Re: openXsensor slimsize GPS Vario for DLG and F5J

Here is a version with some changes to work with a nice Android app named "iNav SmartPort telemetry viewer and logger". It shows plane and pilot position and can also transmit actual positions of other planes if selected. T1 triggers armed state and T2 triggers GPSfix and transmits number of sats. h...

By the way, does anyone have an adress which sells 'good' MS5611 and BMP280 ?
Out of 5 pcs I had, 3 where dead on arrival. They came from the Bay.
I ordered everything from banggood with very good results.

Thanks a lot Carbo, your help on this post and others have really been helpful, mainly in understanding what was going on, bringing solutions !

What about the drifting ? after half an hour I get a zero at -4m, starting from 0. I am worried because the Alt Temp Comp value does not seem to influence ... It always worked for me. Are you sure, the line is not commented with //? Or it is a hardware issue with this MS5611. G-RX8 (green) vs. open...

I tried changing the Alt Temp Compensation parameter, from +1200 to -300, it stays the same. Any idea ?
Good morning!

Ususally you should see a clear reaction. Do you use a MS5611 sensor? Compensation does only work with this sensor.

Re: Cant get new sensors to show up

Later I found cell 2 and cell 3 values off again and today I discovered a pattern: Whenever I have the arduino (nano) directly powered via usb I get the compensated correct values but when I power the arduino via lipo I got values about 0,5 V less on cell 2 and 3. This is reproducable by plugging i...

Thank you Carbo for the logs. The second you made, is probably one of the first test, in wich I entered range mode and walked until signal was lost at about 200m so no interuptions. At the end of the day all 4 rx had logs like the first you made, which you say it shows a bad rx, in which at close di...

@Carbo! At the moment my vlaues are quite a bit off so I have to recheck the resistor network I guess... Re: Cant get new sensors to show up

FrSky sends cell voltages in a special format. openXsensor creates this special format. OpenTX uses calculated sensors to unpack the data.
https://www.openrcforums.com/forum/view ... hp?t=10410
Sending Volt1,2,3 does not work, because "#define NUMBEROFCELLS 3" handles the first 3 voltages already.

OK - I will try and find some more information about the way Open Tx is handling this. A few days ago mstrens added Galileo and SBAS support to GPS configuration. It seems to be even more precise now. I have tried to walk an "OXS" and a checkbox pattern on a small (4m) street. Downloaded the latest master and pasted the config-files from this thread.

Your log looks strange. Eventually there is an issue with antenna placement/bad reception. You can verify GPS signal quality with some changes in the code, to be able to see and log number of sats and PDOP. Re: High(er) resolution current sensor

Yes, of course, this is the standard approach. The workaround with ADS1115 is cheaper and more precise. It does not need any code change in openXsensor. Mstrens prepared this solution already in his code, i only wanted to show a complete, slimsize build and configuration.

High(er) resolution current sensor

The Lantian-100A-ACDC-Linear-Current-Sensor-Hall-Current-Sensor-Module is cheap (about 6$) and precise. It's size can be reduced to Arduino pro mini size. Still there is the disadvantage with it's 2.5V offset. The voltage output is 2.5 to 4.5V. The 10bit Arduino resolution gives only about 0.2A curr...

Re: OpenXSensor 2 batteries with 2 cells voltage problem

As proposed two sensors with different sensor ID is the way to go. If you want to stay with one sensor, you can make a workaround with an ADS1115 using it's two differential inputs for the second battery transmitting the cell voltages in A3 and A4 field for example. A calculated sensor can be used f...
