Re: ERSKY9X Coding

As a first step, I've just configured the X12 firmware to have a new main screen in the cycle. This is like the "Timer 2" screen, but the bottom half of the display just has the model image on it (still 128x64). By keeping the font the size it currently is, I've increased the number of text lines vi...

Re: HELP, Adding 3pos switches to 9XR PRO

I don't think V1.1.02 had the bootloader accessed using the trim switches. So you plug the radio in powered OFF. This should give you a STM bootloader device. I thought Companion may now be able to write firmware to the radio, but you may need to install some drivers for that to work. Possibly the q...

Re: Tandem rotor helicopter

Being FBL, am I correct you basically have 6 channels going from the Tx, pitch, roll and collective for each rotor head? From your description, it seems you don't need to use the pitch for control! I the above is correct, then try: Starting position: CH1: roll for forward rotor CH2: pitch for forwar...

Re: Available 9X Modification Summary 2019 needed.

Many of the "original" documents are here: https://github.com/MikeBland/er9x/tree/master/doc . A DJT is fairly easy to modify. A XJT may be used without modification as long as you include the inverter in the radio. For voice, search on here for "Ardu-voice", where an Arduino is used. This gives a v...

Re: 9XR(AT128) bricked, HVPP unbriked and then briked again.

You could try adding a 10K pullup resistor to the signals and see if it gets the radio working. You should be able to wire these to the switches rather than the processor pins.

Re: 9XR(AT128) bricked, HVPP unbriked and then briked again.

That value is showing all three of MENU, EXIT and the DOWN button are being detected as pressed. These connect to pins 11, 12 and 13 of the processor. I think you will need to open up the radio and check that none of these three are being detected as having a low resistance to ground. They are pulle...

Re: Improve Vario on ersky9x/er9x

I may well be able to just "grab" the openTx vario tone code. I just had a look at it and it doesn't look too difficult to add in. Give me a few days and I'll see if I can add it as an option initially.

Re: 9XR(AT128) bricked, HVPP unbriked and then briked again.

I've just posted an new test version, this should display a 4-digit value (normal size) after the 'Z'.
I assume the radio just started straight into the splash screen, without saying "Loading" a model.

Re: 9XR(AT128) bricked, HVPP unbriked and then briked again.

I was going to say "Please repeat the creation of the EEPROM contents in eepe and flash that to the radio", but you have now done that. Also, check your fuse settings. In the "Burn" menu of eepe there is an option to "Set fuses to protect EEPROM". I think your fuses may be set to erase the EEPROM ev...

Re: Long shot but does anyone have a 9xtreme board FS?

The 9X uses black (negative) on the left and red (positive) in the centre.
The Taranis uses red (positive) on the left and black (negative) on the right.

BE CAREFUL, DO NOT just plug it in.
Check the polarity connections. The Taranis and the 9X use DIFFERENT connections.

Re: FRSKY R9M compatibility?

If you want telemetry on the radio, you have to do the telemetry mod to it. To get 1W (if that is legal in your country), you will need to flash the module and receiver with the flex firmware. I understand that openTx is no longer being updated for the AVR based radios so it may well not support the...

Re: Adjusting Telemetry for Battery

I assume you are looking for the flight battery voltage.
What sensor and what receiver are you using?
Are you getting a value but it is not accurate or not getting a value?

I use ersky9x rather than openTx, but I get accurate values from the telemetry.

It was supposed to wait for the shutdown voice message to complete, but I just located an obscure bug that could, sometimes, skip that.
I have the fix and it will be in the next test version.

Re: Throttle scaling/limit

You may do this in 3 mixer lines: CH3: +100% Thr (Offset 100%) * 50% P1 (Offset 50%) Multiply + -100% HALF The first mix moves the throttle to be 0 to 200% (from -100% to +100%) The second scales this using pot P1. The third moves the position back down so it always starts from -100%. You could chan...

I will look into being able to use .png files. I think openTx is using some third party software to handle them. What I don't like with that approach is I don't know what that software is doing. I had a quick look, and I think it is allocating memory "on the fly" to operate. I prefer to know what me...

At the moment no. There is a serial port in the module bay, but this has inverted signals, and the HC-06/HC-05 need non-inverted signals. The HC-05 also needs an enable signal. This could be provided by a mod to bring out one of the JTAG signals that may be used as an I/O signal. However, I am looki...
