the other thread linked previously.

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

Is it just me, or do they make it difficult to find previous firmware releases? I cant figure out where to download any older firmware.

Re: Taranis and DSM2 mods

I didnt want to ask such a silly question here, but is there a way to retro-grade my firmware back to one that worked? I dont have any of the files existing, would need to download.

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

Okay, that is my adjenda for tonight. First I'll try an older firmware, and a different receiver. If that fails I'll pull all my components off, clean the board and start over verifying everything as I go.

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

Okay, so I took out my old dsm2 spektrum module, and dropped it into the diy module. It seems to function exactly the same way. No change, still wont bind. Im not sure what the problem here is. Is it possible that I have a firmware issue? Im running version 2.0.8 on my taranis. I'll put up photos in...

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

That's an excellent idea Philipp. I'm just grateful that I got the socket for my pcb, rather than soldering the module in. I'm going to have to get another socket on order.

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

Thanks for all your responses everyone. I will get pics up tonight. The module was bought from someone on rcgroups, he had already removed it from a dx5e dsmx, so I was told. I have a pm out to him as well to ask if the unit was tested. I also have a dx5e myself dsm2 only, I plan to pull that module...

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

Hello all, so I ended up ordering and building the jprikkel board, I must be missing some setting or something. Built it just like the blog, using a short wire in place of r2. I selected dsm2-dsmx on my taranis and tried to bind, got nothing. I'm getting 3.3 from gnd to pos on the spektrum module, a...

Re: My Taranis Spektrum module

@jprikkel At today's pricing all the components for 1 unit, including all shipping costs would be $26.80, leaving you with 2 spare PCB's obviously not including a case, or module. Even if someone bought components for 3, and made use of all the boards due to the minimum order at OSH, that would only...

I too love to use the add functionality when training with taranis as master, and dx5 as alave, set to low rates on the slave, and bingo.. I can override any wrong movement by at least 30%

Re: FrSky Taranis buzzing from speaker

Thanks for the update. My biggest concern was that it may be a problem that will affect its abillity to work, its not really that loud of a sound that its bothersome.

FrSky Taranis buzzing from speaker

Hello all, Im brand new to the open tx world and just got a Taranis. I've done a bit of research on the buzzing noise which apparently is common in the taranis. Is this an issue that Aloft would take care of? Or will I need to open her up and add some shielding to wiring, and speaker to protect from...
