Re: I have searched and read and tried for 2 days to get the 9xr pro to work

What has been removed from OpenTX is the AVR-based radios, the sky9x family the 9XR-Pro is a part of is still there.

A short press of MENU brings you to the model setup menu, a long one to the radio setup menu.

Re: Taranis QX7 bluetooth

As was explained to you this dates back ftom 2013 and is for the old D*T modules and the D8 system. Does not work with the new X stuff and there is no equivalent for the new gear at this point.

Re: Initial setup of companion 2.2.0

Look at the version of the firmware in the radio setup menu, not the bootloader.
You need to match the first 2 digits, not the 3rd.

No, search for 4-in-1 multiprotocol.

That's a single chip, low power module that works completely differently.

Re: ER9x and multiprotocol problems

Mike, what is the SBUS protocol at the end of the protocol menu? It has also a RX number selection. That just puts out an SBUS signal on the module slot. What he's after is something to configure the output of the receiver (on AFHDS2A systems you select that on the radio). Need to check with a logi...

I'd just recommend using 2 separate oXs, one in the wing just for airspeed and one in the fuselage for the rest.

Re: ER9x and multiprotocol problems

My understanding:

- He has a new 9X
- That new 9X has an extra option in its original firmware for the new module
- He flashed an open firmware and asks where that option is, but there is no such option becasue nobody here even knew the new module had a new option nor how it works.

Re: ER9x and multiprotocol problems

I think he posted in an inappropriate thread and doesn't have a multiprotocol module, but the FlySky AFHDS2A module that comes with new 9X batches.
Seems they might have modified the original 9X firmware for it and there's something that noone knows about yet that allows to select mode.

SD card is not used for anything model related on Taranis radios.
Write from companion writes to the radio's eeprom, not SD.

Correct! Just not sure what you're trying to do with step 9. If it's to make a backup copy simply save the open document that you just wrote to the radio.

Telemetry as desired, the other doesn't matter as that's for the servo pins and does NOT affect SBUS.

Re: Serial protocol for TX-Modul (instead of ppm)

It's SBUS with 2 extra bytes for config and protocol selection. Don't think there's doc besides the code. No it doesn't switch, you need to select 0 on the rotary selector when there is one for serial, the other positions are different protocols with PPM in. If a module has no rotary selector then i...

Re: What sensor ID should I use?

The way the protocol is defined is the last nibble being used for multiple instances of the same value type. E.g. 0x51XY X would be type (current, voltage, ...) and Y "voltage 1, voltage 2, voltage 3"... You can also use instance since it's kind of irrelevant when setting things from lua, but be car...

Re: What sensor ID should I use?

IDs for DIY use should be between 0x5100 and 0x52FF. There isn't really any coordination in that range so it's not impossible you get a conflict with another DIY sensor but at least there is none with official sensors. Instance doesn't matter, if anything maybe use the same as what you get from the ...

Re: Getting Taranis to read external input?... Is this possible

In Inputs you can select a telemetry value as source and apply a custom scaling. Note that we know nothing at all of your purpose and what kind of stuff you want to send, if you need fast refresh (as fast as sticks) you'll probably rather want to use the trainer signal. Can't say more without a desc...
