Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Hello! I have been reading all this about the sport, and implementing it to X-series receivers. Just have to try this also. :D Been looking for a way to get this working with attiny24, as I have several of them lying around. I need some info about the fuse bits, otherwise I am good to go. ;) Can so...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Mike, FYI, looks like there may be a version of the X8R that suffers from the same thing as the X6R. I've also confirmed that the new firmware resolves this issue with these newer X8R's as well. Now I need to document the additional features, but I put out the newer firmware on the information on RC...

BTW, one already confirmed that newly flashed X8R still functions so not sure what the issue is with the opensensor guys

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
I'm trying to find out which firmware to which he is referring. The latest on the FrSky site is dated 05/11/2013. FrSky are currently closed for the Chinese "Spring Festival" and won't be back until next Monday so I don't think they have just isued new firmware. Mike. it apparently came o...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Hey mike, I hear frsky released new firmware for the X8R yesterday, I don't have the upgrade tool for it, might you and can you check the latest firmware with the X8R. While I'm not sure it makes much sense, there is one post that had problems with the opensensor and he's suggesting that maybe A2 is...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
OK, I have a version of the code that skips the rogue frame, then works out the baudrate on the next frame. I'm just wondering if I should skip more than one frame to be safer? This version of the code also reads a second analog input, and currently returns the value as T2 (temperature 2, old hub s...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
I've got myself a FAS-100 to play with and have a couple of questions about it that I can't seem to find any answer to on here. What's the maximum supported voltage this thing can handle? Is 6S OK? In the telemetry setup of my Taranis, I'm trying to set a warning for when I use more than 10000mAh. ...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Mike, In a vanilla X6R, I've had one report of the X8R2Analog not working until you plugged it in after you plugged in the Lipo and powered the X6R, if powered at the same time, the X8R2Analog won't provide the A2 value, unplug it and plug it back in and it works. Seems there is some kinda of confli...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Did we give up on the second ADC input on this board? I got a request and I knew you looked at it, but it wasn't as straight forward as it might be to keep things clean with the Taranis etc... plus mapping to which value was a noted issue? I've got the official UART boards with ADC ports so I will ...

Just checking,

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
All, I got a few of these to Rich in the UK.... There aren't many left, but I'm waiting on a batch of 500 so hopefully, there will be enough to go around. Check this link if in EU, etc. http://www.t9hobbysport.com/analogue-voltage-sensor-for-frsky-x8r-receiver Wayne is out in the US... waiting for m...

if you look back through this thread, you'll see the link to Mikes AVR code with source. it's on code.google.com and about about page 3 - 5 I think.

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Thanks Mike I'll be home on Thursday and will take a look. I'll leave it to you to decide how best to utilize. Might there be a way to default to how it worked prior until it sees an actual voltage on the new pin and then do a remap or substitute or what makes sense?

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Mike I'm back on Friday this week. I've hit 100 boards to build. If it makes sense to enable those other adc channels. I'd burn that firmware. Your thoughts?

So Mike should we just enable the extra adc pins so people can use them? How best to do the remap of the A values?

Alan, can I suggest you contact ExtremeRC in Australia (http://www.extremerc.com.au), they are a FrSky dealer. Another possibility is MultiwiiCopter (http://www.multiwiicopter.com), who also sells FrSky. Thanks all... Let me get 2 dealers handled first... i'm also working on something more akin to ...

hehe, hey, blame it on Mike would ya ...
I should have about 60 to 100 more in a couple of weeks... would be sooner, but alas, I'm traveling... I'm also working with T9Hobby to carry them... I hope I can tell you all when that will happen too.

I added this to the build options and it made no difference to the build size. Arm gnu gcc still builds to 228kalessiomorale wrote:Hi Alan,

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Ah, ok... the interaction of the ranges in taranis vs. the values from the sensors... All is good. changed to 13.2 in taranis (from 18.2) and with the hi-res jumper on, voltage is correct and I can see the smaller step values as it changes. Yeah... good stuff... not how to document that feature :).....

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Ah, so having the higher resolution I need to change the scale in the taranis.... Ok, off to try that, that make sense.hageha wrote:I think you must put Taranis to A2 = 13.2 volts.

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
No changes to the code. No, I haven't made a repository for it yet, need time, been doing other things! With the 3S values, you have a resolution of around 0.05V, with the 4S values, the resolution is around 0.07V. If you go over the reference, you just get a max. reading. If you go too far over, y...

Re: XR8 rx telemetary sensors
Oh No, not THINKING :o Pin 2 is unused, and can be used as an A2D input, so we could use a single board. I think there is enough space in the flash of the 'tiny13 to handle a second A2D input and send data out the SPort. So we could end up with a FAS100 for SPort. Bother, now I'm THINKING ...
