Re: X8R Fail Safe activation and deactivation

If you have FrSky firmware on the X8R, then there is no way of finding out what version you have. FrSky firmware is here: https://www.frsky-rc.com/x8r/ . You might consider flashing UNI firmware (found here: https://forum.alofthobbies.com/index.php?threads/uni-receiver-firmware-release-files-univers...

Re: ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions

It looks like my change to the BASIC script handling to allow larger arrays is working OK. This should allow the ElrsV2.BAS to work with elrs 3.5 firmware.

Re: ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions

Yes, that is correct. ErskyTx for the AR9X board checks the processor ID and then make use of the extra RAM. Small LUA scripts may be run already. The problem with ELRS 3.5 is likely the number of possible packet rates has increased and the text for all the options doesn't fit in the available array...

Re: ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions

. . .Will this tests version and ELRSV3.lua also will work on AR9X? Thank you The AR9X doesn't have enough spare RAM to be able to run anything but small LUA scripts (unless like me you have changed the processor to a '486 that has 128k RAM instead of 64k RAM !). If you could detail what is not wor...

It may be I still have some missing functions in the implementation of LUA.
If you can post what the script errors are I can look into them.

Re: ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions

I've posted a test version of erskyTx for the 9Xtreme that runs the elrsV3.lua script. The only ELRS module I have is a "lite" version so I tested the script operation on a FrSky X9Lite. The only problem is some of the text doesn't fit the screen well, the script has been written expecting...

Re: ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions

I'm working on getting erskyTx to handle this script. I think I've added 3 missing functions, but now a 4th one has shown up, so I need to sort this one! Mike Edit: I've sorted the last, missing function, and the script is now running, however, the display is flickering so the script is not (yet) us...

Re: ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions

The elrsv3.lua file is too large for the 9Xtreme. It is also now using some "built in" functions that are not available in erskyTx at present. I'll see if I can make some more memory available, and also look into adding the missing functions. I've also attached a .zip file that contains th...

Re: ERSKYTx (was ersky9x) Questions

The post above should refer to a ".BAS" file not a ".BAT" file. The 9Xtreme does include support for LUA scripts as well as BAS scripts. You have to select which to use in the MODEL SETUP|GENERAL menu (near the bottom of the menu). I think the module is updated using WiFi, and th...

Re: Special fixes

Seems I was only missing one thing, so I have managed to do a build, posted on the first post.
I have no way of testing it (I've only got a XLite not a 'S' or PRO), so make sure everything is fully backed up before using it.

Re: Special fixes

I've just changed my computer system to a new one. As this only has 256Mb solid state drive C, compared to the 1Tb hard drive I used to use, I have added a 500Mb hard drive as drive D, where I have the openTx files. I also haven't got all the tools I use fully installed and configured. I tried to do...

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

I've just posted an update to eepe (just the .exe, built with QT5). Copy this to your existing eepe directory (rename the existing eepe.exe first in case there are any problems and you need to revert). This removes the default switches in the general edit and handles added, 3-pos switches in the mod...

Re: FRSKY X9D 2019 receiver recommendation

The X9D 2019 uses ACCESS protocol by default. You may change this to D16 to bind the older receivers (like the X6R), bu the 2019 version uses V2 protocol. You need to make sure the X6R is running V2 firmware as well (or better use UNI firmware that binds to any D16 protocol). You also need to check ...

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

By displaying the splash screen half size (the image was half size but I scaled it up for display) I've saved enough flash to fix the 3-pos switch problem. Some of the '64 versions have a limited hardware menu (e.g. serial voice) that doesn't support setting the additional 3-pos switches. I've poste...

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

I have re-produced your problem.
I can see the difference in the source code that explains why the '2561 version is OK. However, if I change the code so the '64 version would work, the firmware no longer fits in the flash!

I'll see if I can sort this, but the '64 flash is just full.

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

Just checking where you are looking.
In a mix, you may set the source to a switch, in this case it should appear as sAIL.
You may also configure a switch when the arrows and bar should appear. I just checked on my '2561 radio (running 822x) and it works correctly.

Re: Smartieparts drivers

The smartieparts programmer is just a USBASP programmer, so you just need to do a search for "USBASP drivers".

The 9Xtreme and the 9XR-PRO both use erskyTx (not er9x) and use built in drivers.

Re: Taranis Qx7 external RF telemetry problem

Telemetry from the 4-in-1 should work. I just checked in my QX7 (unmodified) and I see the 4-in-1 revision information so data is being received from the module. Binding to a FrSky Rx I also see RSSI and RxV so all is OK.

Re: Taranis Qx7 external RF telemetry problem

In the QX7, the telemetry from the 4-in-1 does use the SPort signal. If the internal module is enabled, then this also uses the SPort signal, so the telemetry from the external module doesn't work.

Re: KingRadio TX18S

I've changed the source files to fix these. However, the reason for the problem is the addition of VARS. These are an alternative to GVARS, but are MUCH more useful and very powerful. You may even use a VAR to set the value of a curve point. To change to using VARS, there is an option in the Model S...

I does seem very likely that the processor is no longer working, odd that the flash reads/writes but the EEPROM does not.

Do you think you would be able to solder in a new processor?

For the Hardware menu, "Help" is accessed on the popup on the main screen. It does say power on holding the left horizontal trim to the left to enable the Hardware menu. Changing 2-pos switches to 3-pos switches, probably the easiest way is to wire the extra switch connection to the LCD co...
