Mike, he fixed the radio. apparently he tried to flash a receiver using the Taranis and he messed up the software of the RF module somehow. He flashed the module and it seems to be working again. Thanks for your help.

Re: Taranis X9D+ from 2014 RF Module Replacement
Thanks Mike.. It has been a long time. It is unbelievable how we forget things when we don't deal with them every day. At least I do. :) I will have to update my radios and will obviously have to ask some questions. I guess the eeprom structure might have changed? I think I have read something about...

Taranis X9D+ from 2014 RF Module Replacement
Hi guys, a friend of mine has an older Taranis X9D+ from 2014 and he told me that the radio's RF board isn't working. He said that he was able to flash it using the radio, so I am not sure it is really bad or perhaps the RF output just stopped working. In any case, does anyone know where he could bu...

Re: Is anyone still DIYing Radios?
Uops, I have just seen this post. And I have just seen your post :) Cool to find someone here also building guitar pedals. Amazing. Yeah, at the moment I am into digitally controlling analog effects. I am currently working on a PT2399 based delay, with presets and all that. At the same time I still...

Re: Reading LiPo sensor FLVSS with Arduino Uno
I didn't know you had done something like this Mike, very nice. Been using the oXs till now. Will have to have a look at this project of yours, I might learn something 8-) if all we needed was to read 3 cells only, would this work on an ATtiny85? I think the problem is that the ATtiny does not have ...

Re: Is anyone still DIYing Radios?
Thanks Mike.. You have been doing an excellent work with ErskyTX and the receivers. I have been building the D16 receivers from Midelic's project, so I don't really buy original receivers anymore. It is fun to build them. I am also not buying more radios as I have enough. I am open for new modificat...

Is anyone still DIYing Radios?
Hey guys, Many of you might remember that I was quite active here a while ago, and then kinda disappeared :D Well there are a couple reasons for that. As you know I was always very interested on DIYing my own radios, and actually built a few based on the old 9X radio. I still use them :) But with th...

Avast antivirus detects OpenRCforums as a threat and blocks it.
Hey guys, anyone using Avast Antivirus having problems reading these forums? On both my PCs with windows 7 it blocks me from reading the forums. Re: Several problems with 9XR Pro
Looking at the screen while flying is not a good idea, obviously
But set some alarms and listen to your telemetry instead. Like this you can keep your eyes on the model you're flying
With ErskyTx you can also listen to your favorite music album while you fly
I do it all the time

Mike, I can see on the pictures that you have upgraded the Logical switches menus. Great. I am still running some older version on my radios.. Need to come back to this RC thing again. Re: Taranis X9D Powered off mid flight
We could add a confirmation screen so that when you switch off, you have to confirm you want to power off (e.g. MENU/ENTER button) so the radio continues to function if the power switch does fail in flight. Mike This could probably add some extra safety, even to radios with a normal 9x type switch,...

Re: Taranis X9D Powered off mid flight
Well if the switch fails so as to do the exact same as if you moved it to the off position, how would the radio know you didn't? No, I mean the switch fails like having a bad connection when it is ON. For a switch to fail the way you described it must be disintegrating completely :D As I said, on m...

Re: Taranis X9D Powered off mid flight
Soft power helps IF the conditions are met i.e. they have a setup that provides telemetry and the option to keep on hasn't been disabled... What you mean, "the option to keep on"? :o Such an option should not exist, or am I missing something here? ;) The radio shouldn't turn off unless WE...

Re: Taranis X9D Powered off mid flight
Mike, with soft power this should never happen even if the switch goes bad? :o Remember I have designed a new Switch board for my 9x radios? This was the reason. My power switches can go bad any time they like, but unless they short to ground the radio will continue powered until the switch is moved...

I wonder if that transformer committed suicide and took the Mosfets with it?? Just guessing.
hard to see on the pictures but the soldering on the mosfets pins doesn't look very good.

This is an interesting idea, specially for simple sensors
Mike,Would a resonator be accurate enough?
What about an ATtiny85? I know serial could be done via software serial, but would it work with the oXs code without modifying it??

Hi João, Yes erskyTx is still being developed, although I seem to be spending more time porting it to new radios than adding new features. As many new radios have the large, colour screen, I'm adding things for those at present. Mike Shall we implement a color display on Ar9x? ;) Joking. Before add...
