Re: Turnigy 9x Help

No reason not to use the latest "test version" (currently "er9xProv822r.zip"), which you will find here: https://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4598#p64969 . While called "test versions", files I post are fully working unless the description underneath the file indicates something needs ...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

Good all is working, I had not seen your edit 2!

I recently added support for MULTI_TELEMETRY, so that is the one to use now as it provides the protocol names from the module. It is possible that MULTI_STATUS will be removed from the module.

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

These two arrays need to be longer (originally 28 bytes): uint8_t SerialExternalData[38] ; uint8_t Multi2Data[38] ; The array: uint16_t Pulses2[266] may also need to be longer, I'm not sure by how much though, but making it 350 should be long enough. Do you see the correct protocol names now though,...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

You are probably using what is the "internal" module connection, in which case: In "sky/pulses_driver.cpp", starting at line 1195, add in the variable "length" and use it to obtain and then set "byteCount": if ( g_model.Module[0].protocol == PROTO_MULTI ) { uint32_t length ; length = setMultiSerialA...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

Please confirm this is with the module firmware I posted (V1.3.1.32), and that you do see "1.3.1.32" on the protocol menu (to confirm the module did flash correctly). Have you tried creating a new (blank) model then configuring the protocol? Please backup your EEPROM, then post it here (in a .zip fi...

Re: Missing Vspd

In "oXs_out_frsky.h" you will find: #define VARIO_FIRST_ID 0x0110 #define VARIO_LAST_ID 0x011f change these to: #define VARIO_FIRST_ID 0x0030 #define VARIO_LAST_ID 0x0030 I made a mistake above, I put 0x0048 when it should be 0x0030 (which is 48 in decimal). Mike

Re: Missing Vspd

The log file clearly shows only altitude, in whole numbers, being sent by the X8R, no other telemetry values at all. You could try getting the oxs to send the VSPD value using appID 0x0048 0x0030, and see if that gets through. It does seem the X8R is very selective as to what SPort telemetry is forw...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

I'm going to guess either the ARUNI or the module has a crystal that is a bit off frequency, causing a mismatch in the baudrates between them. On your video I do see a missing character in the sub-protocol name, "td" instead of "Std". You could try changing the baudrate on the ARUNI board and see if...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

I've attached the most recent compile I did for the MPM (STM version). This works fine for me. It does use "INVERT_TELEMETRY". What I do with the "Multi.txt" file is compare the entries with the ones I have built in. I then store and use any that differ, or are extra. This allows the names to be upd...

Re: TURNIGY 9XR and multiprotocol module IRX4+ need HELP

With a direct connection from pin 5 to the processor, you need a "NoInv" version of the module firmware. Use er9x-128.hex. Tell the firmware you have done the telemetry mod. Power on the radio with the left horizontal trim held to the left to enable the hardware menu. Then navigate to the hardware m...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

Hi Mike, Thanks for looking into this. I don't know if the issue is with my Tx or my compilation, but my problem persists. I've recorded the behavior when changing the sub-protocol. In this case the main protocol is 65 (FrSkyR9) but it reverts to Flysky. It knows the protocol number, since it brief...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

I'm not sure why changing "Fix Offset" should change the operation. I've tried to reproduce the problem. I have a servo on the throttle channel and I can see a very short glitch when powering the Tx on with the Rx already on, it lasts for a single frame time, around 23mS. I tried changing the "Fix O...

Re: Control differential ailerons with a pot

Mixes do have an option to use "Diff" (for differential) instead of a curve or expo. If you select "Diff", you then normally set a value, but you may also use a Gvar (Global variable). If you use a Gvar, you may set the Gvar source to be a pot. I'll hopefully post an example of doing this later toda...

Re: 9xR pro intermittent signal loss

The Turnigy DSSS module is really just a version of the Flysky AFHDS module, with the connection for the internal antenna. I just tested my prototype DSSS module and did a bind to a 9X8C V2, then I use a multi-protocol module in Flysky Std mode and that also binds and controls servos. If you only ha...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

I've just committed some changes. It is all working on my AR9X board with multi V1.3.1.32. I get all the names correctly up to protocol 72.
I've updated the built in multi names so they match the multi.txt file, so no bytes were needed in the buffer.

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

Interesting, I've not seen this, although I normally switch the Rx off first, then the Tx, then switch the Tx on first then the Rx.
Do you have a safety switch set on the throttle channel? I always use a sticky safety switch on the throttle channel.
What Tx module and receiver are you using?

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

Blank names are caused by the buffer I used to hold the text from Multi.txt overflowing. It is currently set to a size of 600 bytes. I only store the differences in Multi.txt compared to the built in text. A quick solution for you is to increase that buffer to, say, 800. I'm just updating the built ...

Re: Reverse polarity mod on plain 9x.

My concern was whether the charging function would still work with the MOSFET in that position. Also I was checking that power will come on when the trainer jack is connected.

I think both are OK, so those connections should be OK.

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

The module only sends the protocol name once per second, which is why the displayed name changes, the built in name is displayed immediately, then this changes to the name received from the module. I see there is a bug where the protocol number is not displayed if there is no built in name. On my ra...

Re: Missing Vspd

What revision of erskyTx are you using? Originally the FrSky vario did not send Vspd over the hub protocol, so erskyTx did not handle the value. It should now handle it, but I can't remember when I added the support. A way to check what telemetry is being received is to log the raw telemetry data be...

Re: Reverse polarity mod on plain 9x.

Hang on, I'm not sure the diagram from João is correct. The gate is OK, but I would put the drain to the right of the existing cut (to the switch) and the source to the track leading the the connector (pin 3).

Re: Reverse polarity mod on plain 9x.

Yes, that's the one. A MOSFET has 3 connections: Gate, Drain and Source (G,D,S). These are labelled on diagram on the other thread. Do a search for FQP27P06 and you will find an image (and/or a datasheet) that shows which pin is which.

Re: Reverse polarity mod on plain 9x.

Yes you may add that diode, or better the MOSFET version shown on the linked thread.
With the diode, the voltage to the 9X will be lower by 0.3 to 0.4V than the battery. The lower voltage will be the voltage displayed.

Re: Turnigy 9x Help

Try changing the polarity to NEG. As I understand it, the "new" AFHDS2A module normally uses a PCM protocol from the Tx. This protocol is not currently implemented in er9x/ersky9x or in openTx. I don't have one of these modules so it would be difficult to test, even if I had full details of the PCM ...

I've posted a new test version that includes FrSky "hub" telemetry when using MULTI_TELEMETRY. I've (hopefully) improved the display of protocol names. HuWo: I'm still working on AFHDS2A telemetry. I just tested DSM telemetry and I see a correct value RxV of 5.0V. When I move a servo, it drops to 4....
