Re: Script Language

I can't see anything wrong with the encoder in the popup on the X7, I just tried the code you have on my X7 and it worked fine. I assume the encoder is working fine for "normal" navigation? Please explain exactly what you mean by a "config file" for a script. Tmp1 has the name "T1=" and Tmp2 has the...

That looks OK.
I've just posted a new test version of ersky9x that sets the TxD signal low if the BT Function is set to off.

I just updated the resistor and capacitor values on the circuit I posted above. The two transistors are as shown on that circuit, BC817 for Q3 and SI2301 for the MOSFET.

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

This is my stripboard (without the capacitor), but it is all surface mount. BTpower.JPG I've just tested this on an AR9X board and a HC-06. It all worked fine, setting the BT Function to off, turned the power to the module off, setting the BT Function to something else and it powered on and function...

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

You are switching the ground rather than the power. With the positive supply still connected, I think it likely that driving the TxD signal low will cause the protection diodes on the TxD input to conduct and try to power the BT module. I think we need to switch the power not the ground. Even though...

Re: er9x development

I haven't got the information on the values required in the PXX frame for 200mW. The specification I have only shows 2 values, 25mW and 500mW. Looking at the openTx code it seems there are now four values: 0 - 25mW with 8 channels and telemetry 1 - 25mW with 16 channels and telemetry 2 - 200mW no te...

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

In addition, the TxD signal, in operation, is driven both high and low so the resistor in the signal path doubles up as pulling the base low.

In the second circuit, I had it already built so the resistor to ground was already present.

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

I can re-produce the problem, it may take a while to pin this down. It is likely it may be caused by the way trims stop moving at 0, something in the de-bouncing may be left set causing the switch to appear on when it is off.

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

This is a version using a MOSFET to switch the power: BTpower1.png I had this built (without the capacitor) on a piece of stripboard using surface mount devices so I tried it. The capacitor could be a lower value than 1uF, I think 0.2uF would be OK. As shown, the circuit holds the power on for over ...

For getValue("Modelname"), you may use: sysstrtoarray( name1, 0 ) where name1 is a byte array that needs to be at least of size 12, e.g.: array byte name1[12] sysstrtoarray( name1, 0 ) will result in the byte array "name1" containing the model name in the first 10 bytes terninated by a null (zero) b...

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

This is basically the circuit I've been testing: BTpower.png As long as TxD is high, Q1 is on so Q2 is on and the BT module receives power. When TxD goes low, Q1 switches off, but Q2 is held on while capacitor C1 discharges. As long as TxD goes high again before C1 discharges (too much), C1 gets cha...

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

I just tested a circuit that uses 4 resistors, 2 (bipolar) transistors and a capacitor. Seemed to generally work fine. It would probably be better if the power switch transistor is a P-channel MOSFET, but I don't have any I can plug into a breadboard for testing. Powered from 3.3V, the PNP switch dr...

The most recent test versions of er9x support the R9M, as long as you have a '128 or'2561 processor (which you do).

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

I think I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be! The TxD line is a logic level, serial data signal, so idles at a logic '1' (high voltage). When sending data it switches between high and low, but is always high for some of the time. Simply holding the signal low (as I do for the RF modu...

Re: Jumper T12 Open Source 16ch Radio with JP4-in-1 Multi-protocol RF Module

I thought intially the T12 didn't have a haptic vibrator, as I didn't get any vibration. I've just taken my T12 apart and found there is a haptic motor, but one of the connections to it wasn't soldered. I've now soldered that and haptic is working. I did create a version of ersky9x without any refer...

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

Thinking about this, it would be good if we didn't need to use another I/O pin at all. To support the HC-05 (and some other modules) we have TxD, RxD and a control signal. I could either send a "line break", on the TxD signal, of two different lengths that is detected by a circuit to turn the power ...

Would it be possible to add something like this to the other Ersky9x radios?
In theory, but they all have different possible "spare" signals, if they have any at all, so would take time to allow selection and configuration.

Re: er9x development

All looks OK. I compile using version 4.8.0 of the compiler because it produces smaller code than 4.9.2, and this matters for the M64 radios, with 4.9.2 the code doesn't fit. The compiler warnings are only generated by 4.9.2, but I will change the source code so they don't happen. The file "prov.txt...

No the X7 doesn't have that serial port. It does have the SPort on the bottom though, so you can get at the SPort telemetry data from there. What do you want to achieve?

It should decide to use AFHDS2A telemetry automatically when the Multi module is set to AFHDS2A protocol. Please confirm you have the module "dial" set to 0 and the protocol is set to AFHDS2A in the protocol menu. Also, in the protocol menu, go down to the BIND option and you should then see the mod...

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

It should be possible. I'd need to add a hardware option to set one of the switch signals as a BT module enable, another option somewhere to turn the module on and off, and the low level code to actually do the operation. I've made a note about this, but it may take a while to sort out (and I may ne...

The T12 power button "bounces" a lot. Try starting in bootloader mode, but just press the power button and release it immediately, don't hold it down, but keep the trims held in.

Then plug in the USB.

Re: Control TX via Smartphone over BT / USB

It is inverted serial (as is output by FrSky receivers). As this is software driven, it would be possible to consider using a different baudrate and/or a non-inverted signal, but I would need to provide configuration facilities.

The timeout for loss of signal is currently 1 second.

You would need to connect the trainer jack socket (ground and signal) to the ground and signal of the second module, and provide power to the second module somehow.

See the other thread. The USB connector only provides flashing options (in bootloader mode) or allows the Tx to simulate a joystick to a computer.
