Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors

Yes to SPort on pin 6. The A2 voltage should be on pin 7 (PB2). The A1 voltage should be on pin 2 (PB3). This starts out with an internal pullup resistor, and so only sends an A2 value if the voltage is on the pin is less than 97.5% of VCC. If such a voltage is detected, the pullup resistor is disab...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors

I've sorted the source code for the original design so that a TINY85 may be used instead of a TINY13A. At present this is just a replacement, but I will add the code that allows changing the physical ID "soon". Since the '85 has much more flash memory I may be able to add more features as well. To c...

The processor should have an internal pullup resistor on pin 43 (PG2). Have you set PG2 as an input in the hardware menu?

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Yes the trims may be copied to the subtrims. One advantage of using the trims option is only the trims of the current flight mode are affected. So, for example, suppose you have two flight modes, normal and landing, and that they share the same trims except for elevator trim and that in "landing" mo...

I found a bug when editing text with CAPS selected and you try to add a SPACE. Now fixed!
I've just posted an update with this fix. You also have the "Instant Trim" option to choose to only modify the trims instead of the subtrims.

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

My guess is the GPS speed is in knots, but is converted for the OSD display.
It seems the conversion factor from km/h to knots is 0.539957, 1.852 the other way (knots to km/h).
Looks like a SCALER with a multiplier of 463 and a divider of 250 would work to convert from knots to km/h.

Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

That will take a bit of time to write and test. I hadn't realised it wasn't supported, but then I haven't been using a 9X for a while. My main radio for flying is a Taranis X9D+, with a QX7 for some indoor models.

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

OK, I can fix the GPS altitude display.
The FrSky GPS sends the GPS speed in knots and this is what I display and log. If you have a GPS speed in a different unit, or need to scale the value I suggest using a "SCALER" and displaying and logging that.

PC0 is on pin 35 (I've corrected my post above).
PC0 is connected to pin 9 of U6 so that is an easier place for a connection. You may check with a meter.

er9x fully supports the multiprotocol module for control and quite a lot of telemetry. I'm not sure in what format the telemetry from the Bugs 3 gets passed to er9x, but it may work. Depending on whether you have an inverter as part of the telemetry mod, you may need to build the firmware for the mo...

Re: Adding 3-pos switches to 9XR on openTX 2.1

PG2 is not used on the 9XR. This is pin 43 so you would need to connect directly to that processor pin. PC0 is available, pin 32 35 of the processor. This is connected to pin 9 of U6 so that is an easier place for a connection. LCD-WR is on PC4 (pin 39). To use this you would need to remove the resi...

On the other hand, I still can’t imagine a realistic scenario in which more than 25% correction (subtrim) would be needed via IT. Except where João says he needs more than 25% subtrim to start with. The operation of "instant trim" is to use the current channel output position and put that into the ...

Re: Using FrSky S6R with ersky9x

FrSky have posted new firmware for the S6R and S8R receivers. This fixes the problem with only some RxNums working. It also fixes a problem where SPort data from the Tx didn't "pass through" the SxR. I've just flashed a S8R (with the FCC version) and tested with RxNums from 0 to 10, all worked. This...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

I suggest you try adding a resistor in the positive supply lead to the switch. Any value up to 5K should be OK, although I'd go for 1K to 2K if possible. You will very likely need to re-calibrate the switch. I have an idea for a firmware change that should, at least, restore the screen to your setti...

I've just completed a script you may run on erskyTx based radios that support sending data over SPort to allow changing the physical ID of FrSky, SPort sensors. This works "over the air". Plug your sensor into the receiver, then run the script. Choose your sensor type, select "ReadId" if the ID is b...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

Note the suggestion is to limit the amount of subtrim you may add when using instant trim, not to limit the overall amount of subtrim you may set in the menu. Also, the +/-25% is a suggestion, it could be +/-50% or more.

Re: ERSKY9X Coding

The current implementation of "Instant Trim", when setting the subtrims, allows the subtrim values to be set to any value between -100.0% to +100.0%. I have received a suggestion that this is not such a good idea and the value should be limited to, perhaps, +/-25.0% (the same as if you use the new o...

Re: 9XR PRO protocol with XJT and R-XSR (S-BUS)

If the lights on the Tx module and the receiver are correct (normal operation Rx LED showing green), then it shouldn't matter whether you are using PPM in the Tx or PXX as far as getting control signals out from the receiver. To be clear, the radio uses either PPM or PXX to communicate to the module...

How are you binding tha XJT and the R-XSR?
Set the protocol to XJT, then select the BIND option and choose channels and telemetry, then select "BIND".
Power on the X8R with the FS button pressed. the red LED on the Rx should flash when the bind completes.

Yes, copying trims to subtrims then sets the trims back to zero.
I have this working, I have added an option to choose between the current operation and just having "instant trim" setting the trims.

I did try LUA in erskyTx and it did run on the 'PRO, but as it used the RAM up very quickly, even for small scripts, I chose to create a specific script language for erskyTx that uses RAM much more efficiently. AFAIK, LUA has not been included in openTx for the 'PRO. If you build openTx yourself, it...

I'm considering the "instant trim" function. Currently it takes the stick, trim and sub-trim positions and places the result in the sub-trim, setting the trim values to 0. This works OK, but this was implemented before "flight modes" were introduced, each of which may have their own trim settings. Y...

It is OK, but they would need to comply with the GNU licence and fully publish any changes they do.
Then, if they are using it for commercial purposes, they need to check they are not infringing on any patents etc.
