Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

Use your multimeter to check for a short from pin 43 to ground. turn the radio power off first, you don't want to damage the regulators or the processor by sorting something ;)

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

As I understand it, subtrims are not subject to Flight Mode. So you could transfer any FM0 trims to subtrim. But then the other FM trims would need to be reset. Yes that is what Mike said.. it will copy the "Active" flight mode trims to the subtrims. Also, as I understand from Mike's explanation, t...

It should copy the trims of the currently active flight mode.

Mike
Ok, thanks, so we must be sure we have the right flight mode selected while copying the trims to the subtrims. This is something that should be mentioned on the next ErskyTX manual.. ;) Nigel??

Check your soldering. You might have shorted pin43 to ground somehow..

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

After the flight, you may choose to copy the trims to subtrims, or you may adjust the linkages (if possible). If you adjust the linkages or copy the trims to subtrims, you may need to repeat using instant trim on a second flight in both modes to get everything sorted. it sounds good Mike, thank you...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

But then the trims can be copied to the subtrims, right? This would allow to perhaps fix the problem and try again without touching the subtrims. but after a second try, it could be saved if necessary..

Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

Ahhhhh, yes.. I see.. All my 9x radios except one use other hardware :)
Then I think it is only possible to convert the AIL and ELE switch to 3 position. Perhaps Mike could add the RUD switch as well if possible?

Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

The RUD switch is on Pin 43, but I can't set it in the hardware menu? Set it to PG2. that is pin 43. Check the picture i have attached above. You need to solder directly to the pin. The AIL switch is there, and so are PB1 and PB2, but no RUD switch. Noooooooo ... There is also PG2 Input and PG7 Inp...

Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

PG2 is not used on the 9XR. This is pin 43 so you would need to connect directly to that processor pin. PC0 is available, pin 32 of the processor. This is connected to pin 9 of U6 so that is an easier place for a connection. LCD-WR is on PC4 (pin 39). To use this you would need to remove the resist...

Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

The settings would be L-WR and PC0 in the hardware menu. You might have to check the setting to make L-WR an input. And no, i don't have a camera installed in your room  I asked about the processor because the earlier 9XR was sold with the Atmega64 processor. later it was sold with the Atme...

Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

Yeah, your radio has the backlight control already built in, right?. In that case PB7 wouldn't be available. You don't have haptic installed, right? How many switches you need to convert? You could try pin 33 L-RW, I think, pin 43 PG2. I am not sure pin 35 is available on your radio's processor, pro...

Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

I don't think openTX ever supported extra hardware like switches on any radio. You might have a better chance with Er9x which still supports that radio. Although I have never seen an older 9XR with extra switches, it might very well be possible, but only a couple, and only with Er9x. I have a couple...

Re: Find out why you have a AVRDUDE verification error while flashing them with Arduino on some 9X boards

Funny, we have seen dozens of bricked 9x radios exactly because people used the -F option.. :o

So, our advice is, do not use it, as it can brick your radio.. :)

So, perhaps the warning at power ON if the instarim is active should help decrease the chances of someone messing up his/her model.

This feature is not meant to be always ON.. :) That would mean trouble.. actually, I think ErskyTX should have a warning at power ON, if the instatrim was left ON. Mike?

Without testing we won't know. ;) First we need to try to make it fail at 100% :) Oh, just had an idea, Mike, what about an undo feature? I don't know, but perhaps a longer press of the instatrim switch? Note, instatrim SHOULD NOT be active all the time. Normally only during model's first flights.. ...

It's my fault. I thought you guys were talking about Subtrim, not only about the Instant trim. I misunderstood it. But in a way, I'm glad I did.. Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Mike, as you know, different servos of different brands have different center points. And many RTF models are impossible to adjust the linkage. No, you flash it with Eepskye. Eppe is for Er9x, Eepskye is for ErskyTX (Ersky9x). Make sure you save the radio eeprom to your computer, so you don't lose your models and settings before you flash the firmware. Models are not compatible.. Better saying, eeprom from openTX and ErskyTX are not compati...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Ahh, we can copy to the sub-trim, they are not applied automatically. And when we copy to the sub-trim, then trim is reset to zero, right?
What about if the instant trim does something extreme? can we reset it?

Thanks

And also means that jumper radio owners could compile the firmware with the missing protocol, and flash it to their radios..

So, in other words, the guys from the Jumper radio could just compile ErskyTX with FrskyX enabled and use it for their radio?? And that is OK?

Sorry, just trying to understand.
