Re: Sky9x Rotary Encoder Option

Nearly everything will work, however I think there are some places where MENU is needed instead of the encoder switch. A long press of the encoder switch acts as the EXIT button. Navigating the main screens currently requires at least on of up/down and one of left/right buttons. This could be change...

Re: FlySky Paladin Radio

Well, to consider doing this I would need a radio and receiver (not cheap), some technical information (or the schematic would need to be reverse engineered), and some time!

Before that, I need to know what processor it is using.

Re: Old hub (FSH-01) to X8r receiver

The FrSky vario sensor is designed to act as a "bridge" for this purpose. You connect the SPort of the vario to the X8R, and connect the hub output to the vario. Because that exists, I haven't done anything else for this purpose. I have done code for an Arduino that does the opposite, takes SPort se...

Someone else reported that as a problem on a Taranis. It turned he had trainer enabled with the Tx set to "Slave". As a slave, by default, the modules are turned off as they shouldn't be needed.

Re: X9-Lite not powering on

Those batteries don't have the "pip" on the positive connection that makes sure they make contact when placed end to end. To ensure contact you need something a couple of mm thick between the batteries, I've used a nut (from a nut and bolt) that is 3mm thick and 8mm across the flats. It is also "pla...

Re: Looking for a 12ch receiver.

For the FrSky X8R, you put links on some of the servo outputs to set telemetry/no telemetry and ch1-8/ch9-16.
With a FrSky XJT module, you may set these options from the Tx when binding.

Re: Problem with Taranis x9d plus and multi module

Pretty much so. If the Tx is set to trainer slave (=student) then the control output is to the trainer port, the the RF module(s) are not powered as the "master" Tx (= teacher) will be sending the RF signal, the the slave Tx doesn't need to send any RF.

Please back up your EEPROM to a file, put the file in a .zip and post it for me to look at.

Re: Problem with Taranis x9d plus and multi module

There is a MOSFET that switches the power. This MOSFET is controlled by the firmware. When the external module is enabled, the MOSFET is turned on.
Am I correct that you have tried powering up with different protocols enabled (PPM/XJT/MULTI etc.).

I'll try to find time tomorrow to flash the same firmware you are using and test it.
I assume you mean by changing the "proto" you mean changing from multi to XJT or PPM etc.

Seems to be working OK on my test X9D+, although I do have firmware that has a few changes since the last test version but I don't think they make any difference in this area.

Does the module have LEDs on it to indicate it is receiving power and/or signal?

Re: Compatibility of Jumper JP4IN1 with er9x/TGY9x?

The 4-in-1 may already be correct (with INVERT_TELEMETRY set). It is perfectly OK to plug it in an see if it works. r820 does support the 4-in-1, although I see from the change log I have added some things in r821 to make the multiprotocol support better. Try the 4-in-1 with what you have and report...

Re: Compatibility of Jumper JP4IN1 with er9x/TGY9x?

Yes it should work directly. The firmware in the 4-in-1 will need to be built with "INVERT_TELEMETRY" enabled, but you should get servo control anyway.
What revision of firmware do you have on the 9X?

Re: X8r binds but no response on motor and servo's

Try binding using different RxNums. The S6R/S8R receivers have a problem with some Tx modules where only some RxNums work, they bind but don't operate, just possibly this is happening with your X8R.

Re: (solved) Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

I just moved some more common code created by these switch handling changes to a subroutine, so the total flash saving is now 588 bytes on the M64. I don't use any of my 9X transmitters for flying these days, so I don't have much incentive to add things. Even creating this extra available flash (on ...
